I'm still finding it really, really weird that Wario got demoted to an unlockable character.
How is that a demotion? I'd say it's a promotion, if anything. Unlockable characters have a sort of natural allure/feeling of exclusivity to them because you have to work for them. I'd rather have Wario available from the start because I don't give one shit about him, but hey.
I'm going to spend way too much time in the Sounds section
You can never spend too much time in the Sounds section.
This Brawl 100% talk reminds me, I can't believe I still don't have all the stickers in Brawl yet, so many hours put into that game, so many stickers picked up and I'm still waiting for one of my final few challenge walls to crack.
- Collect all Stickers
- Defeat 5 Enemies in Cruel Brawl
- Clear 100 man Brawl with all characters (or did I just Golden Hammer this? maybe, I certainly did for the All Star one)
And the most brutal of all...
-Play 10 coin matches
Yeah, I never quite 100%'d Brawl either. I don't quite have all the Stickers and I have one challenge remaining that I was never able to complete: beat Boss Battles on Extreme. Ugh.
Man just give me the leaks already.
CHORUS MEN
DIXIE
ICE CLIMBERS
WOLF
MEWTWO
MY BODY IS READY.
Replace Wolf with Lucas and you have my perfect lineup of five more characters.
So gaf, what's your smash bros game cred? Which characters on the roster have you played in other games? Which ones have you not?
Template copied and pasted from an earlier post:
Mario: Yes. Finished all the mainline games as well as the vast majority of the spin-off games, including crappy ones like
Mario Is Missing. Never played
Hotel Mario, though...
Yoshi: Yes. Finished every mainline game, including
Yoshi's New Island. Have not played many of the spin-offs, like
Yoshi Topsy-Turvy.
Wario: Mostly. Finished the original
Wario Land,
Wario World, and
Wario Land: Shake It, and have finished/played to death every
WarioWare game. Own
Game & Wario, haven't played it much. Dabbled in the 3DS Ambassador version of
Wario Land 4, got bored with it very quickly.
Donkey Kong: Yes. Have finished and 100%'d every mainline
DKC game, from the original through
Tropical Freeze. Have also 100%'d
Donkey Kong 64 and
Donkey Kong '94, and played the original
Donkey Kong and
Donkey Kong 3 quite a bit.
Zelda: Yes. Finished and 100%'d every mainline Zelda title, all the way up through
Skyward Sword and
A Link Between Worlds. Have not played the CD-i titles and only dabbled a bit in spin-offs like
Link's Crossbow Training.
Metroid: Yes. Played and 100%'d every game except for
Metroid II, which I own but never really took to.
Kirby: Yes. Played and completed every mainline game except for
Kirby's Epic Yarn, as well as many of the spin-offs like
Kirby's Block Ball and
Kirby's Pinball Land.
Star Fox: Yes. Have played and finished every game up through
Star Fox 64 3D -- including the beta of
Star Fox 2!
Pokémon: Mostly. Have played every mainline game to death up through generation six, but I've mostly ignored the spin-offs outside of
Pokémon Snap and the original
Pokémon Stadium.
F-Zero: Yes. Have played, but not necessarily completed, every game in the series except for
F-Zero: GP Legend (which was never released outside of Japan). I love these games, but I'm awful at them.
Mother: Yes. Have completed all three (the original and
Mother 3 via their fan translations).
Ice Climbers: Yes. I don't own the original cart but I've played it in various incarnations and have the 3DS Ambassador version of it. It sucks.
Fire Emblem: Nope. I dabbled in the 3DS Ambassador version of
The Sacred Stones and didn't like it, though I did play the demo of
Awakening and really liked it, so I plan to play that soon.
Game & Watch: A little, but not really. I have one of the replica
Game & Watch units from Club Nintendo, but I don't own an original G&W device, nor have I played any of the
Game & Watch Gallery titles.
Kid Icarus: Mostly. Played the original and own it in a couple of incarnations (Wii VC, Wii U VC), completed the 3D Classics version of the original, and played the shit out of
Kid Icarus: Uprising. Have not played
Of Myths & Monsters.
Pikmin: Nope. I got
Pikmin 3 for free for registering
Mario Kart 8 and dabbled in it a bit, but got kind of bored before long. They're not really my kind of games.
Gyromite/R.O.B.: Nope. Never owned a R.O.B. or
Gyromite despite having an NES from five years old on.
Animal Crossing: Somewhat. Played the original and played the crap out of
Wild World, but burned out on the series after that. Ignored
City Folk and
New Leaf.
Wii Fit: Nope. I played the original
Wii Fit, like, once at a friend's house.
