So wait, they're doing Kirai, Dimension X, probably Shredder again, plus Bebop and Rocksteady?

They're really going all-in, huh... Well, that's commendable. It looks dumb, but "fun while drunk" dumb.

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
Glad they are just going crazy with this and making the Turtle vehicle shoot out man-hole covers like the toys of old.

One problem I see, Beebop and Rocksteady don't look as intimidating as they should be, *because* the turtles themselves are so massive. Maybe it's intentional.

well its going very much for the cartoon

as in, they're not gonna be as "intimidating" as just comic relief

im super glad this is the way they're presented and not all "OMG shadowy" as if it was some big reveal

they're supposed to be dumb

Going fun, instead of story heavy. Good call. They could never challenge the original movie with the creators they had, but going for a bigger, flashier Secret of the Oooze is definitely something they can pull off.

Say what you will about the first movie, but the Snow Chase scene was a really great action scene. I was expecting to hate it based on the trailers, but I was kinda blow away. Looking back on it now, it feels really similar to the chase scenes from Fury Road. Obviously not on that same level, but still features the same sort of acrobatics.

I'm talking about the whole self-serious schtick like the Transformers movies. This looks more light-hearted than that, feels like the Nicktoon Turtles.

I don't know, I guess since the '87 cartoon wasn't my first introduction to the Turtles this stuff doesn't impress me much?

Throwing B&R and Dimension X into a trailer does anything for me unless you show something actually interesting and new being done with them.

it's fantastic. made an argument for it somewhere on here when I first saw it

probably Shredder again...

Isn't that him in the trailer? Thought he was the younger looking guy who pulls the claws out for Bebop and Rocksteady. I assume he's younger looking because of falling with the ooze at the end of the first movie.

They can be both dumb and intimidating, in fact them being dumb can actually make them scarier.

they could, but going by the trailer they're droppin everything gritty-ish or self serious

I get what you mean but im totally fine with this route

also, Rocksteady looks pretty big smashing up cars like they're nothing

Why are you guys saying its down? It's up for me.

Anyways, it looks like a fun stupid film to me. Kasey looks cool. I like how Bebop and rock steady look and the comedy will be on par with the last one.

Besides the turtle designs, which I just can't like, it looks better than the first one. And its nice to see them dip their toes in the 80's universe.

Seriously though they know they could drop the steroid turtles and the superhuman strength and no one would mind right?

As it stands that's my biggest obstacle to seeing this.

Seriously, I turned off the first movie when they got to cyber shredder.

This however looks looks like it might be ok. Baxter Stockman, Casey Jones, bebob and rocksteady. Why wasn't this the first movie?

Looks so fun. I'm glad there is a TMNT movie finally embracing the sci-fi side of the TMNT universe. Krang will be in this without a doubt. I like that they're just going full on cartoon mode and not giving a shit about anything. They've embraced the stupidity of the TMNT world, and I think the movie will benefit from it.

The TMNT2 that we deserved.

well, first movie definetly has it's audience as it was a big hit

it's easy to say from our perspective but there's a bunch of kids with toys of the turtles that look like this and whatnot

can't blame them for being on-lock now. changing the outfits is already somewhat satisfying

Like Transformers this might be kinda fun if you just turn off your brain before watching. Good to finally see Bebop and Rocksteady in a movie. 1990's me would have loved this.

It's not the look so much as the fact the enemies have to be scaled up to make a good action scene and that they can't even remotely be ninjas.

I highly doubt the audience would care.

Fuck it, I'm in. I didn't make it halfway through the first movie but this looks dumb enough that it could be fun for someone who remembers the cartoon.

Do yourself a favor and watch the second half. The only reason its good is because you slog through the setup to get the great punchline: cool ass kung fu. The movie has better fight scenes the than the trilogy combined. Choreography is really on point for the Splinter vs Shredder fight and the two big turtle fights with Shredder. Also if you really do rewatch it, watch for how all the people react to anything Meagan Fox says. It's like the director told them to treat her( and by extension the plot) like the biggest fucking idiot, and her bad acting really sells it. This trailer didn't look any better comparatively than the first one, especially the outdoors water shot out of nowhere looked strikingly familiar to the snow scene from the original, and the editing looks just as shaky. Luckily the overbearing origin story is done and gone so now they can get to the good stuff, goofy alien shit.

If you mean "ninjas" as "shadowy spy/assassin", only the original black & white turtles fit that bill, and maybe the ones from the first movie. Even the somewhat more serious 2K3 turtles were more Martial Artists than straight ninjas. They're closer to the Naruto brand of ninja than the Ninja Scroll one.

I would still love to know if the theories are true about him originally being Shredder, and then them deciding late in the game to split Sacks and Shredder into two different characters. It seems like it was true given some of the stuff Fichtner said in interviews beforehand, but I'd love to hear the full story from someone involved.

CG doesn't look too clean. Probably still in post.

Megan Fox still looking good though.

Also, is this a crossover with The Avengers? Is there now an Alien Portal Over New York City Cinematic Universe?

Interestingly enough, Daredevil and TMNT share a lot of creative origins :)

Man too many people live in the past . My son loved the first got super excited over this trailer should be fun.

You know all the stuff that people here are reacting positively to is stuff they're pulling directly from the old cartoon/comics, right? Like, this movie is as much to blame for living too much in the past as its detractors.

I meant more movie one, yeah. The Turtles being smaller than their enemies and most humans in general is a big part of what makes them, them. At least for me.

Sheamus as Rocksteady? Sure. Tyler Perry though as Baxter? I mean. . .left field. Seriously this is Batman: Forever level casting right here.

im pretty sure this was confirmed someplace

movie was very close to doing some real shitty stuff

I bet they'd have changed weaponized foot too if they had the time given the overall reception
