Daaaaamn.

BTW, did anyone post this Sakurai tidbit from Famitsu? Goes into detail over Smash Run enemies and certain character voices (DK and Bowser fans should go take a look).

Sakurai said:
Why certain characters don't have human-sounding voices

- Bowser, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and Dedede have had human-sounding voices in cartoons
- Sakurai says animal sounds make more sense

Yoshi, Fox, Falco...And DK and Bowser have had their regular VAs for years now.

I didn't actually mind the voice acting as a whole in that game, but it's baffling just how terrible Bowser's was.

Funny is that Scott Burns would later go on to become my favourite voice for Bowser in games like Paper Mario 2 and Mario and Luigi SuperstarSaga.

I think Lucas and Wolf were just cut because A) they were clones B) they were (at the time) from basically dead series C) the custom movesets could do what they could.

A shame, though, but it doesn't surprise me.

Wolf only really gets one move properly converted into Fox's custom moveset, and even so the animation is different. He isn't really in the same situation as Lucas where all of his specials were pretty much recreated. Then, again, part of it is just that they didn't bother doing it - like how there seems to be no reflector that works just like Wolf's.

You can't change the d-pad controls, right? I was hoping to use Smash attacks with it, seeing that you could when using the Wiimote + Nunchuck in Brawl.

I was unaware of the custom moves for Ness that give him Lucas's smash attacks and aerials (AKA his best moves)

B-but what about Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, and Lucina? Well, they were from series that had focus between Brawl and 4 (Dr. Mario had a lot of games actually distributed through the various Eshops), and were easier than Wolf or Lucas it seems since they're not as differentiated. But you can bet they're on the cutting block for next time if Kid Icarus doesn't see a new game before then, Fire Emblem goes back into obscurity, and Dr. Mario dies out.
When time became an issue sure, but they clearly had nothing against exact clones and Ike/Sheik staying shows franchise relevance isn't that big of a deal either (not to mention Wolf's pretty prominent in SF643D).

Like the IC, I think Wolf and Lucas were intended to stay in the game's initial pre-production period but were lower priority than clones from more recent/bigger games, like you said. At the very least they should be the easiest veterans to bring back in terms of DLC; nothing hardware wise to screw them up like IC, nothing copyright wise like Snake, and they don't (neccessarily) need a new special and Final Smash like Squirtle/Ivysaur would.

Wolf can keep the land master, but if/when Lucas returns, It would be great if his Final Smash was PK love.

Edit: Ok then PK love Omega :p
