That's not how it works though. The prominent shadow implies that the shirt ends there on the Smash 4 render, not that it moves inward. It wouldn't leave that prominent of a shadow unless it was obscuring something on a perfect line.

Personally I don't think the Famitsu image reveals anything since we've had an image of the full scale Tomodachi building since July, and the stage room layouts are always randomized, so we'll have to agree to disagree to all of this "tipping it" into favor of believability.

EDIT: If it wasn't already obvious, #TeamFake lol.

I'm thinking Guar Plains, Mute City, and Magicant will all be in the Wii U version as well as no way do any of those three franchises have a different new stage for both versions. Guar Plains especially because there is no corresponding past stage for the franchise. Mute City as well as the stage seems to be derived from a console game (F-Zero SNES). Magicant is also a console stage, but the original Mother was ported to the GBA, so there's some gray area there.

I really do hope the Wii U version is more fully featured when it comes to stage representation than the 3DS version (again, if this is all true). But the lack of a Kirby stage for the Wii U version plus the appearance of Halberd even after all three Kirby characters have been revealed is making me nervous. The graphics of the past stages don't cut it as well for the Wii U version and would make even poorer sole representations.

This stage list is really odd though, as we know there's going to be a Star Fox Assault stage of all things in the Wii U version, so we know Sakurai isn't averse to dipping into games that predate Brawl, so the lack of a new Metroid 3DS stage for instance is baffling. Heck, the 3DS Paper Mario stage has part of it taken from Paper Mario: TTYD when it absolutely didn't have to. It's just all very baffling.

Forgot to mention Kirby. My guess is that we'll probably have a new Kirby stage in regards to the console/handheld stage rule, but as evidenced by the Kalos League it's not absolute. We'll see about that, though.

I agree Magicant is a grey area, though while F-Zero's stage may be as well I can't imagine they won't go for a more graphically-involved stage (unless they're going for a Pilotwings-esque direction). And hey, better an Assault stage than an Adventures one.

It is very surreal. I should be so very salty over the lack of Lucas...baffled at the return of Dr. Mario...but no, I'm putting all my attention on stages.

Technically, you'll get Lucas back, according to the first leaker. It'll just come post-launch as DLC.

We're at the point where I could understand if Sakurai didn't go all out with highly requested characters so there'd be some left for the next installment.

Snake may be default on the WiiU and just added later to the 3DS to keep the roster a surprise.

Snake would be a massive hype boost for the WiiU release.
 
I've been saying since we knew both versions would release at different times that they should hold back characters for the WiiU release so that they can still have some roster surprises when it releases, really hope it's true.

My understanding is someone else "leaked" those later.

Here's what I currently believe:

- Leak 1 (with Shulk, Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt, Dark Pit and Dr. Mario) is real
- I'm inclined to believe the DLC mentioned in Leak 1, as well (Ice Climbers, Wolf, Lucas, Snake, Chorus Men)
- Ridley, Dixie, etc, were in a separate rumor. I think these are fake piggybacking off the real Leak 1.

We'll see, I suppose.
 
I want it to be true just for Doctor Mario and Chorus Kids + Snake DLC but it's too good to be true. The inconsistencies bug me, too.

can we get a veteran reveal tomorrow and just end this

The bolded is what I'm suspecting as well, thank you.

If it's true, then I'll be saddened at the lack of Mewtwo again but I'd be delighted to have Lucas and co. return, as well as the Chorus Men.

I like this idea. It's a good thing for everyone involved: it keeps the hype up for the Wii U version, and people with the 3DS version get a batch of new content for an extra shot of excitement. On the day of the Wii U release, Nintendo can send out a free patch or whatever on the 3DS eshop.
