So that's "Series 1." It's been said in interviews the plan is to release an Amiibo for every fighter on the roster. In that case, assuming each series has about 14-15 fighters, who do you think will be in "Series 2?"

Maybe we'll see:

- Rosalina & Luma
- Bowser
- Luigi
- Ike
- Diddy Kong
- Toon Link
- Sheik
- ZSS
- Lucario
- Charizard
- Greninja
- Little Mac
- Palutena
- King Dedede
- Pikmin & Olimar

I think they might make us wait for the third-party reps.

It might also be they haven't shown Series 2 yet because unannounced vets or newcomers like Chrom, Shulk and Chorus Men could be mixed in.

Hm, would series 1 Amiibos be the starting roster for SSB?

Out of curiosity I tried out Project M, and good lord, I've played Brawl waaaay too much in its original iteration. Action is moving way quicker than I remembered it, and I was having my ass handed to me pretty regularly by the CPU fighters. It does "feel" better though, if that makes sense. Just need to shake the rust off and keep playing in time for Smash Wii U.

I love how people hold on to the "____ comes out today, the update will be ____ related" when it has hardly ever happened.

But really, let us make it interesting! Especially after last week's plethora of Smash info and footage we're at most tame now...
except on weekends I guess o.o

From my experience, those lvl 9 CPU in Project M are crazy as hell. lol

I'd like some kind of clarification on Palutena's moveset... like what even a single one of her defaults are :P
However, instead, I fully expect some info about one of pacman's stages or the like instead :/

I still don't get what Amiibos even do if they're characters already in the game.
yeah I'm confused on that too but hey they look nice

Amiibos basically act as save-cards for customisable AI that level up and supposedly learn how their opponents play. The 'custom' AI which you can choose the equipment and moves of yourself, apparently goes up to level 50 where normal AI is restricted to a max of level 9. It's pretty gimmicky if you ask me and not that useful unless you like fighting the computer :o

Keep in mind that Project M AI is made to do the kind of techs that competitive players do, so its usually harder than their Brawl counterpart, I know this is the case for lvl 9 CPUs but if they did a good work then lower level CPUs should be much easier (like in Brawl).

I do know that PM AI is still being worked on to make it better but there is only one guy who is in charge of that.

Grrrr I'm really trying to not fall into the temptation of learning the game early by getting the 3DS version.

October is Bayonetta 2 month too. My grades.....

I'm really considering just not buying the 3DS version and going into Wii U multiplayer with the game being completely fresh.

You already know you're getting the 3DS version :P

We're all going to know everything about the game by mid-September anyway..

Pikachu's amiibo looks the worst.

I gotta agree with you on that, makes me sad too since Pikachu has always been my main. I'm planning on picking up a few amiibos depending on their price(if its anything above $13 I'll only buy 2 tops) and I would've liked to pick pikachu that way I could've trained the CPU against my own pika skills. Definetly getting the Samus one since imo its the coolest looking one out of the revealed amiibos. Hope theres more before the game comes out. Fingers crossed for Mewtwo amiibo
cause he's returning.

Believe.

I would if it lived up to that. I'm not expecting too much unless they power up the AI with super armor, etc.

You know what could of been cool? If amiibos were actually Assist Trophy characters like Waluigi and Lyn etc. etc. And as they level up, they do more attacks then just the default set.

The CPU in Project M are nuts! Especially if its more then a 1v1.....wolf CPU scares me.

Yes I can beat all lvl 9 CPU's in the other games...

...unfortunately they're easily exploitable and then it becomes really boring to fight them. Pick dr. mario and stand at one end of final destination and spam pills. Watch as they slowly walk toward you as if the pills weren't even there!

There's no Bowser. I don't believe.

Or just watch them wavedash off the edge and airdodge into nothing but their death.

Tonight Rosalina shows us what ELSE is under her dress.

About Amiibo, I'm wondering if the CPU-controlled player data can be used for a separate kind of tournament. Like for example, I'll train my Amiibo stats and let him learn my player tendencies. Then let it fight with another player's Amiibo, but both will be CPU controlled to see who'll win at the end. Kind of like Tamiya race cars: set it up to your liking, join the battle, and watch how the game will end.
