Tekken Tag Tournament 2 |OT| Awaiting the "Final Battle"

I don't see how you guys play so many teams lol.
Playing only one team is a bit boring to me.
Hwo + Steve
Hwo + Jin
Kaz + Hei
Ling + Lee
I also consider adding a Law-Team. I played Marshall Law in Tekken 5 and Forest is a bit similar to the old Marshall Law. My Eddy also has no partner, so he could team up with him^^

Movement has been made a bit easier in TTT2. I don't mind BCD becoming easier in a future Tekken.

Yeah me too. I just like too many characters.

Tekken has awesome designs with a few duds...coughalisacough.

Btw I was a fan of Jack in Tekken 2 - powerful Dolph Lundgren like robot with this kind of terrifying presence and voice that went: Woooaaaaugh!" when he smashed your face, but his design since T5 feels too goofy to me. His face and proportions are all wrong and sudden speedy moveset made me rise an eyebrow. With his df+2 it's like "shit Jack got electric." lol

His arms, body, face - what happened?

Prototype Jack in Tag 2 is bit more fun.

Gun Jack was a interesting idea but very underdeveloped. People were like: "Where are the guns?" Not that I want him shoot guns in Tekken, it's just an awkward name. lol. Ironically Jack now kinda shoots with his hands.

I hope Gun Jack 2 returns in T7 with new moveset and grappler style.

Also this is amazing. Wonder if he has these just frames now.

Can't wait for that Silat fighter and Taekkyeon girl in T7 too.

I like the way Jack looks now. He's just a big ole robot to me. I like in 3D games where there is room for variants in the size of the characters, so I like how big he is and his arm length and all of that. I want more of it, more extremes of limb length and stuff. Hopefully I get some in TKxSF, heh.

So caricatures, pls no Harada.

Maybe, not like Sim though, if that is what you are thinking.

I know I am in the minority on this, hehe. I would like some variance in proportions, but it's probably not happening.

God no, this is not Street Fighter where it fits. I need to erase the pics of deformed tekken cast from the imagination.

Some sort of streamlining of the backdash system needs to happen. I'm sick to death of being knocked back several notches every time a controller breaks and I have to break in a new pad. Hell, depending on how they change it, I might just make the permanent switch back to stick.

There's deformed tekken art out there? I need to find some of that.

I am thinking more stuff like Marduk or Taka-Arashi type sizes. Not like true ogre necessarily or going small like Yoda in SC4.

People already complain about rare occasions where stuff whiffs on some characters.

Imagine bunch of different sized freaks where your combos don't work on them and eg highs miss. We already had Gon in T3 and there's a reason he didn't come back for next 16 years. Clusterfuck.

That doesn't really prove anything. Lots of characters can get that kind of damage off of pokes both with and without rage.

Cmon man chillax. Besides you still have to respect that because FLA SS can easily go to your back if done right.

--------

GGs Breezy. I caught fire and luck on that winstreak lol. I am kinda disappointed though with my movement and punishing. There are many times I wanted to do b1,2 but b1+2 comes out lol...

And lemme try that GS punish next time lol...

Lol you should know. That shit felt so good when I read that Dark Uppercut from AK and I BT Combo'd you lol.

Yeah GGs. Everyone was falling for your shit and I had to put a stop to it.

Btw seems that Harada may be making BDC easier in the next Tekken.

om/Harada_TEKKEN/status/453257603603128320

Actually, I think that is a good idea if they want to possibly attract more casuals to Tekken. I don't particularly mind the BDC, but I don't think more simple movement would hurt future installments of Tekken.

Yeah, I know so many people who can play tons of characters and teams effortlessly. I normally play the Williams, but I try to mix it up sometimes with a few other characters/teams and I sometimes get so discouraged and even intimidated when trying out new teams/characters since 80% of people online are so good now. Yeah, I can play several characters................just not too well. It's especially difficult to learn new characters now since most online players are so formidable. I like a lot of characters, but I don't know if I have the time and patience to thoroughly learn them now. Most of my friends can typically learn a new character in hours. Me..........days, weeks, months. >_<

I am legit saying wooooow when you did that... Seriously, mad respect.

But I really hated the way I played. I hated when my hopkicky habit came back, and I wasn't playing smart most of the time. Can't even whiff punish with FC df2. I really was lucky people are falling for my unique setups lol.

I was sitting there dumbfounded half the the time like "how are they not beating you?"

I know i was playing really stupid half the time but its like they couldn't see how you were playing at all or if they did they didn't really know what to do.

