Speaking of which, do you guys think that after this Smash Invitational, Nintendo might start actively supporting/hosting tournaments that are a little more competitive (this is meant to be part publicity as a new Smash game is coming out)

I would imagine they might still have different rules, based on VGC vs Smogon, but still

Depends on how well the Invitational turns out. If the crowd shits on the game every time an item/stage hazard/Final Smash costs someone a stock and/or the invited players publically trash the game after the tournament, Nintendo'd probably decide to avoid the competitive Smash community afterwords, if only for the sake of PR.

L-cancelling returning isn't out of the question. Wave dashing is tied to directional air dodges so it doesn't seem like it will return unless they bring back directional air dodges, which I'm thinking wont be he case.

Short hopping and fast falling have no reason to be removed and we have seen the latter being done many times. I don't remember if there has been footage of a short hop.

I'm genuinely trying to picture three commentators trying to talk about a Smash Bros free for all with items on. It's nearly impossible to keep up with teams, and that's with items off and two people on the mics.

This just seems crazy. I expect a lot of talking over eachothers words, since so much is happening on the screen at once.

The finals should be incredible, though.

It was a direct devoted to Smash, so that's not really "regular." But since Smash is one of their big titles and focuses this year at E3, we'll probably see a few.
