I don't think many would argue this.

Isn't it illegal there? (not that it'd stop people)

And that might be a fair statement on average (maybe), but there are probably better ways to say that without coming across as an arrogant ass. Then again that was cliff notes from them, so whatever.

I don't think many would argue this. Not even an insult; just a general observation when you have a Chun Li player that backdashes every wake up / recovery in top 8.

No, I think it's just you and Mago in that boat :lol

That's true. I didn't say US sucks, but I believe the overall level of play is low compared to Japan. Our top vs their top would be nice to see though (without the BS that happened last time with character switching or whatever).

Farms could still put $100 on it since he wouldn't be doing the betting in Japan :D and I'll take that bet, just for fun.

For Art or any of you other Dhalsim players, is there anything you're afraid of when you fight a Dudley? My secondary is Dhalsim so I should know myself, but it seems like they're extremely easy to keep out. My main is Dudley and I have a very very hard time getting in. If they don't abuse yoga sniper or fireballs, I don't really have anything to react to, and I can't use ducking period from more than a few character distances. It doesn't seem like I can punish any normals with EX MGB, am I stuck with focus attacks?

Also, anyone that can help me with these Dudley matchups would be great:

Dhalsim
Seth
Guile
Deejay
Dictator
Chun Li
Here's a match of Marn's Dudley beating up on LuckyD:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPGIDC0IB9M

I don't think LuckyD knew the matchup that well, though.

Other than focusing to get in on Sim, I've had Dudleys try to counterpoke my limbs if they see it coming. You really gotta be on point with your jumpins, too. I haven't really seen a Dudley jump-in attack that really stuffs most of Sim's anti-air options.

SnowWolf, Taiwan scene cannot be all that bad. I mean that rufus player that traveled with GamerBee practically trained him in the match to the point where he was able to beat justin. that same rufus took me out of the high stakes tournament. Again, Japanese players can be quite cocky sometimes heh

That Rufus player is RB. Yeah, he's definitely good because he tied for 13th place at EVO. I'm Taiwanese myself so I'm not going to talk trash against my brothers :D. But I know nothing about the TW scene so I'll be quiet.

Gods Beard: I'm terrified when Dudley knocks me down or I am in the corner vs him. That's pretty much it. But then again I havent had a lot of time with real good dudley players in SSF4 so far.
I see. I'll just keep grinding out the Dhalsim matches and put pressure on his positioning until I can get in close or bait a teleport. I know I can get full ultra off of a focused yoga sniper from mid-stage, so I guess it's just about playing patient and slowly pushing that wall forward. Learning Dhalsim(a lot of my game plan came from watching you play, so thanks!) taught me a lot of patience and the value of positioning, and watching EVO players like Vangief showed me a lot about how giving up some health to gain that positioning can mean everything.

Practice, practice, practice.

Watching now, thanks!

edit: Wow. Marn is just balls-out with Dudley. I play more like Zangief right now. That was some serious reaction times, really maximized his openings. Took a lot of blows to get in, but didn't let go once he got there. I do feel like Adnan could have done a lot more to keep him out, though.

No, it's bullshit. How is NA comp low when Daigo was pushed to the brink several times? Justin, love him or hate him, he's on the same level as Daigo, and I don't see Mago really beating him, at least not easily.

I don't know what it is with people love Daigo so much and hating Justin, it doesn't make much sense to me. He's a little cocky but he's got the skills to back it up. Jordan was an enormous ass, but he backed it up too. I don't see the difference.

I think it's more of how Daigo is able to pick up on the player's tendencies and work on a strategy for the player within the first round of a lot of his fights than trying to apply a common strategy to every player he goes up against like a lot of NA players do.

You swear Daigo is the only Japanese SF player or something... what the hell is wrong with people? Same with Justin and the US.. please get over Daigo vs Justin. There are far more interesting match ups to be had.

I'd rather see Arturo vs Japan..

The truth is he got further than Eita and Tokido :p

And if somehow we get Wong vs. Mago MM then we can do cash transfer via paypal. $100 it is!

Sorry, but I can't put Wong on Daigo's level. Daigo constantly out places him. Most people love Daigo since he is dominant in which ever game he picks up. He either places first, or second in Evo. Whether it be Super Turbo, 3rd Strike, CvS2, SF4, Guilty Gear, etc... Can't say the same for Justin, except for MvC2. Daigo also pulls out those crowd pleasing comebacks. I still regard Justin as the best US player though, and his past US tourneys have proven that. For that he deserves big respect.

And you basically answered the question yourself. Justin is cocky, but he's not as dominant as Jordan was in their respective careers.

It's understandable is all I'm saying. I'm a Team Spooky guy, so naturally I'll only root for them.

Not gonna argue tourney results. He got further than Valle (took him out, actually) and Art as well but I wouldn't say he's as better than them either.

Let's play on PSN sometime :D

Hey Art, I think after watching your MM this year and last year I might try to give Dhalsim a shot. I know it won't be easy but damn those we're some good matches.

Justin wins nearly every tourney in the US. That's pretty dominant. Every match Justin and Daigo have had has been close. If Daigo was in every US tourney, Justin would beat him often.

I don't see the huge divide between us/japan. Now my home country, canada, has very little to cheer for so at the end of the day I don't really care who wins. The best match for me was that Juri vs Viper match (I think it was Marn). It was beautiful to watch.

Shizza has been really solid comin up to evo. He beat Valle very convincingly, and I have no problem saying he's better than him. The only other person in america with a better chun is ricky, who I believe is the next best player after wong.

I'll pass on the psn games, you'd body my free ass.

What?? Daigo has dominated Justin record wise. Justin lost season's beatings to him, tied him and lost to him at those Fight Club LA casuals, Evo 2k9, Didn't outplace him 2k10, lost to him in evo2k4,... I mean, the list goes on.

That's like saying the Jazz in 97 and 98 were on the same level as the Bulls in 97 and 98.

he's just lying to me :p cause he disagrees with my opinion of one player in the US.

as far as GAF players go I'm pretty sure Farms is s-tier and downplays the shit out of it even though you can see him raping fools anywhere lol

Ok ONE GOOD thing came out of me doin shitty at Evo and gettin hella salty, I figured out how to drink for cheap as fuck at vegas :lol :lol

So if you're gambling at any casino there (well almost all the big ones, some of them are stupid) you can get complimentary drinks. So what you do is hit up the penny slots, put in a dollar, waitress sees you're "gambling" and thus offers you service. You take a one cent bet on the slots every thirty min. or so, and just make sure to tip the waitress at least a buck per drink. $7 for a heineken at the bar? No thanks, I'm hittin up the penny slots! :lol

A better example would be the first to 10 at seasons beatings where Daigo beat Justin 10-2 or something.

More about it, DD-11...hitsugi right in a sense that you're focusing too much on just Daigo vs Justin. Especially you defending Justin Wong's cockiness. If that's okay, what makes Mago's smack talk any worse? Sabin did post earlier that Mago had a ridiculous win record against Justin too.