The thing is, not everyone has the tools to stop me from doing that wakeup crouch game, especially when people are looking to do pick up juggles. So far, only Lee can actually hit me hard and regret it because he really got good fast jumping and running mids that hurt for oki. (Which is why I really want some match experience with Lee). Even Jin ff2 and ff4 shouldn't work as much if I am willing to lay down on the ground.

I still need to learn how to deal with pitbullers overall though. Once the game get to slow down even for a little bit, I know I can win even when I don't have a life lead. But when people don't give me that chance, Im screwed lol. I guess I just really have a weird style lol.

Yeah its really weird to play against especially online where everyone typically plays the same. I really didn't feel like Lee/Violet did much though specifically against that strat though. I think a combination of patience, aggression and adaptation can work better than just character specific strats. Like for example you were easy to open up because of the classic lows and throws so if an opponent was savvy(unlike me lol) they could've kept a pretty easy advantage as soon as they got in...assuming they could anyways..

You know there's a dark atmosphere about the second game that just makes the game so memorable. Getting to Kazuya and Devil's stages where you see a blank expression of their face on the title screen and the eerie music just made it such a frightening final battle as a kid. The other games just never had the same feel. For example, the third game had a Rock 'n Roll Youth feel to it, which suits the storyline.

I put together some combos this morning. Watch in HD because youtube is a blurry mess.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzOYTWTvKyc

I did a Miguel combo that CSX had mentioned in there. If you don't want Kazuya's CD4,1 to not whiff during certain tag assaults, all you have to do in most instances is a backstep before beginning to attack. You will notice me doing a back step in certain of the combos. In other cases, doing a sidestep before attacking can also help.

And as Famicom had mentioned, you really have to know Miguel's savage transitions well for him to be a viable character for you. They're not hard but you just have to go through the command list and make sure you know which moves can be transitioned into savage stance. Specifically, Miguel's d/f+1 and d/f+4,1 are very crucial for tag assaults and combos in general.

wow, thanks so much for your time and effort! really really appreciate it.

I made it to diciple rank! thanks to the help that you guys provided. My TAs are feeling natural now, now all I have to do is to improve my movement and defense against annoying spam.. particularly against capos and Zafina. It just feels weird because they seem to crush everything and forces you to play so different from usual.

@GrayFoxPL: With Xiao's ch uf4, I can do a 100 dmg combo without much effort. That's amazing :D
Trying to change my style is like learning a new character though. I have to work on Xiao a lot.

@boutdown: I played really weird yesterday and my defence was even weirder. Good games though.

Totally agree. That's why Tekken 2 is my favorite. The intro, music, stages, story, outros, character designs - it made for amazing atmosphere that sadly was never matched in the sequels. If there was Tekken 2 remake with modern gameplay I'd be crazy happy.

Wow, good job. Trying to change habits is incredibly hard for me too. The only way is to repeat new, better patterns until they rewrite old ones.
I was practicing my old Kaz Jin team. I need to work on cds cancels and tag combos but I got Jin to berserker.

Haha, pretty similar case. I got my Xiaoyu to Brawler yesterday^^
You should aim for Warrior/Avenger or even higher. You definitely have the skill.

Glad we're on the same page here. The game was actually the first game I played on PSX, and everything from the intro to the final boss fight was amazing. The best part of the game is Kazuya's cosplay as Prince though.

Man, that reminds me, I don't have any real access to the game anymore. My PSX game was bought when I was living in the United Kingdom, so it wont work on my PS3. There's always Tekken 5's Arcade History, but my PS2 is in the garage. You know what? Fuck it, I'll just rebuy the PS1 game for cheap. Maybe alongside Psychic Force, another childhood favourite of mine.

Yep, no problem. :)

And congrats on the rank upgrade.

I approve of the high speed bitch slapping of Lili. In fact, if it were on a spastic, frenzied replay speed, even better.

But slo-mo bitch slapped Lilli would also be hilarious.

You will like this video.

Yes! There was nothing like Tekken 2. Even after T3 came out I would still play it occasionally for the music and boss battle.

It's amazing how much an intro and some short ending movies can add to a game. I was so into the characters and storylines of Tekken back then. Not at all now, though. :/

Way to make me fucking happy about another Strong style only to crush my excitement by having no stream ON PURPOSE.

I 100% support his stance though. Sure, it's probably not something that will necessarily help the community grow, but that's also not the intent.

If it wasn't for the fact that it's a Tekken only tournament and the last Strong Style stream was my favorite Tekken stream ever I wouldn't give a shit.

I agree with Bronson's decision after listening to what he said on the ATP cast, after all it's his tournament and what matters is the people who go. Having a stream is not a right, it's not compulsory.