Punch-Out: A little. I've played all three of the titles but never really got that into them, though I recognize how fantastic
Punch-Out!! for Wii is. I do own the original on the Wii U VC.
Xenoblade: Somewhat. I played around 15 hours before burning out. I want to return to it because the story really did have me hooked and I like the characters and world, but I just can't stand most of the actual gameplay. I'm a JRPG guy and the gameplay is too WRPG for my tastes.
Wii [Noun]: Somewhat. I own
Wii Party U and play it somewhat regularly. I also own both
Wii Sports titles but haven't played them all that much. Never played
Wii Play.
Sonic the Hedgehog: Yes. Played and finished all the mainline titles up through
Sonic Lost World and have played many (but not all) of the spin-offs.
Metal Gear: Mostly. Played and finished all the mainline
Metal Gear Solid titles, but have barely played
Portable Ops and
Peace Walker. Totally ignored
Metal Gear Ac!d and have barely played the original NES
Metal Gear games. I didn't bother with
MGS V: Ground Zeroes, but I'm very excited about
MGS V: The Phantom Pain.
Mega Man: Yes. Played and finished every single Classic, X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Network, and Star Force title, many of them multiple times -- even the crappy ones like
Mega Man X7,
Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge,
Mega Man Battle Network 4, and the original
Mega Man Star Force. I grew up with Mega Man and he and his various incarnations quickly became my favorite characters ever. I have not played a couple of the spin-offs, like
Super Adventure Rockman and
RockBoard.
Pac-Man: Somewhat. I've played the original games,
Pac-Mania, and
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX plenty over the years, but have completely ignored the likes of
Pac-Land,
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, and other spin-offs.
But allow me to go even further and include Assist Trophies!
Brain Age: A little. I own and played the original quite a bit for its multiplayer. Nothing beyond that.
Color TV-Game: Nope. I've played
Pong, of course, but I've never played or even heard of this specific version of it.
Custom Robo: Barely. I dabbled in the demo version of
Chibi Robo: Photo Finder!, but that's it. It looks like a cute series, though.
Daigasso! Band Brothers: Nope.
Devil World: Nope.
Dillon's Rolling Western: Nope. Was initially interested in playing the original, then quickly lost interest when I found out it's partially a tower defense game. Can't stand those.
Drill Dozer: Nope. I have a sealed copy of it, but I've never played it.
Excitebike: Somewhat. I own and have played both the original cart and the 3D Classics version, but it's just okay. I have not played
Excitebike 64 or
Excite Truck.
For the Frog the Bell Tolls: Nope.
Golden Sun: Somewhat. I finished the original but burned out on
The Lost Age about halfway through, and never tried
Dark Dawn.
Kururin: Nope.
The Mysterious Murasame Castle: Barely. I bought the 3DS VC version and dropped it pretty quickly... I don't find it to be particularly good.
Nintendo Wars: Nope.
Nintendogs: Somewhat. I played the original for awhile, but never any of the sequels.
SimCity: Barely. Dabbled in it here and there, but I'm not a fan.
Sin and Punishment: Nope. I'm aware of it, just never got around to trying it.
Starfy: Yes, in terms of its only US release. I 100%'d
The Legendary Starfy and have watched Let's Plays of the Japan-only titles (all of the other ones, basically).
And stages:
Electroplankton: Nope.
Find Mii: Yes. I've 100%'d completed both the original and
Find Mii II. I'm a huge StreetPass addict.
Pilotwings: Yes. I own and have played all three titles to death.
Tomodachi Life: Yes. I'm playing it right now and am surprised at how much I'm enjoying it!
I'd like to see Wonder Red as an Assist Trophy, but that's it.
Same here. I played a bit of
The Wonderful 101 and don't really get the fervor surrounding it. I'd be happy for fans if they got a playable character in Smash, but I personally wouldn't care if it never happened. I'm chalking up the fact that Wonder Red (and whoever else) got more votes than Mega Man to the possibility that a lot of people didn't realize that you could vote for already-confirmed Smash 4 newcomers...
She'd be instant main for me. Though she's only appeared on Nintendo as a chibi so it'd have to be chibi-miku (which is fine by me

)
Same here! I'd main the shit out of Miku right alongside Mega Man and Kirby.
Honestly, if that obviously fake leak was true, I'd be disappointed. It would mean that we have more, but nothing more than Ridley
I would take Chorus Kids or Dixie Kong over Ridley.
Same here. In a flat second, without looking back.
No anime in my Smash, guys
Then you'd probably best get to cutting Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina, Pit, Palutena, Mega Man, and Shulk, because they're all about as anime as you can get.
