Sakurai shows off Master Orders and Crazy Orders and the fans go nuts.
Hey guys? Apparantly there is a picture going around of a 3D model of the Flying Man. I won't post it since it seems like its a scan and has Japanese text, but someone should get on translating that.Flying Man DLC confirmed? D:
I really don't think Magicant and the SNES Mute City also being Wii U stages is so out there. Only other reason I can think of as to why they'd get new stages on the 3DS version but no vet stages while bigger franchises would get a vet stage but no new 3DS stage.Hey guys? i still think the most telling thing for DLC is the many single gaps in the stage/character/item select screens, and the unused arrow files that fit them perfectly.
i mean, what else could it be?
I don't know the exact rules regarding it? I don't wanna get banned. You're not even allowed to show us where it is?
Online Only Unlockables is such a stupid idea....
so thus this is true.

The Wii U version has to be going gold already, though. Games usually go to print about a month before they ship to retailers, so at this point they'd have two or three more days of actual development/testing at best. Nah, I'm thinking DLC.
The guy behind the 16 DLC leak is back again!
Average price for 3DS being $5.99 for two characters isn't bad, but for stuff like Wonder Red and Isaac, having to pay when WiiU got them for free would just piss me and everyone else that mains the 3DS version off. Also Wonder Red went from DLC to AT to DLC. Plot twists up in here. Also, online only unlockables.
Well, I have lost faith in this leak if I do say so myself. Mr. Prince just shot himself in the foot. I also think he edited his post on SB to day "deleted due to Nintendo C&D"![]()
"Flying Man is somewhat of a contradiction---in Smash Brothers, he's both powerful, yet comes across as a little two-dimensional, a little flat. In a way, he was greatly influenced by my late father who passed away shortly beforehand. As a child, I viewed my father as a 3D figure, a man with both height, width, and depth. But when I grew up, I realized my father, that man I was saw as a powerful man---a flying man---was often pixelated, and lacked depth. I wondered why I feared him so much? And in a way, that's how I've developed Flying Man as a stage hazard. Personally I'm quite close to the character, and thus I find it difficult to include the 3D model."
The 3D Flying Man screen is from the 3DS version and says it was changed for performance reasons.
Assuming it's real, that is.
I translated the Flying Man pic:
Welp.
So why is there a 3D and a 2D one in the pic?
Fake or not, these rumors have pushed me over the edge. I'm definitely getting a Wii U on black friday.
Realistically, how cheap do you think I can pick one up?
Masahiro Sakurai said:Q: Do you have any interesting shots from when the game was still in development?
A: Of course--I have plenty. Let's see...
The Flying Men you see on the 3DS' Magicant stage are animated as pixel art, we also created a polygonal model. However, the pixel art was easier on the 3DS' processor and it felt more Mother-esque, so we decided against using the polygonal model.
There you go! What a bummer... I would have loved to have 3D Flying Men! ;___;
(And, personally speaking, although I absolutely love pixel art, I think using polygonal models for the FM would have made more sense in this case considering that the Sky Runner and all other objects on the stage use 3D models.)
If that's the case I would have just turned the Flying Man into another Mother AT.Also because as a stage hazard it's awful.
I don't understand why they didn't try to make Ice Climbers into sprites.
Of all the characters in the game, they'd work best as sprites and it would help with the processing power, while being artistically pleasing and pretty cool.

It's from the same guy who's been scanning Sakurai's columns for the last year.I'm incredibly skeptical that the Flying Man picture is real, development leftovers or not. The Spring Palutena fake comes to mind.

The sprite looks better considering the rest of the stage's 2D elements, and blends in well with the nostalgic atmosphere. Keeping it 2D probably also made it stand out compared to the playable characters a lot more, especially on the 3DS.
Though as far as an interpretation of the design goes, it looks like a fairly good model; I like that they chose to use the ingame sprite as a base and not the original artwork. Hopefully it gets used in a trophy in the Wii U version.

Why fake such a comparitively boring image though? Internet I know but this will for most people be a "oh thats cool to know" and never look back.
It's from Famitsu. We get copies at work, and I just checked--it's real.![]()
Yeah, I think that using a 2D model definitely helps the Flying Men stand out, especially in FFA matches. That said, I really like the model they used, and it's a shame we probably won't be seeing it used any time soon. :\
Also, what's with all the FM hate in Smash? I love those guys!

This is perfect.
This is going to be a thing isn't it? I don't mind, carry on.I translated the Flying Man pic:

Intelligent Systems needs to make a Paper Ice Climbers game first.I don't understand why they didn't try to make Ice Climbers into sprites.

Take the Flying Man model, re-work it into a playable model for Hawlucha please.
This Smash World "leak" has picked up steam lol.

With Tower of Smash on the verge of death, people need another completely unbelievable leak to latch on to.
