Take-2 WILL be able to buy Visual Concepts as a part of the ESPN agreement

They stated this in the conference call. They can gain a larger share of the entire assets and they are in this for the long haul.

They've also said that percentage wise, the Xbox version was selling better than the PS2 (related to userbase). However, now it's leveled out and has returned to normal distributions.

Cool... EA finally has something to worry about. :)

I wouldn't have minded a SCEA buyout though (to replace 989),but this way at least VC gets to stay multiplatform.

Found it interesting that Take-Two didn't know oft-hand how long the original (Sega) agreement with ESPN was. The analyst said it was up in 2005, Take-Two responded they now have the license for the long-term. Looks like next year could well be the last for the Sega US sports line-up.

Since I got stick from deluded Sega fans three months ago: Smug B'stard.

Doesn't Sega and VC have to agree to the buyout before anything goes down? Since ESPN is doing good, Sega might choose to keep VC.
