Sword Art Online |OT| Batman, now with more wings

Ep 15 jabbing at incestuous taboo was a bit much for me. The who look of the next online game (fairies, really?) is making me want to quit watching now.

What a bummer. Guess I was too attached to Aincrad.

Just watched the first ep, cleared a lot of the confusion that came out of starting at #14 (lol). It was really good, I'll watch some more later.

All females must love Kazuto, it's the rule.

It makes for such a boring show because he's an all-powerful wimp, in my opinion. I don't know if it's a staple for all male leads to stutter incessantly around women at the slightest indication of interest -- but goddamn -- Kaz seems like a clueless a-sexual moron who just happens to be liek so pr0 at MMOs. And he still gets all waifus.

The only real time I've seen him assert himself (for his own interests and not the well-being of ~6K players in SAO) in a big way was when he grabbed the arm of Mr. Lect at the hospital. Only took him 14 episodes.

This show has pretty bad writing at times and the fights are very underwhelming. So can someone tell me how this is still the most fun anime I've watched in ages? I think it's because of the Japanese Batman but I'm not sure.

Episode 15 : I liked it. I knew what to expect, since I read the light novel. I loved the sparring scene. The next arc will be fun to watch.

Wow creepy dude getting hitched to a comatose girl. That pretty messed up.

I like EP 15 though. Seeing the real world is a nice change of pace.

The whole
"Im your cousin and love you thing" needs to stop. Or is it cuz she knows they aren't brother and sister?
Seems a tad confusing.

Also, why is it always a big tower?! Animes about MMos almost always have a Huge tower that must be cleared. Is that a big trend in MMoRpgs in japan?

It's probably easier to draw one big tower and still keep the sense of scale, rather than an entire world with varying kinds of architecture.

So I see there's still more to come with the Fairy Dance arc talk and the show will run for 25 episodes. Nice.

I casually watch some anime with the cruchyroll app on my phone and I had my doubts when I read the synopsis in the beginning and sorta assumed it'd be something like dot.hack, but so far it's pretty good, with ep15 being ok but I still liked it overall. Looking forward to seeing the Fairy Dance arc, but the op sorta had me going whaaat, with the new girls and fairy/pointy ear look everywhere, especially since I was getting ready for like a funeral scene for Asuna and thinking that this was gonna be the last episode.

Yeah EP 15 could have gone a whole different way. With Asuna dead and Kirito trying to find the missing scientist.

About the Tower thing. Its just weird that they talk about the other towns but we never really get to see them. Kirito says they have to get to town 2 for better loot and gear. Seems like an unfinished thought though since we never see them get anything out side of the Boss drops.

Edit: also is there a way I can get the Novel in English? Searching Amazon and coming up short. BUT I did see this awesome custom made sword

Edit2: Sword is made out of PVC not metal. Still cool but not 170 bucks cool lol

I don't understand. A highly anticipated device puts 10,000 people in the hospital requiring extensive and expensive care and ends up killing 4000+ of them. And then the government gives the management of the system to a private company?
Kirito comes out of the hospital, not moving for 2 years and he can jump around like nothing ever happened?
Then they introduce this ridiculous character who plainly states he plans on breaking a number of serious laws and the mc does nothing?

And they're going after the incest crowd too???

What laws is he breaking? Must have missed that part. And Im REALLY hoping they are cousins by marriage(Im going to keep thinking this so im not weirded out lol)

First .. all that company did was to buy that falling company stock and ressources .. the affairs happening in the SAo servers were monitored by some governement agencies as well

In the ep15 kazuto talk about the SAO incident taskforce .. that's part of a group of governement agencies dealing with that stuff ..
For the question why is a private company managing the servers ?
corruption and bribes.. for what reason ? i can spoiler you , but i won't ..there is a logical reason for this ..[you can ask by Pm if you want]

Second , Kazuto was in rehab for 2 months he is far from having fully recuparated but can move ..As said in the ep 15 too , he was muscle training this whole time ( 2 months ).

Third , this is word against word ... furthermore he basicly state that without him , asuna would be dead now ..accusing him without proof when he is basicly a stranger to the familly has no chance of sucess ..it's not like there is any kind of proof of the conversation either...
Everytime i see the complain , kazuto did nothing , i ask : but "what should he have done instead in this situation ?"

i said that i'm a fan too ( in the anime thread )..do you ignore me kayos ... i repeat : I LOVE SAO !!!

I liked crossing field a lot better. And the art for those single CDs were better (but then again these ones have more variation since they're not both of Asuna).

Still trying to get used to the other songs.

I think Crossing Field is good but I really like Innocence because it has the more dramatic and dynamic music changes. At least in comparison.

