Soon they will have premiere of the Expanse, and after that they are making book adaptations of Clarke's Childhood's End [miniseries, Charles Dance, Dec 14th-16th], Pohl's Gateway and even the Simmons' Hyperion [both 2016].

I like all of those things!
Too bad its syfy tbh

Sad to hear, the show really got good in season 2.

As others have said it did wrap up quite well with the S3 finale, so at least there's that.

Fucking hell. I really enjoyed this show. Ugh. Dominion and now this. I think 12 Monkeys is the only thing left for me on this channel. Kinda hope they cancel that too so I can just be done with it.

I watched the first series and played the MMO for a bit.
Show was ok, MMO was better than similar sci-fi shooter MMO's

The show was pretty mediocre and felt low budget and high budget (Dark Matter and Killjoys err on the more low budget end of the spectrum) at the same time. I was really surprised it got past season one. Julie Benz was easy on the eyes though.

Would like a show that is on the same tier as the first two seasons of BSG sans angst and excessive interpersonal drama. The second season of SGU was great as well.

Also, fuck SyFy.

Dominion is cancelled too. FML.

Thank God for that. Who the fuck saw the movie Legion and thought "Yeah. that'll make a good show!"

I didn't watch S2 or 3, but Nolan and Irisa were the main reason to watch and had good chemistry. Later on Datak and Stahma were also good. The CG most of the time was laughably bad, but being on SyFy you can't really fault it for that.

The show definitely had its cheesy and cliche crap, but it also had lots of "damn, this is actually pretty awesome" moments. The dream sequence in episode 4 was pretty cool and the entirety of episode 8 was something I did not expect from a show like this. It was really well done.

Lasted longer than the game.

The game had some serious issues but could have been fun with a 2.0. Was expecting Destiny to be like Defiance. LOL.

I was kind of hoping they'd find a way for a season of Nolan and Yewll's Galactic Adventures, but it was clearly meant to be a possible end point, and I'm glad it got that far.

The show really came into its own in season 2.

Lasted longer than the game.
The game is still running...

Shame but at least it had a good season 3 ending so no hard feelings about cliffhangers or whatever and a nice twist to the characters development

It was a fun show when they weren't writing themselves into corners. At least it went out respectably, unlike the game which was denied a good death when they went nerf crazy with the changes designed for ftp.

I never did watch the show, but I really enjoyed the game. Hope the show's cancellation doesn't mean the end of the game as well.

There's the Expanse, based on the book series which I'm pretty excited for. Then Killjoys and Dark Matter. Personally I like Dark Matter much more, but many gaffers enjoyed Killjoys.

z nation, 12 monkeys.... nbcu's cable channels make a load of cash, thats how they can invest in all of these shows.

Honestly, the conclusion was such that I don't really feel sad about cancellation. It felt like they knew it was coming and did the best with what they had.

How much of the show did you watch? Because I haven't seen the movie, to me it looked awful.

The show, on the other hand, is very different. Rather unfair to be glad it got cancelled because you didn't like the movie.

God damn what terrible news, defiance was genuinely a great show and in my mind improved on each season it had.

Surprisingly adult in its themes and had some of the best characters on tv, Datak and Stama Tar were amazing and will be truly missed by me as they were so engaging.

Time to bring back Farscape and SG:U!

Wait, no? Ok, continuing to not watch Syfy.

Stargate Universe was really a solid show, first Stargate series I watched since the original. Would've loved seeing more of it.

Defiance was good too, still need to watch Season 3 though. I don't mind them ending series if they wrapped it up, why bother going on if it just ends like Prison Break or Heroes??

They also cancelled Alphas and Haven

seriously... what now?

Out of things that I want to watch [or at least check out], SyFy still has a lot of good content ahead of them:

Returning:
13 Monkeys
Killjoys
Dark Matter

Coming this year:
Magicians [book adaptation]
The Expanse [book adaptation]
Childhoods End [book adaptation]

Coming next year:
Hyperion [book adaptation]
Gateway [book adaptation]
Ringworld [book adaptation] [there were no public updates on this project for more than a year and a half, maybe they won't make it]

I got halfway through the first episode, realized it was based on the shit film, and turned off my TV in disgust. At least the movie had Paul Bettany...

Kind of expected, honestly it ended on a great episode that felt like a proper finale so I'm happy enough, average season 1 and pretty good season 2 and 3.

Not a good time for St. Louis.

All the political unrest. The Cardinals lose to the Cubs. The Rams are almost certainly moving to LA. We have a potential nuclear disaster (a garbage fire is possibly going to set a radioactive waste dump on fire). And now the only show on TV set in St. Louis is getting cancelled.

I couldn't stand SG:U, they lost me (and the people I watched SG1/Atlantis with) after a few episodes when it was appearing to be awfully like exactly what they had taken the piss out of in SG1 episode : 200.

It's not a surprise they cancelled SG:U though. They cancelled atlantis to fund it, and then it went to have much worse viewership. I can only assume they regretted doing that.

I couldn't get past the first couple of episodes.

I think they need to bring Stargate back in some form.

Last they said, they were planning on scrapping the entire TV series canon and having the guy who made the original stargate movie make a sequel to that. Personally, sounds like a terrible idea to me.

Wikipedia suggests it's to do with the franchise changing hands (MGM sold it to Spyglass Entertainment apparently). They probably can't revive atlantis now (Jason Momoa is probably a lot more expensive) and SG:U was already less sucessful than the prior shows. Other than the bad reboot idea they're apparently going with, I don't know what they could really do to revive it.

Aiii

So not worth it
It is stuff like this, Caprica, Stargate that makes me worry that these fools get to make The Expanse series... Those books are too much fun to get cancelled after two seasons.

They're never cancelling The Expanse. Do you know how much money Syfy's put into it? It'll do the full run without a doubt.

Parallax

best seen in the classic "Shadow of the Beast"
All three were essentially done. Eureka had a great ending, Warehouse 13 probably went on slightly longer than it should've and Defiance's last season finale was a series finale for the most part.

i wouldnt call it great.
