I don't think anyone (outside of Nintendo) knows. I would think so, but I could just as well imagine it being an exhibition kind of event, and they consider inviting them and bringing them out as the prize.
I wish they would announce the names of the players already though. I also really wanna know what sort of format they'll be playing, if they'll get the full roster (though of course we wouldn't know that until after the digital event), if they'll get any practice time, etc. It's an interesting thing to do, but we still know so little about it.

I'm sure that development on this game was heavily underway before the idea of the figurines was even conceived. (I definitely wouldn't call the compatiblity "confirmed" yet!) I just can't see Nintendo producing large quantities of detailed plastic models for every member of a 40+ character roster, most of them aren't popular enough to make back costs. We'll probably see a run of the eight Smash 64 mascots that you can use to store your customisation details, and that'll be it.
Baseless speculation is FUN, but I wish they had announced the NFP properly with actual details

That's one of the more common arguments against Ridley. His long jointed neck. As if his neck is constantly stretched out at all times.
I plan on making a video to try and win a trip to E3, I can't really bank on my usual free ticket so I think it will be fun to create a short little video. I'll express my love of all things Smash Bros and Donkey Kong, while wearing DK's tie. Then i'll let them know that fighting with Donkey Kong in Smash caused me to take up monkey style wushu and proceed to give about 8 seconds of this here below.