Yume Sekai is really good and while I think Overfly is good, the former is a slower song and I usually enjoy them more since they're more heartfelt. Overfly is still amazing though.

I don't ignore you lol. I wasn't being entirely serious!

I warmed up to Innocence a lot faster than Crossing Field, so unless I get tired of it faster, I like Innocence better. I guess all of the imouto in the OP helped too, lol.

Crossing field is still my favorite too..

sorry about that ..with the amount of ambiant mean things said about SAO , i felt that it was necessary to tell that i enjoy your updates :)

Man. Yall 2 are the only ones that I know that enjoy CF most out of the two. Out of all the songs thus far though I like Yume Sekai the best. It's really well done.

Started watching this show today and got up to episode 4. I'm really enjoying the show so far and how they aren't afraid to kill all sorts of characters off (reminds me of GoT that way). There are some typical anime tropes that are mildly annoying but I guess it's par for the course with this kind of show. And it doesn't really deter from my enjoyment of the main plot. I'm curious to see how the show progresses and whether or not Krito can escape.

Glad you're enjoying. I do think that SAO caters and follows a lot of otaku tropes but it spins it in an interesting way so it's enjoyable. Not only that but I really enjoy the characters for what they can do and what they do rather than what stereotype they fall under. It's nice and refreshing for me.

EDIT: Apparently some stores are giving out posters for buying the Vol 1 BD/DVD which is coming out soon. interesting.

Poor Sachi. If she weren't dead, I might still be on Team Sachi instead of Team Imouto.

At least you haven't started coming up with combined names for your ships. Korra thread was full of that nonsense.

LOL. I was about to say wouldn't have mattered because you would be losing. Then I remembered. lol.

I don't get it. Remembered what?

And geez, between choosing Sachi and Imouto here, Onodera at MangaGAF, and others like Haruna in TLR and Kuroneko in Oreimo, it seems like I have awful luck in choosing favorites. At least I'm consistent. :V

Lol, I don't really care about shipping by itself. I just like the characters, and they happen to be attracted to certain characters so I have to support their happiness! Western fanbases tend to do that combined naming thing, I've noticed.

Yeah. Kind of ruined it for me.

The incest jabbing is disappointing. I think the one thing I enjoy about SAO is that despite every girl liking Kirito, there's an established relationship between Kirito and one girl essentially making everything else pretty much pointless. Like I said, Suguha and Kirito is a bit disappointing but they can change the execution as to make the entire arc good.

It seems like there's a huge divide about the new game aesthetic. Is there a reason you guys are hating/not liking on the fairy stuff? I'm sort of curious.

I wouldn't mind if it'd started out that way but this seems like a step back IMO. Kirito is a badass. Faires aren't badass

So... I read ln1 and most of 2.

Still have no clue wtf what happened with the ending for book 1.

Do they explain the baddies motive more detailed later outside of 'I want a castle'?

What bugs me about the headset is how SAO was the first game to supposedly support it..... but after SAO's release and the mass deaths that followed there were follow-up games which supported the technology. And not only did the government allow them to be released, but they also found people willing to use the headsets.

I watched the first 10 episodes yesterday, and had a blast. It's not *that* good but definitely enjoyable.

I'll watch the 3 episodes I still haven't saw tonight, and then probably rewatch 14/15 too.

Oh and I like Asuna :)

I figure they guaranteed the lack of brain-frying microwaves and the sheer potential for escapism the VR tech offers did the rest.

kirito will make the fairies look badass ..just you wait

YES

'i want a castle' is just the tip of the iceberg

I don't mean to be a dick, but could you refrain from posting hints and mysterious answers?

I understand that it must be hard on you not being able to talk freely about what you read, but almost nobody here read the novel and this probably don't want to be spoiled...

Since my question was ignored in the main thread I'll ask it here:

Does the new game force them to retain their true look?

Alright, I'm up to episode 12 and it totally turned to shit with that
marriage/kid
arc. What was the author thinking?!

The idea of an IA made to appease emotions and whatnot is alright, but everything else is terrible. It was OBVIOUS there was something wrong with Yui, and how could they grow THAT attached to her in a couple of day?!

Holy damn.

you're not being a dick ..but if a question is asked i'll answer ..it's not like i spoiled anything in my last 2 answer didn't i ?
i'm even considerate enough to tell people to contact me by PM if they want to know more ...
so i'll continue doing what i'm doing while being considerate to everyone enjoyment ( at most ).

For example : chickdigger was refering to the LNs so this was a answer to those..my answer was simple ..for other things i talk about things shown in the anime unless stated by spoilers..
