So I downloaded the demo the other day and this is one of the best 3D platformers I've ever played.
Also the drawing on the pad is so wonky. You're looking at the screen, but you should be looking at the pad. And you feel like you need a stylus. Every shape pretty much ends up like random blob instead of a crafted one and then a kid immediately sticks it 40 times which is funny but not really what the game thought was going to happen.
You can also connect a smartphone with the Playstation App downloaded to it to the PS4 and use the Tearaway companion app, which lets you draw on your smartphone and send the drawing to the game. I would that you/your kids will have a much easier time drawing that way (especially if your phone has a large screen and/or has a stylus).
Isn't their a mobile app you can use for drawing instead? Think it allows some additional stuff going by some tutorial messages but haven't tried it TBH.I had to supervise my kids playing this because of two problems:
there is definitely more than one bug that requires a level checkpoint restart. If we found one in the first two hours there has to be more. (an apple dispensing machine wasn't running so no apple - nothing to throw). Plus at some points it is a mystery what has to happen next and I have to grab the controller off them and experiment systematically.
Also there is just a little too much stuff going on sometimes. Throwing things, throwing things into the screen, hitting targets, etc etc. It all gets just a little bit too much. The current goal is sometimes not really clear the first time round.

That said, it's delightful visually in many places and really a lofty goal media molecule set they just didn't quite pull it off.
So the vita exclusive pulled from vita and put on PS4 with a lot of care and effort, only for it to be ignored again for once again Sony failing to advertise their own games? What a shocker!
I got pretty lucky, I wasn't really looking to pick this up but I was at a goodwill and they had it new sealed for $15!
It was labeled defective because the disc was loose in the case. No scratches, installed fine.
I had he same impression. Plus there were two points in the demo where bugs forced me to restart from the checkpoint so I could progress. For that to happen twice in such a short space of time doesn't feel good. But yeah in general I just didn't get the feeling I got from the Vita version.Couldn't get in to the demo. Just didn't have the same feeling aa the vita version did and actually made me want to replay the vita version for the little touches (like your face in the sun, fingers popping through into the world when you touch the back of the vita).
I can verify that it's super easy to draw on a Note3 with the stylus!
I couldn't find any guides. For that red present and 10 confettiAnyone know of any good guides for getting 100%? I've already spent like an hour searching for a red present and 10 confetti on maypole fields. Don't think I can do that for each level.
That's weird, my game also was loose inside the case when I got mine in the mail.
Between this and all the reports of screwed up discs, I have a suspicion that whatever facility was printing these games fucked up really badly.
My copy from amazon was also loose inside the case! Probably not a coincidence, it's the first time I've encountered that in years!
Your face is also in the sun in the PS4 just for the record.and actually made me want to replay the vita version for the little touches (like your face in the sun).
I wonder why games like this and Puppeteer are so niche these days, they seem like they should appeal a lot wider than they do.
Most people just have shitty taste.

I assume only if you have a camera, which I'd wager most do not have. ....
Or a smartphone, that everyone and their dogs have.
Man I really want to love this game, but I hate not being able to jump whenever I want.

Having the camera definitely gives the game parity with the Vita version. The unfortunate thing is the camera's support. I'm sure there are more games, but I can only think of PlayRoom and Tearaway that use the video feed.I do wish they had at least asked you to take a selfie with your phone and just put that static image for the You sun. Obviously nowhere near the novelty of having the live video feed, but for many of us who don't have a camera it would've been a nice alternative to a completely white image.
Stick with it,still I maintain its a weird decision for a platformer - seems to be turning a substantial number of people off here, and I'm sure many more consumers who don't post here, who stop before they realize it's just about to happen.you get the jump ability really early in the game.

Been heading back through to try and get 100%. Going pretty well so far. I do wish all cutscenes were skippable. That would speed things up a bit.
Nope! Some of the gopher escorts are harder than others, but they are still a hair-pulling experience.are there some new abilities that are unlocked later that make getting the Misplaced Gopher from A->B much easier?

The way I see it, though, the gopher escorts are heck of a lot better than the "Don't Die in X Level" trophies in the Vita version.
how does buying soundtracks work on psn? what file format and what can i play it on?Finally started playing this yesterday. It's so damn charming, I'm going to buy the soundtrack off PSN. And maybe I'll actually get round to getting the plat this time round.

cool, seems good enough as I can't find the soundtrack anywhere else.Good question. I got the OST via my pre-order of the Crafted Edition and just checked. It has an option to "Download Track List" and will copy the music over to a usb drive. The music is put into a 'MUSIC' folder on your flash drive and the tracks are 320k MP3s.

Try and 100% complete the game. I'm sure your opinion will change. It is beyond easy and it is really short, I am already half way after a few hours played.
This game is so freaking charming. It is beyond easy and it is really short,
