IGN can now confirm that Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour costs $9.99 and is a digital-only product. That's significantly cheaper than other Switch 2 games, but IGN has already reported to the complaints from some Nintendo fans that Welcome Tour costs money at all, with many saying it should be Switch 2 pack-in.

"For some people, I think there are people who are particularly interested in the tech and the specs of the system and things like that, for them I think it's going to be a great product. It's really for people that want more information about the system rather than necessarily a quick intro to everything it does.

"And for that reason and just the amount of care and work that the team put into it, I think it was decided that, 'Yeah, this feels like $9.99 is not an exorbitant price. It feels like a good value for what you're getting out of the product.' "

Imagine nickle-and-diming the people who are genuinely interested in the tech of your product and you charge them 10 dollars to explain how a magnet works or what an LCD screen is, lmao.

Pathetic.

I know we can't gain gold coins any more but I wonder if can use them towards sw2 software

This would be an ideal game to use up all the coins I have left towards

Eh, okay. $10 is fine. I was expecting them to charge $30.

Should have been free, though.

This is nickle-and-diming like textbook definition of it 😂.

Unless this is the most in-depth technical showcase designed for budding tech nerds to learn from, you can't justify charging for this.

Absolutely fucking hogwash to charge for this. No explanation will be enough to justify it. Nintendo really sunk in my eyes with this decision. This sort of nickle and diming is appalling.

That's some truly awful wording. I can expect it from Nintendo, but IGN? This is ridiculous.

This is totally bizarre. Meta, Valve, and even Sony have released hardware with free software to show the capabilities recently. It just makes sense.

Congrats to Nintendo on the whole 7 copies this will sell.

"The amount of work and care put into it"? Are you fucking kidding me, like you're gonna give the dev team royalties for every copy sold? Oh, you're not? So then the team that put so much "work and care" would probably rather see it enjoyed by as many people as possible, then right?

Absolutely fucking assclowns. Iwata is rolling in his grave.

If I remember right, they had to be talked out of charging for Wii Sports back in the day. The people who actually cared are long gone…replaced by boring ass suits.

So there was no efforts put into Astro's playroom on PS5?

I know it's a cheap shot but who's not gonna compare ?

And when the Wii launched, the console had many features called channels, free and out of the box.

The WiiU also had many built in features such as Miiverse for free

The 3DS was jammed packed with features

Then came the Switch, BAREBONE AS FUCK and nobody said anything? Not only that but NOTHING new came during all of its lifetime. Not even an internet browser. My freaking PLAYDATE has more features than a switch.

Now they feel that their billionaire company couldn't fit this fucker in for free because their valued employees worked hard?

God damn I'm so stupid, I'll just kneel right now and ask no question

It's a fucking cutesy digital manual with mini games that should be included on the system at no charge. There is no way in hell am I paying for that. I could look past it if it was included as part of your NSO subscription, but they couldn't even do that.
