Lemme know what time some of you peeps are going over there so we can meet up and get nekkid!
I'm socially awkward. Probably best to avoid me.
I went to Round One COI last Friday 7/3, no T7 yet
Yeah that's a week too early.

Ohh, so you played against my brotherGood games to GrayFox and RocKer. We almost got 10-0 but Gray today. Scary.

I haven't really played Tekken in a while. I hope I'm not too rusty yet
Bro, it's Tekken. We all are socially awkward!
Well I'm heading out to meet up with a friend over there now. I should be there in about an hour, or an hour and thirty.
Very sad to hear about Iwata. RIP.
Aa far as Tekken 7 goes, the game is pretty fun. Coming off of Tag 2, the SS feels as stiff as it looks in the videos, but make no mistake about it, SS is NOT useless. You just have to actually time them much bettee now and you won't get too many launches after them. On the train now. I'll post more when I get home.

About T7 did you feel any difference in the input lag? I know it's impossible for anyone to tell without proper technology, but do you feel T7 has the same phantom frame of lag that TTT2 incurred?
Nice. I will be trying to take the train to Penn tomorrow (probably). The only thing annoying me is my lack of stick experience.
Btw, how many people were at the Tekken 7 machines? I'm hoping to not run into long lines when I get the chance to go there. Though, long lines would be indicative of success for this dying arcade model so I"ll be happy either way I guess.
Thank you for the impressions Manny. Was the cab single-monitor side by side, or dual monitor?
And throws leading to counterhit would be a big deal if true. But the throw changes really make me not want to play any character that doesn't have command throws that require all of the 3 breaks. So that takes out all of the new characters including Josie since they took out her Bruce multi-throws.
Thanks. I gotta print this out.
Tonight was just me, my friend, Liquid, Reno, Devil Himself, and a dude that moved here recently from ATL. Spero Gin and Brian H were there when we got there, but they left soon after. The matches moved along really quick, so the wait wasn't too bad. Plus we spent most of the time between matches just catching up and talking about the game. Reno did say that Saturday was packed up like crazy though. If this is anything like the Chinatown Fair days, then Friday and Saturday are probably going to be the super heavy traffic days.
So here are some more impressions...
- To go in further on the sidestepping stuff, your sidesteps have to be timed almost at the last second as opposed to before where certain linear moves could be sidestepped with just about zero timing. Whoever mentioned it kind of being like Virtua Fighter was actually on point. Since you have to sidestep so late, and you can't cancel sidestep into a move as quick as you used to, this kind of eliminates a lot of situations where someone could hit you wit a SS into launch. Unless of course you whiff something HUGE.
- I played as Dragunov. He feels exactly the same.
- Throw break window is pretty much what it was in TR, which I appreciate greatly. The one thing that really surprised me was that it appears that you can get CH out of throw attempts. I'm not 100% sure on this, but there were instances where Reno would use magic 4 with Law, or Shaheen's 4,1 and score CH out of throw attempts. He certainly noticed it. Sadly, we didn't get a chance to really test it tonight. I don't know if this is already common knowledge, but if it isn't, I'll try to test it further the next time I go.
- I'm not too sure how much it cost per game. I just bought a $25 card and played a few matches with that. The people I spoke to thinks it was about $1 a match though.
- Devil Himself was telling us that he heard that this location test is only going to be about a month. I have no idea if this is actually true, but I figure I would mention it just in case.
- We're still unsure about this, but a lot of us felt that a lot of moves had more pushback on block than they used to. There's going to be a whole lot of doing something on block to bait CHs and whiffs in this game.
- Overall, the game is pretty fun. It's a super pretty version of TR without the invincible moves and random criticals. The movement changes seem to mean a lot less abuse of option select movements that turn 90% of set ups into gimmicks, so the offensive flow is overall stronger. I do feel that all of these throw nerfs went a bit too far. We'll see how it ends up in the final version.
So yeah, that's that. The cool thing is that this Dave & Busters is a block away from my job, so I'll probably stop by for a few matches during my work days.
At the NYC DnB. nycfab, bloodhawk, and renokon are here. Renekon is on a 8 win streak with Claudio. I was able to get 2 rounds on him but then got rekt by his shoeshine and reverse orbital lol.

Wow, just heard on Rip's stream that JFJ stayed in his car for four days just so he could play T7 at Comic-Con all weekend long. With two other guys in the car. x.x

Awesome. Thanks for impressions. I had to can my plans for NYC last minute today. House work came up. Will try again tomorrow or Thursday. It's good. Gives me more time to try stick.
Is there anyone who wants to play a few rounds? I'm Online right now.
Are you still planning on going up to D&B this Thursday? I'm a pad player myself and have never used stick a day in my life! Depending on what time you go up there I'd be more than happy to play some games with you!
I'm thinking about taking the first flight out to NYC then taking the last flight back home. lol. So I'll probably be up there from 11am-3pm on Thursday.
My plans keep getting ruined but I think I am more likely to be there Wednesday than Thursday. But I'll let you know if I switch to Thursday. It's been kind of a hectic week.
So excited to play this game, though. I'll be spending a lot of time there whenever I get the chance to go.
Ohh that's okay! I'm bringing my twin brother along with me so I have someone to verse but if you decide to go up there Thursday just let me know. ^_^
I'm flying in from Ohio to play this game, needless to say I'm pretty exited!
So the people here that play (or have played) both Tekken and SF on stick. Do you have to diversify hand/finger qcf motions between the two games? I am doing hadokens with ease on both 1p and 2p side. Back to Tekken and I'm messing up constantly. :/
Does stick offer any particular advantage over pad I'm not aware of?
Yeah, too bad. I didn't have much time left either because I had to go and eat, but I had a few matches with av2k. Good games Numb.Couldn't seem to connect after those first couple of matches. Sorry i had to bail afterwards cos i was dozzing off and playing real bad.
