TEKKEN 7 |OT| How I killed your mother

Just started

Any words on PS4 improvement ? I don't even feel like it's 1080p... very soft looking
Coming from injustice 2 it's quite bad looking imho

Had 2 online matches, both of them were playing perfectly. Until close to the end of the first round, the game just desynced and he match ended.

My connection is fine, tried out a match in SFV and injustice to check and it worked Just as well as usual.

Congrats, you made him ragequit.

That special battle
Akumer boss fight was rough. Parries, Focus attacks, instant kill raging demons, triple shakunetsu hadoken and his life constantly regenerates on top of all of that?!? Sheesh.

Story mode was shorter than I expected but I still enjoyed it. Sad that
Heihachi had to die but oh well, he'll probably be back in Tekken Tag 3 anyway. Sounds like they're setting up Kazuya's death next.... :( Hope not because Jin is my least favorite Mishima.

Played about 100 minutes. It's great so far. Runs really well on my PC (gtx780 at 1080p).
Load times are fast (on PC), in fact the whole game is fast. Rounds seem really short.
Game is a little blurry. I'll have to look into how to disable CA.
It's a little light on offline modes, but there's supposed to be more down the line.
The writing in story mode seems silly, but I didn't expect otherwise.
So yeah good stuff. It's Tekken, so I'm a little biased, but I'm happy I can finally play a current gen version of it. On PC no less.

How do I set up and change the music via Jukebox?

edit: for King, his UF+HK launches people into the air, what grabs can I combo into after this attack?

Assuming you're on the PS4 version as that's the only version that has it.

There's a Jukebox option in the main menu. Open it up. Then you can choose a game's soundtrack to be the soundtrack completely, have that game's tracks play on shuffle or create your own playlist.

When you create your own playlist, you can set a song for each stage with no restrictions on repeat or even just having one song for all rounds.

I'm on pro and it feels very soft

Probably has to do a bit with the post processing effects used. Here's how it looks on PC with them off and at 4K.

So I've just played the story mode, played some decent amount of treasure battle (got to 2nd Dan) and played a few matches online.

My initial reactions of the game are:

Holy fucking shit, why I have not gotten into this series sooner. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for from a fighting game, an honest 1v1 situation where spacing and movement matters more than mixups and setups and bullshit and projectiles and etc etc.

It was such a fucking rush, spacing myself so that I'd be outside of range of Law's wakeup kick and then punishing with my own stuff.

I still have 0 idea on how to play this game PROPERLY but I am ready and willing to put in the time.

It also helps that the game just FEELS so damn fun. Every hits feels like it lands and the slow-mo + closeup on hard hitting moves just adds to that feeling of impact.

Oooooh OK thanks. I was confused when it gave me a stage list and thought it only allowed me to set T7 music.

Question about Dragunov: My basic gameplan is not to be a rushdown character, right? On the surface, at least, he doesn't seem to have crazy mixup potential, so is my goal just to dominate the neutral with pokes? Also, does he have a string that ends in a launcher? I know QCB 2 and QCF 2 both launch, but I'm wondering if I can combo into a launch, or should I just be looking for opportunities to whiff punish or counter hit with the launchers?

Strings into launchers really isn't a thing in this game. d/f+2 is his fastest launcher. qcf+2 and f+1+2 when whiff punishing from afar. qcb+2 you probably shouldn't play with until you know what you're doing.

you pressure a lot with pokes and running 2 (fff+2). Running 2 gives a lot of plus frames on block and is a counterhit launcher

d+2 is his best low. It tracks well and on counterhit, it gives a lot of plus frames

qcf2 is good for whiff punishing at a range if the opponent whiff a slow move. its very punishable on block. QCB2 is your YOLO launcher you do when youre about to die since it has a built in backsway AND it crushes high attacks

We in the Tekken Community are glad to have you aboard!

Same with everyone else who's joining for the first time/returning back to the series.

Am I supposed to use my Dual Shock 4 controller as a Xinput controller? How do I set it up with the game?

I mean, X and Circle works in the menu, but I have to click the touchpad to go up and down. This is very cumbersome.

if you find it troublesome, just use mouse and keyboard till you reach controller settings in options menu

But a 880 can only do Medium/High maximum to get 60fps, so I doubt a 780 can do Ultra?

[edit] I'm trying it, and the sound during dialogue lags a little at the start of every sentence.

There's no such thing as a 880. And no, I'm not making this up. It's a stable 60fps on 1080p and ultra settings during a fight on my gtx780 and SSD.

Quite disappointed at the roster. Also, King barely had any new moves added since Tekken 4. I'm sure this is the case with most characters. I counted 2-3 new moves excl.
rage moves (might not even be new).

Oh no, I'm not accusing you or not believing you. I was just curious, as they said in the Performance thread, that a 880 (or probably 980) could only run it at Medium/High at maximum. But nice if it runs perfectly on our 780. :)

Wow, Kazumi's command list is even more barren than Jinpachi's. Only like 50 moves in there!

Anyone feeling overwhelmed by the game, I think she's definitely the character to go for. Seems incredibly simple, but solid.
