Tekken Tag Tournament 2 |OT| Awaiting the "Final Battle"

I'm trying to figure out why more people aren't interrupting Chaos Judgement mixups since Chaos Judgement isn't fast.

Also, Lili's WS 1,2

Interrupt the mixup.

Devil Jin's b1,2

I don't get why high ranked players think I'm gonna wait for that mixup to happen.

You can interrupt that?

I see you're in matrix mode for Tekken.

I'm playing Hwo-Larsu now. Forgive me Padre GAF for I have sinned.

You can't interrupt the whole string if the person decides to do the whole string, no, but that first part of the string, you can jab before the person decides to do a mixup.

Oh, and attacks out of Chaos Judgement, can be interrupted with the right move.

That Hwo is getting better again real quick. One thing you should concentrate on is his flamingo stance, though. You should avoid RFS b+3 as a launcher. I think it's -15 or -16 on block and doesn't push your opponent back that much like b+3, so characters like Kazuya can easily launch you for that. RFS df+4 is safe and a better launcher.
Also, LFS f4,3 or RFS f3,4 are great for TA! filler, but a no-go on a blocking character. The second kick is high and you can get easily killed for that by characters with decent WS-launchers. AAK launched me everytime for this when I first played against him.

Other than that, your Hwoarang is really great. It's cool to play some cool Hwoarang-matches for a change, there are so few of them :)

I haven't tested this myself but I think you are referring to when she goes into Chaos Judgment from d/f+1,2. In that case, it can be interrupted if the string is not completed. However, it's still a 50-50 mixup since you risk getting hit by the full string if you decide to interrupt. This is especially risky against walls and Anna likewise has some of the best wall pressure in the game. And do recall that several of her moves can lead to chaos judgment, not just d/f+1,2.

A lot of the attacks from Chaos Judgment can also be sidestepped/side walked. But Anna players still have qcf+4 from the stance which will hit sidewalking opponents (again, I have to test this to fully confirm). A lot of Mishima players (even at the highest levels) think they can interrupt Chaos Judgment with 1,1,2 following her f,f+3,4,3 attack but, again, qcf+4 will override the 1,1,2 punches every time.

Yeah, I don't do anything against the wall.

I don't know what qcf+4 is let me go look that up.

And that first sentence is referring to that Lili string.

Thanks man I appreciate the advices :). I try to find my style but it's hard to keep track of all his moves.

I use rfs b+3 from a bad habit because I always used it in old Tekkens and that was probably the only launcher he had from the stance, lol. Didn't know it was so bad at block, people online tend to hesitate with punishing it like they were thinking "Thank God I blocked that, pheew!". Lol.

I tried another pad and could shoot jfsr from LFF pretty easly, but the pad is too stiff to move and block with decent speed. My old pad is hyper loose and broken somewhat so it's either precision with no movement or movement without precision. I chose the latter.

Just tested it in practice. You have to sidewalk right the qcf+4 from judgment stance. But it hits if you sidewalk left. On the other hand, though, d+3,3 from judgment stance cannot be sidewalked left or right. It will hit either way so the only way to block/punish that would be to duck or to use a move that crushes low.

What I'm really referring to, is if I see the knee, I'm interrupting.

Maybe the CPU does it slowly in practice mode, but I was just playing Eraptura and I interrupted him every time I saw the stance.

I'm glad to be able to give you some advice this time :)

Many people expect a low when Hwoarang is in RFS. At least many people I played against tend to duck in that situation, so I surprise them with RFS b+3^^
I got launched a few times, too, when we played yesterday.

My pad is the only one I can do JFSR with. The digipad is somewhat hard, so I "feel" the movement. Other pads I have at home are a little softer and I fuck up JFSR/EWGF most of the time.

Specifically, you need to duck the second hit.

So EVO pools have been posted, there are some major pools of death:

http://evo2014.s3.amazonaws.com/brackets/index.html

Pool A1 has Bronson Tran and Lil Majin
Pool A3 has JustFrameJames, JodytheGreat, and a Japanese player named Kousukep (Not sure who he plays)
Pool A5 has Ryan Hart, MMT, Kith Mercer, and Electrical Steve (TMO's brother)
Pool B1 has Ao, SMP, and GAF's own AV2k
Pool B3 has Inkog, Setnomessej, and KOR
Pool B4 has Aris, Anakin, RunitBlack, Raybonekilla, and Mcp gen (Tekken Emperor from Japan)
Pool B6 has Rickstah, Mr. Naps, Shola, and the Japanese player name Zeugaru (I think a Blue Rank in Arcades!)
Pool C1 has Potatobrain (my nemesis from Canada) and Mateo Galvin
Pool C2 has Fab, TrueMasterOgre, and ZTS
Pool C3 has Gagguni, DrumEFx, WayGamble, and Kodee
Pool C4 has Kurokuro, Rip, BMNS-13 (A pretty strong Saudi TKD player)

EDIT: Apparently, the Tekken and Blazblue pools are still subject to change, so I guess this isn't final.

MMT? DEEEEEEEEEEM

Also I don't see Kayyal here anywhere... Is he in Saudi or something?

Hope Kayyal, Majin and MMT can go to Strongstyle... can't wait for that... devastator and wonkey, you better go there too! I'm getting my savings up there!

(Seriously, money's tough but darn it. At least I want to enjoy probably my first and last tournament before college and life takes me away from playing.)

