Whoa, I did not know Tested was on TV now, who bought them?
I watch them on YouTube on the 360 which is connected to my television.

How has traffic been post acquisition? It kind of stinks that on their shows they never direct folks to Tested. I get it for Mythbusters as those are pre-existing contracts (and I think separate from the current B/B deal) but that Rube Goldberg show not having a presence on Tested seems odd.
The Unchained Reaction stuff was shot well before the Tested deal was final. Adam's been great about plugging the site in all opportunities.
I don't either (prefer navigating their Youtube channel), but you should definitely visit every so often for some great articles by Wesley Fenlon.Really though, and this is one of the reasons I liked just paying you guys, your content is just better consumed elsewhere. I don't listen to podcasts from a webpage and your videos are generally good enough that I watch them on the TV. I personally don't have a huge use for the website. I know that's how you generate revenue though and prove engagement to advertisers but there just isn't a ton there to compel me to keep coming back.
Sell me a Roku app or something!
I doubt you'll see a cohesive Tested/Mythbusters site. The rights issues for something like that to happen are pretty terrifying.
As for the forums, they're mostly fixed now, and should be all the way back to original if not better shortly.

Three of my recent favourites:
Thieves, Cobblers, and Fan Edits: The 50-Year Odyssey of an Animated Masterpiece
Precision Gear Porn: Why Mechanical Wrist Watches are so Cool (and Pricey)
Still Life, Still Death: Where Stop Motion Animation Models Go to Rest
Make sure you at least read the first one. It's fascinating.
Thanks I have stories lined up for the next few weeks that I'm excited about.I don't either (prefer navigating their Youtube channel), but you should definitely visit every so often for some great articles by Wesley Fenlon.

So I was listening to the patents episode of This American Life. The started talking about 'patent trolls' and someone brought up the company Intellectual Ventures and co-founder of the company Nathan Myhrvold. Then they started talking about his other ventures, one of them being a book, or series of book, he wrote called Modernist Cuisine.
So I haven't been keeping up with the Modernist Cuisine Lab videos at all and I might have missed Will talk about this on the podcast, but are they really doing videos promoting a company which is owned by someone who is also a co-founder of one of the largest patent troll companies in America? Like, WHAT!
Will talks about patent trolls all the time and how they're bad for the tech industry. I really might have completely missed them talk about this, but I found this revelation crazy.
They generally skip patent talk, anyway.

I don't really have a position on IV. I'm not well-informed enough about it to discuss it. I've listened to the This American Life and Planet Money episodes, and read a bit about IV. The claims don't paint a particularly rosy picture about the company. You'll note we haven't run any stories about what a positive force for good IV is.
That said, the Modernist Cuisine team is doing innovative work with food science, which is worth covering. It is my understanding that MC is owned by Nathan, not IV. It's work that probably wouldn't happen if a wealthy patron weren't supporting it--even at $500/copy the cookbook can't be profitable. You can't cancel out a wrong with a right, but it would be unfair to judge MC because of a questionable affiliation of its owner.
NEVER follow the money, people!
They've got a couple video's on a full scale 737 flight sim, pretty cool stuff.
I still have to watch them but I'm kinda scared. I hate watching videos about stuff I know very well (I've been an aviation buff all my life).
Chick Fil A? Pinkberry?
Not equating the social causes but people have no problem judging compnies and causes based on the individuals involved, what makes MC different?
Oh man what did Pinkberry do? I've never been but want to eventually due to how much they've hyped it up.
I honestly don't remember, I just remember Whitta adding them to his list of boycotted companies for awhile.
Whatever they did, it must have been worse than Nazi coffee.
Gary on twitter yesterday said:On my way to a free Pinkberry! @ Pinkberry http://instagr.am/p/OUAUkTtpQS/
Yeah, they said a few months ago that they were now able to go back. I think the owner did something terrible, like beat the crap out of a homeless guy. But he is no longer there.
On this week's show, Joey is curious about Windows 8, Will enjoys the heat, and Norm tells a horrifying story. All that, plus Windows 8 RTM impressions, a Mars Curiosity update, Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1, and another edition of fake outtakes. Enjoy!
7 Filets O' Fish on an airplane? You're a monster, Chan.
My desktop PC doesn't need windows 8 can't they just give me windows 7.5 all the speed improvements and none of metro
Yeah, listening to Will talk about Windows 8 on the recent podcast really soured me on the hole thing. I was planning on giving it a try, but it sounds like a big clusterfuck.
Maybe it will be great if I ever pick up a Surface, but it sounds maddening on a desktop PC with only a standard mouse and keyboard for input.
I'll upgrade to win 8 when someone figures out how to bring back the classic start menu and disable metro via registry tweaks.
i quite like W8 because if you just ignore metro it feels like a leaner windows.
launching stuff by pressing windows and then typing its name works just fine, and then you really don't need to use metro at all.
