Tales of Xillia Day 1 Edition (NA, EU), Collector's Edition (NA, EU) announced

On the website, There is a US link in the Language selector (top right) but it doesn't work when I click on it.

Wonder if that means US will be getting it even though it's a registered by Namco Europe website? I don't know, just throwing out a guess.

Hah, I keep a page monitor on several sites. Namco's US PS3 site just updated.

It was for Armored Core Verdict Day lol

Maybe they are in the process of updating the site currently (Xillia isn't even on there at all yet)

Hmmm we should be getting the statue edition too, since they have plans to bring it over to United States... right?

I don't care about the Milla Maxwell figure as most CE figures tend to be garbage. I am interested in the Day One edition.

I will say it's very likely you guys will get it. They talked about bringing it over to the US and the website has a link which isn't working for North America so it seems pretty certain... but we'll see.

Dang, it's so weird hearing Jude's voice being so deep. Ahaha. And I'm with ya guys; the other figure released in Japan is kinda better.

Oh, Jin = Spirix or something now? Kinda works.

Kinda weird watching these battle gameplay videos. Just because they're getting hit a lot and seem to refuse to block. Like I've said before, nearly every single character in Xillia is broken. >.>

Alvin's video shows his charge attack and tendency to break enemies' guards when he's linked to someone.

Elize's video should show her Tipo On/Off abilities, spellcasting and melee attacks. Having Tipo On will allow her to increase the strength of her magic, and she'll get some bonuses + a shorter cast time (this is more convenient to me, tbh). Having Tipo Off will allow her to cast spells better as Tipo begins to attack enemies keeping them away from her. Tipo Drain is her link attack where Tipo will suck away energy from enemies and give some TP/HP back to the character who you're controlling.

Do you even need Elize/a healer character for Xillia or Xillia 2?

Alvin and Elize sounds great. Milla sounds fantastic.

Pre-ordered the CE, can't wait for August now.

Rowen takes the cake, for me. He will be in my party all the time, unless he is a leave and return type character, or if he doesn't show up until late game or something.

Rowen sounds fantastic based on that vid from that event alone. I can't wait to hear more of him :D

For one, Jude is a healer himself. You can solo the entire game with him on any difficulty without very much trouble partially because of this (the other reason is his vanish dodge, which allows you to easily get out of enemies' way).

Second, I do feel like Elize is essential for healing a little later on and if you're on higher difficulties (this is partially because of the way the bosses are designed in this game).

You can get around the "well, I don't want to put these characters in my party!" mentality by later being able to swap people in and out of the party at will after you get more than four people on your team. Press R3 and use the D-Pad to swap people into the party. As for Xillia 2, not at the moment, though she has been helpful for several bosses when she does have the healing skills I want. However, again, Jude's still a staple and mainstay on the team.

I do have a post written up about character positioning and some menu stuff for Xillia written up somewhere on GAF. Let me fish it up. EDIT: Here you go. You do get more positioning options than Graces, so I think people will like this a little better.

August is perfect. I'll be done with The Last of Us by then and there's nothing else coming out I'm interested in around that time.
Can't wait to play this. I hope zavvi upgrades my pre-order to day 1 edition.

How are the trophies in this game? I still haven't platted Graces. :(
Boring as all hell, because they're easy and tedious. They don't really take a lot of skill. Xillia 2's trophies are the same way. Platinuming Xillia twice does not make me want to platinum it again, nor Xillia 2, for that matter. Not at the moment, anyway.

"Collect X amount of these"
"Watch X amount of skits!"
"Do 90 sidequests!"
"Get a 100-hit combo!" (this is easier than you think; like I said, the characters are broken)
"Get everyone to level 99 + use every orb on their Lilial Orb chart!"
"Get 800 of those sparkly things on the field"
"Use these skills 150 times" (upped to 450 in Xillia 2)
"Buy take-out food and feed it to your party 800 times!"

...and so on, and so forth.

Still no link to this on Namco's site or pricing details.

Oh yeah? Is that the one with the Milla figure? I don't want the figure of her, but I want everything else.

The Collector’s Edition will feature limited edition packaging and include the TALES OF XILLIA game software, a limited edition Milla Maxwell figure, artbook and a special music selection CD. Players will be able to pre-order and purchase this exciting package at participating retailers and enjoy all the official TALES OF XILLIA content and limited edition items as they plunge into the sensational TALES OF XILLIA storyline and gameplay action.

OK cool. Jude and Milla seem like staples. If Elize isn't necessary than adding in Alvin then either Rowen or Leia could be cool.

How many hours did it take to platz?
Graces F took me 150 hrs, lol.

Hmm. I guess I could resell the figure if I must, I guess we need to see it get officially announced for NA. Hopefully we can preorder it on Amazon or Gamestop.
