TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Does anyone know if there's resolution issues with the pc version of the game? I swear the game looks blurry, as if it's set to 1080p instead of my native 1440p that it's showing. Whenever I close the game, programs like Steam are also resized from fullscreen to something that looks roughly like the size of a 1080p box

How the FUCK do you block Kazumi's rage move?

sorry, just raging because I can't win a single match in online

Hold back. Same principle applies for every Rage Art with the exception of Akuma's which you jump out of.

Rage DRIVES is a different story, but Kazumi's can still be blocked standing I believe.

Wait, really? I must have buffered an input w/out realizing it which caused me to not block the move. I just assumed it was like Akuma's rage art where you had to jump over it, but that ended with my face on the floor so yea.

Man am I loving this game.

I love that although there is tons to learn, it's stuff you learn by playing not by labbing. The execution is so lenient compared to something like Street Fighter. I have some of the worst execution of anyone on the planet, I find even the 3 frame links in SFV incredibly hard to time and pull of consistently, yet after 10 minutes in the tekken lab I can consistently do a 9 hit juggle combo with little issues.

It's so nice to be able to focus on learning the important stuff movement, tactics, match ups, spacing and the like instead of grinding execution for hours and hours and getting nowhere.

You made the mistake of thinking the exception was the norm :)

All Rage Arts(except Akuma's) are hits so they can be blocked. Only special cases that come to mind are Lucky Chloe's which hits low so you have to block it crouching, and Jin's which hits HIGH so you can actually crouch under it and punish it there because the pushback from regular blocking means you might not be able to punish in time.

I am not sure why they couldnt just reuse the same engine and scale it up to the specs.I dont see any benefits granted by UE4 relative to their old tech.

Probably to be able to easily target PC as a platform. And their old engine was probably optimized for the PS3 architecture. Also, to avoid future R&D costs with new engine features. Hopefully when they get more skilled at UE4 (or mod it) we'll see things like improved hair.

Ranked to a pathetic Mentor as Kazuya

I noticed my devil transformation in rage mode bugs out when I use a custom costume with glasses. His head is just invisible lol

Pretty disappointed with the customization options, doesn't really seem to be much there

Nope. Lead woman in Urban Chaos from 1999 sprang to mind, possibly others before that:

Damn just 1. I sort of doubt before 99. Black women in games are scarce now and it was even worse back then, plus adding in a specifically black hairstyle when white and Japanese developers often opt to straight hair...

So have they patched and fixed PS4 yet so we can play effortlessly online? Or give a timing yet?

Was hoping for Tuesday, alas..

What does everyone think of the animations/physics? This could be my imagination, but I feel characters feel stiffer/heavier/less snappy than TTT2.

It's either the character limbs, hair, clothes, or a combo.

There are a bunch of things animation wise which IMO are uglier than TTT2:

- The biggest offender is the recycling of the screw attack animation regardless of your aerial opponent's orientation. Even if you do your screw attack when the opponent is back-turned it still copies the same screw attack animation just translating horizontally in the opposite direction which has the most bizarre looking animation in regards to rigid body motion. It was like this in vanilla and it's a real shame they didn't make a new animation for these situations in FR or even console.

- The same principle as above but in regards to the "flop-over" animation from moves like Bryan's qcb+4 kick off and Ling's BT 4 Mistrust. If your opponent is Face up/Feet away and you do the animation it recycles the same flop over animation but the body just translates in the opposite direction. This looks even more annoying at the wall since they animation takes precedence over a wall splat so it just looks like the opponent flops around despite the wall clearly blocking its way.

- The floor break animation where the opponent bounces several feet in the air can definitely give that feeling of making them appear weightless.

In each of these situations, TTT2's animations definitely fare better IMO.

They recycled a lot of animations in other words.

Love that they let you customize the for the first round and final round, thanks to the Jukebox I can do stuff like use Tekken Tag's School theme for the first round, and the Tag 2 remix as the final round. Or Snow Castle from 5 with the Tag 2 remix as the final round.

I really like the music in 7 though overall, not many stages I want to switch, just making a playlist of alternate music.

Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost

Had a crash earlier, and one just now that came up with this notice when trying to go into training mode. Anyone else experienced this?

Every time I use a Super/Rage art in treasure battle the colors stay permanently washed out and gray until I quit and restart the mode. Is this normal?

Finally beat Akuma. Holy shit. I wonder if I did die 1,000 times before doing so...

Cheesed it. I don't feel accomplished. I'm don't feel proud. I won't praise the amazing gameplay. No skill at all was used as it was hit or miss (quite literally) when the game decided if my hits would connect or not. Bullshit.

Just relief now. Anything unlocked with the hardest difficulty if I decide to try another thousand times?

Can someone give me a quick win in friend match so I can get the platinum trophy? Between the network errors and my suckitude, I'm losing patience lol. Thanks in advance.

I feel stupid, Aris made me realize that I may have been messing up the Josie combo because I wasn't resetting after each attempt. Now I just wanna get off work to test this out.

I see what you guys mean about Katarina being really beginner friendly. I suck at fighting games in general and the complexities of Tekken are something else, but I'm starting to get the hang of a couple combos and stuff (just in practice mode for now). If I keep this up I might be half competent one of these days :p

Yup Katarina is REALLY easy to learn. Her combos take effort to screw up and she generally has some solid tools.

Great character to get better at Tekken with. I plan on using her exclusively till I've got a very solid grasp on the fundamentals.

Then I'm learning Claudio, Asuka and Kazumi.

I mean if I can do combos then she must be easy :p

Ever play the DOA games? They have animations that apply to pretty much every context you can imagine

This is one of the most addictive games I've played this past decade. The only ones that are in that league are Overwatch, GTAV, T6 and T5DRO.
