Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition |OT4| Daigo Who?

also, hito, if you're at final round next year i hope to get a chance to play you instead of just talking it up for a while hah

Just come to the next Rock'em Sock'em next week(the 17th) in Charlotte if you want to play Hito. Funny thing is I and Hito played a few matches. Then he wanted to play his Hawk against me. But my friend who I always come with decided to butt in and then they played like 20 games straight while I played this Bison player about nearly the same amount. Hito had to take off and we never played anymore after that.

It's true, DBJ. Me and Saty love each other and that's all that matters.

Does Sagat have any good normals? Once people get past my fireball/uppercut obstacle course I have trouble keeping them out of that mid range that somebody like Balrog or Chun-Li excels at and I need some sort of good poke to deal with it :\

learn to safely space tiger knee and it's safe on block and puts him close...his crouch jab is 3 frames so that's a huge plus. i think his cr.fp is underrated...shit does DAMAGE

St lk is the fartherest reaching and comes out pretty fast considering it's reach. Can also cancel to fireball to push/chip a bit more but it has to be done really fast and not at max distance.

St mk is really good at stuffing a lot of attacks

St HK is great against focus happy people as it will almost always hit twice except at max distance. Decent AA but loses to a lot of jump attacks. Don't abuse too much as it only hits high or big chars, so people with cr pokes can blow you up for it.

Why are you in exile btw?
My internet is such that only Blazblue and Arcana have any chance of being playable. This may change soon though if Time Warner actually fixes the main line connecting where I live. They said they would. :(

Get whatever internet Rice has. I get semi decent connections with him despite being on opposite coasts. Apparently you guise live near each other cause you go to the same tourneys...

I said they were mashing, haha. And the one on the right is definitely cute.

Bad pic, but there was another girl playing before who at least had some clue what she was doing.

We live in the same state, but not the same city. Hito lives in Charlotte, our biggest city. I live in a small town about an hour away called Newton. So obviously he can't get what I'm getting. But according to what he said, that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I didn't realize he had a 3 frame jab? Why don't people use it when other players get in on Sagat like Balrog guys like to do?

Thanks! I've been afraid to stick HK out there, but its even stranger when I watch videos of Bonchan or those top Japanese guys who go so far with their AAs to even do random DPs and hope to catch something.

Another fun night. Looks like a bunch of great matches happened when I went to dreamland. Oooohh.

Me vs some Gouken that was beating up on GAF for a while. Guess he can't handle Adon.

I can confirm that JTV degrades the quality of the video when you make highlights. Doesn't look nearly as smooth as the stream quality or initial archive video.

I just realized I've played that guy before. he beat me twice just barely kicked me and called me free. The next day I entered his lobby in an alt account and bodied him something fierce.

The cr jab doesn't reach that far and if rushdown will likely get beat out by many things, especially if they are frame trapping you. It's good when you need something to punish a badly spaced Rog dash punch, but there are usually a number of cases where if you can punish with cr jab, it will be likely enough that the window will also open to just throw them. It's better as it creates the spacing needed to reset the situation and get an untechable knockdown.

I haven't seen any bonchan vids where he AA at random, everything is read and conditioned by good Sagats to make people jump or do a certain move at certain distances. You need a bit of that to make people scared of coming in on you.

Eva joined after I go to bed just to piss me off.

I just played and beat a yun with almost 11,000 bp and he was pretty mediocre. How did he become the 54th highest ranked yun and be that bad? Yun isnt THAT good of a character.

I had 11kbp after the first month of ssf4 when it dropped last year, it's just a matter of grinding it out. PP is more indicative of skill than anything and even that isn't really the best clue.

How do people get so much BP anyways? I see a bunch of guys with over 5k BP for there character but less then 1500 PP for there character. I normally average around 2500 PP and can't even crack 5000 BP with my main Evil Ryu on Xbox live. Honestly, I'm kind of confused when I run into guys with similar PP, but about twice the BP as me(give or take).

You find gaining bp hard? do you play a lot of ranked? Gaining bp is easy to me, not so much when you reach over 10k, it's just a matter of grinding really. PP on the other hand can be a bitch to maintain.

Yes, I play a lot of ranked. But I have trouble gaining BP. For a while, I would crack 4k BP on and then fall below it constantly on while on Xbox. On PC and PS3 it's a little easier, but still I can't get anywhere close to that ridiculous 10k figure that I see some players with even though they only have around the same PP as me.

Their character. Also, you only have BP on a per character basis, so I'm not sure what you mean by "PP for their character". People have high BP and low PP when they experiment with other characters in ranked. The BP for their main character doesn't drop, but their PP does because they are losing more often, and if you have over 4K then you lose 128PP per loss.

On PC I usually have 4.5kPP/15kBP but I've been playing Makoto and Seth in ranked lately so I lose a lot. So now I have 2.5kPP, but I still have 15kBP for Sim. High BP/Low PP players are either letting someone else play on their account, messing around with characters they aren't good at, or are in a massive slump.

That was a accident, I know that PP is not character specific like BP is. I know how BP and PP work, I was just confused how people can get there BP so high despite not having much PP. And most of the time, the skill I'm seeing is pretty low. I know these points are meaningless and blah blah blah, but it kind of boggles me that I run into a lot players with much higher BP for there character then my best character, but lower or same PP as me. I guess it's probably what you said though.

You have 15k BP, JUST on PC, that you've gained only since AE came out. How much do you play????

The other thing it could be is mediocre players just grinding it out for obscene amounts of time. BP is easier to get and harder to lose than PP, so even scrubby players can get their BP into the thousands given enough grinding, and their PP would remain low since their win rate wouldn't be that high.

Timedog said:

I don't play much at all. You have to understand, the competition on PC is abysmal. I had 15K within a few weeks, and that was just from 2 or 3 hour sessions each time at most. My win rate with Sim in ranked is like 92%. It isn't hard to get BP on there and doesn't take long at all. That's why I've been playing Mak and Seth on PC, to give me some sense of challenge.
