Someone knows who's developing this? Is it Square?
I think it’s Square developing, Nintendo supervising/ collaborating to make sure the updates models are on brand.

If this does well Nintendo will probably treat it as the Mario RPG franchise going foward.looks very faithful to the original. Good for the fans who enjoyed it but not much for me who wanted to see an overhaul and reimagining of the game
That's my hope as well. Its largely faithful, but greatly expanded in terms of content. For example, I don't remember that % in the left corner of the screen. Maybe they tweaked the combat system?Really hoping they add some content in to flesh the game out a bit. It’s not very long for a SNES jrpg, if I recall.
Also, it’s odd how they aren’t using the original’s subtitle. I almost wonder if the intention is to make iterative sequels after this one, like a reboot of Mario RPGs. To satisfy Paper Mario fans who’ve been starved for something good since 2005, and acknowledgement that the Mario & Luigi series is dead after Alphadream went under in 2019.
Hope that's the case. You have a source?I think it’s Square developing, Nintendo supervising/ collaborating to make sure the updates models are on brand.
Yep.Is this SNES remake ?
Oh my God you're in for a treat. I wish I could experience it again for the first time.Ugh, the timing! I was literally about to play through the original this month as it never came out in the UK and never had to the chance to play it
Might as well wait now

I beat it in one Nighy, as a 10 year old. It's probably only about 10 hours or so.Really hoping they add some content in to flesh the game out a bit. It’s not very long for a SNES jrpg, if I recall.

If I remember right some of the Characters are Square creations (I think Geno is for example) so that would explain itAt the end of the trailer it said Nintendo/ Square Enix. Not sure if that was referencing the original or not, maybe both?
I’m also assuming based on how Nintendo typically does games when they have a third-party work with their IP.
It was a DS game. And BC on 3DS. And I think it was on Wii U VC.On GBA, I meant something new, I didn't have GBA at the time
I need them to affirm that this will have a physical release. I mean, I'll buy it digitally if I have to, but I'd love a real copy of this game.
There was the one on the DS at least. But this is Toadstool.Day one to me, I told my wife ages ago I'd like a Peach game since the character has lots of unveiled potential

Oh yes, didn't know, yet the game was barely known imo, didn't even know it existed until relatively recently and have no way to play it.It was a DS game. And BC on 3DS. And I think it was on Wii U VC.
It literally is just the original but cleaner and 3D. What differences are you seeing? The art direction is gross. Well at least the vastly superior original is still widely available to play.
Besides them modernizing the main mario cast the rest looks identical. The art direction is gross. Well at least the vastly superior original is still widely available to play.
How? You cant even compare this to wonder or obysessey lmaonintendo games look more and more the same. sad.
timestamped
honestly for me it's the latter. The gameplay and overworld traversal feel outdated to what would come later on. The world and characters look really cool but i simply can't get over that.Is Super Mario RPG really that good or is it just nostalgia?
That's what they said about that billion dollar movie, too. It'll go hand in hand with the bluray of the movie.Looks a bit... Soulless compared to the sprites but I'll still give it a go.
Maybe. Hand it over to Monolith. If this does well Nintendo will probably treat it as the Mario RPG franchise going foward.
it's also itch me as wellSomeone knows who's developing this? Is it Square?
