I always use GIMP when I want to make things transparent or edit gifs.
It does it job.
But I really want to draw digitaly, I simply use Paint Tool Sai

FYI! My dad works in advertising. He's a creative. I know a bit of Photoshop image manipulation.

Nope. I live in a dorm and my Mom, God bless her wonderful heart, is the nosiest help-you-clean-ingest woman who has ever lived. Well my dad didn't really mind, but my Mom had weird ideas about what to worry about. Mail was fair game, but for some reason she was extremely hands off in every other regard. I dunno why she doesn't trust any packages I receive though.
Heck since I was going back home I had Lumines for the Vita deliver there recently since there was a Best Buy sale for $10, and I got a text when it delivered saying "what's this music game?"