Shoot, my bad. I mistook him for MikeMyers :S I confuse the 2 because both AV2k and MikeMyers are both Cali players. Sorry, AV2k is a guy I met during my days @ TekkenZaibatsu.com.

Why are you guys looking at pools when we already have a champion?

Haha DAMN, nice catch.

Believe it or not, Everyone I've met so far in my Tekken travels had their peak of their Tekken playing ventures when they went to college/university. Along with studying you need a social outlet and a social life along with it. These guys all hung out with fellow Tekken heads and got pretty damn good at the game during those years. It's after university/college when you get a job that it all starts going downhill.
I do believe Kayyal is out of the country, yes.

Also heard that Fab won't be there. :(

Really? That'd be a pity. But he has been MIA for a very long time. Not sure if him or GM are still passionate about Tekken.

Regarding the Japanese players:

Kousuke is a Mishima player who has been playing at least since T6 and is pretty much one of the regulars at Sugamo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bw4Lva8yRs (STV)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mzYXkGT4iE (TTT2)

Zeugaru is the JACK-6/Ogre player who almost ocv'd nobi's team at MASTERCUP 5. He won MASTERCUP.6 through AO's team and is pretty much a cheater. He also beat HelpMe in a first to 5 that one time.

Mcp gen or officially as [MASTERCUP Genkids] is a Tekken God 13 year old. Shame about no AK for 13 year old exhibition match.

Everyone already knows who AO, Kuro Kuro are so no need for more stalking/explanation :p

hope an Australian takes the thing though, I see both MMT and St George in the brackets haha.

Oh nice, had no idea about the 13 year old prodigy! That's awesome! Ah well, we have Book to thank for the AK EVO block :p Thanks Wonkey for the info :)

And you saw St. George's name there? What's his handle and what pool? Does that mean we will finally get the showdown between ZTS and St. George?

Pool B3, right on top as 'Luper.' (he uses that handle more so then his TZ account)

ZTS vs St George exhibition match in Tekken Casino less goooo! hahaha.

Deem... that sucks...

Man I hope so, technically this is my junior year and my classes are tough so right now it kinda is overwhelming.

But I see the glimpse of what you are saying. On my orientation, I convinced a Smash player to pick up Tekken again. When I introduced myself as a Tekken player, his first reaction is "Wow, that game is hard." Kinda gave me a blush and inflated my ego for a bit lol. But when I told him to look at Tekken movement as movement being chained together and the each move can be categorized to generic moves (generic hopkicks, df+2s, magic 4/b+1s etc) and he just had a lightbulb moment. Made me more convinced that it's not the game that's at fault, it's how we teach the game.

Also, Fab is silent nowaday since he is a full blown family man now. He just got married (and the Tekken world barely knew) and expecting a child last time I heard.

Speaking of that... ZTS is also coming so yeah...

It will be hard at first, but after you learn to organize your time, university will be the best time of your life where you are the most flexible.
My day mostly consists of studying in the library and sleeping. Other than that I have a lot of spare time. Especially right now since it's Ramadan, I just play through the night and drink water as long as I'm allowed to.

I don't think I'll be able to play for a few days but I'm still on your fiends list so if you see me feel free to hit an invite. And Welcome to GAF :)

Okay great, I still have to borrow a ps3 from someone before I start playing again. I'm a little short on time but thankfully Kor is coming over this weekend to get me up to date on the new strategies that have been going on.

Thanks AAK for being so welcoming, I first saw you over at TekkenZaibatsu and found your posts to be of the highest quality, wish everyone posted like you!

LOL I remember during those TZ days... I just had to impose my opinion on everyone by making those huge posts haha. I'm not as hostile anymore LOL. I've come to terms that I'm just a minority and just spend more time playing that talking :p

Nice! BTW let Angel Perez know that he did a nice job for my modded panel. Now I just have to practice more because the rubber on my stick isn't as tight as I wanted it to, so my FC df+2 whiff punishing suffered a bit, but I can do King's wavedash easier now lol.

But yeah, I am trying to revive the place but it's becoming the new Tekken Nation since all the scrubs went there when Tekken Nation closed down. Man I wish St. George is still around posting there.

Ah hah, sure thing, unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the Texas players in about a year or so (other than Kor's wedding) but I'll be happy to tell him if I ever do see him again. Unfortunately, it seems like facebook is the way to go, most forums are dead nowadays anyway and I think it will be like that from now on but good luck!

I'm going to be fighting AO as my second tournament match which is going to be fun. I really don't have anything to lose so I can get away with high risk mix ups while being solid at the same time (which helped me go 2-0 JDCR (Casuals), 2-1 Help me (tourny), and 1-2 Saint (tourny). Is there any new strategies developed since I've been gone that I should be aware of?

Well, not really, America in general didn't have a breakthrough tech wise (which is understandable because we haven't really reach the Asian solid level yet). Most of the international players win because they pretty much outclass us (well, Korea was anyways, everyone as far as I heard is more confident against Japan, not saying they are slouch, but we got a better chance against them). So yeah, don't get too intimidated against AO.

What I see as massive improvement though for us is our stage awareness, some people actually moving around walled stages with a purpose now and trying to get that wall advantage and know how to take advantage of walls. Well you will know them when they see them so yeah... good luck!

And I really wish I could go. Maybe I need to get higher grades and get those scholarship money to go to tournies lol.
