Team Fortress 2 |OT4| Official Halo Thread of Polearms and High Fashion

Not sure if he's even played Call of Duty. There were 2-3 perfectly good Call of Duty games without rifle grenades and they were pretty damn popular.

Nor is the Hundred Hand Slap/ Blanka's stupid electricity/ LIGHTNING LEGS a tool only for inexperienced players, they're a valuable part of the characters. You can buffer your charge attacks while also doing damage or forcing your opponent to block. You won't find an experienced player who doesn't do that sort of thing, because good luck doing any combos in SFIV with Honda or Chun-Li if you don't know how to buffer. So no, they are not crutches for inexperienced players, they're easy attacks that low level players can use, but experienced players can use in a much more effective, completely different way. Which is exactly what they should be. Probably a better example (which would fit into his FOO category later) is reversals with invincibility frames, by which I mean Ryu's Shoryuken. Lower level players spam it whenever possible and won't be as punished as much for it, experienced players find much more effective uses for it, but will still use it out of desperation/ get hit by it because it's a ridiculously effective attack. So some people just never learn to use anything other than Ryu. But somebody who sticks with Lightning Kick or Hundred Hand Slap without knowing the effective use of it is going to get stomped over and over until they realize they don't know what they're doing and neither did anyone they ever beat.

Whereas the grenade launchers in Call of Duty are a shallow, brute force skill equilizer. More experienced players may choose not to use the grenade launchers, but that doesn't prevent them from getting killed by high-speed, explosive insta-kill projectiles.

Hehe @ the comic

Lol @ the Holiday pack

$20 for 3 things?

It has a holiday version of the Balloonicorn and the Balloonicorn costs $17 in the store. The price was hardly a surprise to me.

And screw my bloodclot/swollen leg, I'll be playing some TF2 tonight. I can't even make it into work today because of the blizzard we're having here in Iowa right now anyway.

A sticky bomb launcher that pushes people back, shoots slower, and does less damage?

Sounds much too complicated to focus on when playing medic.

Valve adds new things to the store to support community map makers but doesn't add any new community maps.

TF2 team please add some more community maps. We only got 6 new maps this year, 4 of which were MVM. A couple of community maps could round that out nicely.

Very situational. As long as the primary fire doesn't use metal to (ala widowmaker), could be okay, but I don't think I'd be using it's alt fire too often.

Is this a grenade launcher? Seems kinda...weak.

Reminds me of those Magic: the Gathering cards that give you protection from shit. That's gonna be really complicated to play, I think.

Rescue Ranger could be pretty useful if the repair bolt knocks off sappers. Would be a soft counter to spies.

"Alt-Fire: Use metal to pick up buildings from long range" = big buff for Sentry-Jumping if it works like I think it will. Although marked for death makes it pretty useless offensively.

The clip reductions aren't that much of a tradeoff since this would definitely be a weapon to use with a Level 3.

This gun doesn't really make him better, it just changes how the grenade launcher works...
I am unconvinced that there would really be a vastly different option that would not be better or inferior. And if someone added cluster bombs you could still say that "changes how the grenade launcher works" if you're going to use that language. :p

Im really digging the loose cannon. You can prime it for short, medium, or long range. And while it does take a damage penalty by hitting surfaces you can bounce the cannon balls off of walls
