Same. I thought 4 would be enough but considering how cheap they are it's tough to not splurge on more.

It's not like you need to actually play all of the accounts.

My new policy is to make a new premium account everytime they update with new crates. That way I get a new account and a couple keys to try out the new crates.

Haha, it took me $345 before I hit one Unusual in the flash app. Granted it was a sexy one (Sunbeams Brain Slug). With my luck I should just not buy keys.

Nobody should, really. Keep your keys or trade them for hats that will appreciate in value. Then repeat until you actually have something valuable. 1% odds are only acceptable if you don't mind burning a lot of money. Most Vegas games have better odds than that. Those that have found unusuals will admit how lucky they are, I'm sure. That's really the point of that Flash game: you could get an Unusual early...or after you've invested $300 real-life dollars. Or more.

You could get lucky like Dechaios...or you could find yourself spending the equivalent of 2.33 refined on items that will be worth significanly less than said metal...like the other 98% of crate openings. If you have the gambling itch, don't let me stop you...but do yourselves a favor and stop after Unusual find #1.

Lol, this reminds me so much of the beginning stages of gambling addiction. Tread carefully, friends.

I get addicted to games too easily, so I stay away from gambling. The one time in my life I went gambling was on a casino ship group trip. I mostly walked around and watched, and finally decided to try the Blackjack table since I actually knew the rules of that game. I paid the minimum bet, got two blackjacks in a row, and immediately walked away with $30, if I recall correctly. Lifetime real money gambling win rate: 100% =P

Congrats, Dechaios! I didn't think you could find Unusual Party Phantoms since they changed it to a Misc either, maybe they just changed it recently.

People are ravenous for the Misc unusuals, because it means they can stack effects (Burning+Scorching looks really neat.)

Idling another 8 hours and still nothing, This time i used my own server.

I'm going to give up. Either i hit the cap without knowing or it just really hates me. Hopefully on thursday and friday i can start idling for new items.

If that still doesn't work then I'm outta ideas!

Will leave it on for the rest of the day while i'm at work for shits and giggles. Idling has never been so much fun.

I wouldn't mind playing on the gaf server since TF2 is getting some love now, But i hate being the guy with a 200+ ping.

Just got a new mouse that feels awesome so far compared to my old one (got the MX518). I was just wondering, does anyone use 'raw input'? I tried it out with 1.0 acceleration, and the best way I could describe it would be to say it felt "floaty."


@evil - The week of the Uber update, I didn't get a single drop on my main account.

i hope everyone uses raw input. Also, any acceleration is terrible. I keep it disabled.

I felt like I should've mentioned this earlier, but, you probably ran out of drops last wednesday or thursday already.
Don't even try idling again until after this coming wednesday.
I've seen accounts get as little as 5 drops. Sucks but all you can do is wait until drops reset.

I use raw input and 3.97 sensitivity. Seems a little high, though, maybe I should turn it down or at least make a zoomed sniper config or something.

zoom_sensitivity_ratio will set your sensitivity while zoomed in relative to your normal sensitivity.

Sensitivity isn't really a good measure of anything since it means nothing without knowing your mouse's DPI. I recall reading that most 'pro' players set their sensitivity so that moving the mouse about 9 inches does a 360 degree turn. mine is actually a little more sensitive than that (I do a full turn in about 8.5 inches) but it feels good on most classes.

Argh, once again having trouble charging money on a new account to make it premium. Called the bank and confirmed the problem is on Steam's end. Tried 3 different browsers, the in-Steam payment option, and used my card both regularly and through paypal. Still no luck!

I'd likely have so many more accounts if Steam didn't make it so hard.

Who knows if it's true, but I read on the Steam forums that you can only use the same credit card for a limited amount of accounts.

If people want unusuals (especially specific unusuals) It'd probably be better to just head over to SourceOP and just buy unusuals outright.

Well I'm currently on 4 accounts on the same card. Assuming I used paypal to make 2 of them process that'd add up.

Thanks for the info. This shouldn't be too tough to solve now that I know the problem. :)

So what's the deal with TF2 retail copies on stores now, then? Is it still okay for a store to sell a F2P game now for 20 bucks just to convert the game into premium? Just a thought I had...

Someone said you can't tie your credit card to more than two accounts. I guess it's a fraud prevention tool. Maybe buy some gift cards to get around it?

Are you that Sandbox method? I made an idle account last night and didn't bother to create multiple directories. Steam just recognized my previous install and copied over some files. The idle account's directory is only 930MB.

Now that I have an idle account I kinda don't wanna pay to make it premium. It's like "Oh hey, I got those items. That's neat! But I don't really NEED them." I can't believe how easy it is.

Oh, shit. I had read that putting it at 1.0 was the way of disabling it. Hell, I better go back and test things out. Maybe that's why it felt smoother but more floaty.

I've got 4 accounts going, 1 of which I created today and after 2 hours of text idling running 2 at the same time, I've got 2 drops on 1 and 1 drop on another. I also had 9 drops yesterday.

I use :
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 440 -textmode -nosound -window -nopreload -novid -dxlevel 81 +map "itemtest"

Do you get any unusuals/strange's or hats via the random drops too?

- Added a music clip from Meet the Medic to the menu startup music list.
- Fixed a case where stickybombs could sometimes damage enemies on the other side of a wall.
- Updated duels to apply a short duel ban to the loser if they team switched or disconnected during the duel.
