Yeah. Apparently there's going to be a Poongko Kumite there.

Ah. Bookmarking Saty's post for when I do body him :)

I don't have a big head or anything, and in fact I don't think I'm anywhere near as good of a player as some people think I am, but I don't like the idea of going into a tournament being like "well, all these name players are gonna be there so I'm gonna get bodied." Fuck that. Maybe it's fine to think that way if you're just going to a tournament to chill and have a good time and you're not concerned about winning.

Boo! I'm looking for tourneys in Cali. Haven't been to one in person since West Coast Warzone. I'm itchin' to just go out to one to take in the scene. Anything not in the SoCal area will prove to be too far for me. :( Oh well, as long as I can stream monster, I guess.

Valle just announced SCR, and it takes place December 17-18th. Apparently they're going to do 4 different streams I think.

I have every tip that you've ever needed for Ryu. I'm pretty much the best there is. "Good Combos" are situational, but practice this:

cr. lk, cr. lp, cr. mp xx fireball

note: cr. = crouching, lp and lk = light punch and light kick, xx = cancel

This is a good beginner combo because it doesn't have insanely hard timing, and if you mess of the timing it ends in fireball, which is usually not punishable. Combos that end in hurricane kick, dragon punch, or sweep are very punishable if you mess up the timing on one of the hits in the combo.

I will answer every single one of your questions. Again, I am the best Ryu who knows every answer.

thanks man, good combo for starter. what i noticed is that the timing has to be precise......kinda missed mvc3 for it. lol

is it a good idea to do EX fireball in that combo? and when u said cancel, does that means ryu should fired a fireball midway through his cr. mp?

Not in the US, but still, I completely forgot about Canada Cup. Lap-Chi is trying to make this one huge. He's trying to put together a world 5v5 tournament for SSF4AE featuring the US, Canada, Japan, Korea, and Europe. Winner gets 5k(basically 1k per person)

Putting together a US and Canadian team should be a piece of cake since we here already. But I wonder how he can pull in more Koreans, Japanese, and Euro's. So far Laugh, Infiltration, and Poongko are confirmed for Korea. Mago and Tokido are confirmed for Japan and only Ryan Hart is confirmed for Europe. So they have plenty of spots to fill and people who may be ethnic Koreans but don't live there can't participate in the Korean team for example, you have to still reside from that region to rep it.

Hype!

cancel means that the animation for the cr. mp doesn't have to end before you go into fireball. as soon as the cr. mp hits, it skips the "recovery" animation for where Ryu pulls his arm back in, and just goes straight to the fireball. I do the fireball motion IMMEDIATELY after I press cr. mp.

Any time you combo 2 moves and it's not a cancel, you have to wait until the animation for the first move is finished (after the moves recovery animation is done) until you hit the button for the second move.

Combos in this game are typically more timing sensitive than in MVC3.

Hey, guys. Right now I'm working on a little project. I've been thinking it would be kind of neat if the AE PC community had some type of showcase site for some of the mods, with pics and videos, and maybe tutorials and articles on the side. The admin of the SRK mod wiki is looking forward to what can come out of this. :D

Got the site up and running with some filler content. Lemme know what you guys think.

What did Perfect Legend say? I missed that part.
Well Perfect Legend made it by chance he was already eliminated, but the guy who beat him didn't show so he got to play acekombat by default. Perfect Legend made a crack at Mike for making it to SBO only because the winners couldn't make it.

I just played the noobiest Zangief with 3000PP. If you're just going for points online, I guess main Zangief.

God damn that matchup is so much harder now that escape tatsu is gone. How the fuck do I get out of the corner, once I'm inevitably put there?

Nice, I was hoping for something like this rather than wading through the wiki or srk thread for new mods. Best of luck.

Also I was one of the top 8 donation givers for Marlin Pie's channel so MarkMan is gonna send me something... I have no clue what. I hope it's good and expensive!

I think the kumite is invite-only. I hope you run into him (and win) in the tournament though!

Chun Li has a really easy time vs Zangief. Granted, she'll die in 2 SPDs and an Ultra, but if you play right, you don't even have to worry about that.
