Here is a universally agreed upon bad design that most would agree is "overdesigned".



Multiple belts and accessories hanging off his body, too many colors, multiple pieces of clothing hanging off his body, oversized weapon with a chain hanging off the end that seems to do nothing and distracts from whatever the weapon is supposed to be. None of the Tekken fighters really exhibits this. They have a few pieces of decorative items or detailing on their clothes, and non-plain articles of clothing. There is not much going on. They have simply moved on from plain pieces of clothing that they have been doing for decades (Street Fighter is doing the same thing).

And more, they HAD the regular same old clothing in vanilla Tekken 7. People got tired of plain ol' gi that every mainline warrior wears in every fighter Heihachi and asked for something different for a change. And most like it.

Lmao I was literally about to use the same exact picture. But I agree with you. The designs are definitely more stylized than before and it's fine if you don't like them, but calling them over designed is a huuuuuuge stretch. The designs in this game are very tame compared to Japanese standards.

First rule is that 10 hit combos are useless :p

Air juggles are what you want to practice for combos.

So spicy. Everything is amazing.

I think I'm going to run a few characters through the kyu's before reaching 1st dan in Ranked, just to prevent the auto 1st dan thing from happening. Breezed through with Leo, did pretty well with Katarina, and now I'm on Josie (whose combos and PowerCs I need to learn).

Aaaaahhhhh its amazing, the netcode is so good. I've had 2 yellow bars that were very playable.

this game is sick

I thought I had to know more moves and backdash cancels and shit but I had fun just playing two matches in warm up mode against an eddie and a gigass.

i kept trying to counter one of gigas' charge moves with asuka but i guess its one of the exceptions.

I honestly think Tekken is easier to just jump into than almost any 2D game. Even something like Injustice. Yeah the ceiling is also a lot higher than most games but the ground level is one of the most approachable in the genre. It's still the same foundation that made Tekken 3 one of the most popular fighting games ever made.

First time really getting into Tekken and boy was I not prepared. The only 3D fighter I've played at length is Soul Calibur 2. I had the chance to play Tekken 7 at multiple tournaments, but I decided to just wait for the console version and I'm not sure if that was a mistake. Repping Dragunov.

Yeah... I'm "sidestepping" as much as possible but it's not enough... I almost got her but damn what a fight... And I thought Seth in SFIV was hard. :D
I mean I'm just playing on normal, I can't imagine this fight on hard. :/
I've seen a video of Kayane (Soulcalibur French champ' for people who dunno) talking about the game and saying that the Story mode was very hard, like VERY hard, and I was like "ahahah she is overreacting". Well, she wasn't. :D

Are you at the last part where he's in his final form, he regains health, and he's in rage mode? He has the armor until he does his rage move, you have to block that then finish him off

Even though I'm getting my ass beat I'm having a lot of fun though.

So pumped to play this tomorrow, but boy do I feel the online is going to be a major step back from TTT2 based off of what I've seen.

I hope that day 1 patch fixes it...

This game is so goooood. Really enjoying treasure battle, there's just enough variety to make it interesting. Waiting til my girlfriend gets home to play through story mode together.

Also, any PC players should check out the PC performance thread, there are instructions on how to disable film grain and chromatic aberration which makes the game look a whole lot better.

Edit: Only thing missing is team battle. I really really hope they patch that in. Spent probably 75% of my time with previous Tekken games doing team battle.
