Choco isn't coming to SB with Momochi this time. When we teamed up for NSB30 she told me she couldn't go and that Momochi was going by himself.
Aw, that's too bad. And funny, she's been playing really well lately.

Just saw a very rarely seen thing: Latif LOSING @_@

Was browsing the new replays channel and happened to come across it. Not only did Latif lose, but was pretty much destroyed. The winner was WeirdoNeo (Juri player).

Somehow related.

Seems like it's a bad matchup for viper? Or maybe lag has something to do with it?

If it's a bad matchup for viper I can see saty picking up juri :p

I think Juri's one of the most underrated characters in the game. I'm not sure I want to jump on the Juri train for Ver.2012, there's going to be a lot more Juris, I bet.

I think Juri can do pretty well against Yun too, though I guess it's a matter of whether Juri gets knocked down, or can escape when she is.

Neo is one of the few people who beats Latif consistently.

No way man I don't believe you, Latif is like totally our SF lord and savior. He's like the hottest player in the game right now!

That wasn't Latif, his friend was playing on his account.

I've always thought that Juri was pretty underrated, too. She has a great tool set that makes her so tricky, unpredictable, and overall very tough. Whenever I'm not Fuerte, I HATE playing her because she can play the spacing game so well. And even when I AM Fuerte, I still play more cautiously against her when I'm not already on top of her.

But Fuerte's back splash stuffs that EX pinwheel so I keep her on her toes, too =p

That's just Alt 1 Color 10, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks. Can't believe it took me this long to find this out. Haven't done an costume video for the twins. Hat less Yun is also alt 1, color 10.

I just realized the way your hand is positioned on a stick can be contributed to performance. Been missing some links but all I did was move my palm up a little and I am hitting them 99% of the time now. The more you know.

Unless you play one handed, it's all in your head dood.

Also, I've been playing people who have 800 pp but 4750~bp. What gives? you'd think they would have learned something by then...

Nope. Couldn't hit a certain link no matter how many times I tried when I was holding the stick with my palm lower than halfway down the surface of the stick then I moved my palm and had it above the half and bam!, was hitting my links like it was nothing.

v
No on that either. I use pretty much the whole cast if anybody watches my streams. That's why random select is something I do often. I'm not a stranger to doing one frame links one after another too. This could be attributed to me learning how to play with a joystick this year.

Probably dicking around with a character they don't normally use.

your links have nothing to do with the way you hold the stick, its the way you press the buttons. Definitely all in your head.

So this is the second time tonight I've played Claw vs Dudley, and both times, I've nullified Dudley's Ultra I with Claws overhead. No real timing or anything, just standing about a character length away. Did I just get luck twice, common vs overheads, or what?

If you put it in that context yes. But no. Holding the stick a certain way helps me with my links and there is no argument you can point out to me there.

Anyway. I have a lobby up and running.

Dud's U1 is only invulnerable to projectiles, so it sounds like your spacing is on point. You're braver than I am to try and stop it with Claw's overhead, though.

Duds U1 just plains sucks. Only useful for punishing Honda's headbutts and whiffed EX psycho crusher. It's not even that great for punishing fireballs because you need to be at a certain distance, and against anyone who isn't just straight up dumb with his fireballs that shit's not gonna work.

It can be usable as a punish for normals with bad recovery on block, but i don't have the reactions to pull that...

I really hope Season's Beatings Velocity has a impact on majors next year(especially EVO) when it comes to the entrance fee for a game. In case you didn't know, they moved it up to $20. Not only to attract more international players, but also so they could pay out all the way to top 32. I'm a big fan of this move. I spent about $1000 to go to EVO, really it would not have killed me to pay 10 extra dollars just so we could double the prize money for AE(or whichever game you entered).

Until Majors have great sponsors so they can pay out like the likes of this past Revelations(which may never happen for the majority), just doubling the entry fee would go a long ways to attracting more attention in a variety of ways(hopefully not the negative kind though). I've been playing in local tournaments which have a $10 entry fee per game for over a year now. That's the way it should be, but I feel Majors which attract around 500 people and last 2+ days should have a different standard.

In a way, think of it like the World Series of Poker compared to playing in poker tournaments at the local casino. The WSOP main event has a 10k entry fee where as your local poker tournament is probably anywhere from 10 to a few hundred dollars(or whatever). I hope Majors and EVO itself also takes that route. Not charge a high fee or something like that, but $20 is a good start.

Kayoto X, stream cop, of all people kept the win streak alive. Shoutouts to him. Matches were intense. Everybody got close a bunch of times but choked.

Get in that space and then the "smarter players" won't throw fireballs anymore. Isn't that one of Dudley's problems? He gets zoned too easily?

Rolling Thunder actually has full invincibility up until I believe 2 frames after it's active. So if you didn't even trade you probably caught him after he through the first punch when there was no invincibility left.

I dunno, I completely disagree on this one. I actually think it's one of the best ultras in the game simply because of it's many applications. Since it's so fast and travels so far, you can punish a good chunk of the casts sweeps on block, punish Vega's wall dives, Cody's non EX Zonks, Condor Dives, EX Sobats, OS backdashes, I mean the list goes on and on. I use it in pretty much any match-up where an opponent has a fireball, since if they won't throw the fireball up close when you're ready for it, you can bait them by standing full screen then dashing while buffering. Even then, most characters that want to win the footsie battle and zone Dudley out are going to slip up eventually and throw the fireball.

Actually, the smarter players (Viet/Mike) tend to usually throw fireballs in the danger zone, it's just never when you expect them to. Dudley's biggest problem is that he can't really deal with long range low poke spamming without guessing which translates to hard ass time getting in.

I like his U1, it makes fireball characters not throw fireballs. And of course I like to buffer the input during ducking or when whiffing, f. mk. Also punishes a lot of stuff on block and a few moves on hit! Sometimes I'll just walks up fullscreen to a rufus and they'll go for cr hp and I get U1 after they hit me, I think thats the case with seth as well, but not sure. It's at least a good deterrent.
