Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Thanks for reminding me why I don't come here. Fucking hell, you guys will do some odd things to entertain yourselves whilst waiting for Yoshi to get re-confirmed.

When you've prayed to Arceus for so long for something to happen and nothing does, you sometimes turn to Giratina for a change of pace.
what did I just write lol

It's weird how right after "revealing" the SMG stage they just go ahead and spam more snapshots of the Other M stage.

That one?
That's Battlefield

He commented on the rim lighting, I think it's Galaxy.

Is there a comparison pic of that and Battlefield's backdrop? I recall Battlefield's wasn't as detailed and was basically a fairly small tiling texture.

I really don't see how that is Battlefield. Is there something I am missing?

The sky backdrop is completely different from Battlefield's and there is no white rim lighting there either. It's not Battlefield.

The starry bg isn't even alike. Where did the lighting come from too?

That sky is not the one from Battle Field, plus Battle Field doesn't make characters shine like that.

Battlefield Galaxy

its not the same, and sakurai gave special mention to the lighting around kirby, which people tend to forget this.

I.. well...hmm.. I

Sorry

I don't see why it can't be Battlefield. We still don't know many things about the stage. What if there are many different night backgrounds or the moon moves on the background(the source of the light). He revealed the other ones immediately, so I don't see a reason why he should hint this one.

I don't think night time would have multiple types of skies. Seems like a really strange and trivial thing to add.

Also Sakurai's comment was pretty much "this artsy style looks familiar". It's way more likely it has to do with something really familiar.

Yes, I suppose you're right. It still seems strange to me though that he would just tease that. A Galaxy stage would probably be one of the best news stages to include, along with a Xenoblade one. Well, I guess we could learn more this week...

Galaxy style lighting/shading seen in that shot is available as an option everywhere (along with other looks). We change already outline thickness, this is just another option. And that background is just Battlefield if you play the game at a different time.

(lol)

It's why I'm so disappointed with this week's updates. They revealed nothing when they could easily do! :(

So instead of releasing a hint picture that hides the identity of a new stage, Sakurai released a hint picture displaying the features of a known stage without revealing what stage actually has these features, although he already released numerous pictures of this stage that do not indicate any such feature? Tricky.

My expectations are reasonably in check. I still suspect 2015.

Hey now, he may just wanted to focus on Kirby in that shot.
Who I am kidding, you people convinced me that this is the Galaxy stage. :(

Well, the only stage that comes to mind that has a similar background and that lighting is this one

Edit: better view

We could be having a year and a half more of these updates, and you guys are complaining about nothing substantial/shocking in the first three months or so?

Eh, I'm more or less a bit disappointed just how they teased the Mario Galaxy stage and proceed show off more of that Other M stage (which I feel is kind of overdone at this point). I don't expect Megatons all the time.

dunno just would like to see a bit more of the galaxy stage is all I'm asking for

or maybe I'm probably just sick of the Other M stage more than anything else lol

Gaur Plains, night time. #callingit
I prefer the idea I had:

I was thinking that if we get a Xenoblade stage (and even if we don't get a Xenoblade character we really have to have a Xenoblade stage), they'd pull something of a Mushroomy Kingdom. Basically, you'd have both Day and Night variations of certain tracks like "Gaur Plains" or "Colony 9" - and depending on what plays, the stage itself will change accordingly to the appropriate time of day. There would also be some of the battle themes (and "Engage the Enemy", despite being cutscene music) - during those, you'd get, say, a thunderstorm instead, or perhaps a sunset. So it's not exactly like Mushroomy Kingdom where you get an entirely different stage depending on the music randomly chosen, but that particular aspect of the stage would be tied to the music.
The stage would almost certainly be Gaur Plains, although there are certainly other nice views in the game.

But yeah, vary the scenery a bit without drastically changing the stage.

Oh okay. Goodbye I guess?

Welcome Back.

Yeah, I really hope that we are getting it during Late Summer or Fall 2014. If they want to make it better then I would welcome 2015 if it's needed to be.
