LIke there is a place for small low priced games, and they can even come from big studios, but I think everyone agrees this just seems more like a system demo. Like the PS vitas Welcome Park, this should just be a free demo to show off the console. If they feel it should be something more, they should've done a better job at making it feel like something more to customers.

Yea this is one of those things Nintendo should prob backtrack on. It's basically a glorified tech demo; a neat one, but in many ways so was Astro's Playroom and SIE made that a free bundle in every PS5.

Especially considering the likely price changes they make due to tariffs, Welcome Tour being a free pack-in just makes even more sense. And that way, with the MK bundle now you get two games instead of one.

Just do the right thing, Nintendo.

The price for Welcome Tour isn't the issue. It's the price in relation & context to everything else around the system pricing-wise, from the hardware to physical games to Game Key cards to digital game pricing etc.

It's a lot of compounding factors and making a game that should probably be a free bundle of a tech demo a $10 paid product, just looks very bad in terms of optics. Now, whether that actually impacts them in a way which ultimately matters (sales), we'd have to wait and see.

Or maybe Nintendo has data showing it won't have much an impact. If the data says otherwise (or if they're just feeling a bit nervous), then they'll make some changes.

Nintendo keeps making L decisions. Look, this game is one of two things

1) a tech demo, in which case it should be free

2) an actual decent game which is fair to charge maybe not full price, but somewhere along a middle range of $30 or $40

The fact they are going through $10 route leads me to believe this should have been a tech demo pack in but are trying to nickel and dime people on stupid shit.

I don't want to see Nintendo fail, but I hope they get humbled a good bit here and a lot of their pricing just completely bombs where they need to change course.

If anyone wonders why nintendo would do this I have several reasons. They know their fans are fools who would sacrifice their first born for them. I don't blame them, when you have fans like this, get that money.

You say this like 100% of people would have bought Astro, which is not the case. This also ignores the fact that even more than VR, Playroom led to Astro Bot which was a GOTY winner last year.

Pack-ins exist for a reason, like I assume this shows off the mouse functionality, maybe people dont know it exists, once they try it, they are more likely to buy Civ 7 or whatever. A tailored experience and polished introduction for new players is a good idea. Honestly I am totally confused by Nintendo's decision here, it makes NO sense.
