When I look back on it now though it was all worth it just to see Will and Norm struggle with those 2 pound Target lady weights.

Yeah exactly, it's not about the actual lego, it's all about the way they handled the end of it. In a way I found it almost insulting (insulting might be a bit too strong for what I really mean but that's the best I could find with my limited english vocabulary). Its obvious that the whole serie was done in a very relax and "chill" way and I shouldn't take it so seriously but like Eznark said, what they did at the end really felt like a "haha fuck you guys we never actually really cared about the whole thing...now go on reddit to upvote this video of us doing a bad acting job at looking upset over this so that we can get more hits". It kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Aaaannnywayyy... That was a long time ago and I don't even remember why we started talking about that again today, what's done is done and Tested is in a different place now anyway (literally).

Oh, I didnt mind that. The fun of Bricked was the journey, although it got a bit boring in spots. Them destroying it was funny to me, staged or not.

You are reading way too much into it dude. The finale wasn't some tacit declaration of "yeah this has all been a waste of time!" Honestly baffling to me anyone would think that.

What's the coolest thing you can do with two giant Lego sets and a video camera? Is it
A) leave them sitting on a table
B) Cause a 6000 piece Lego explosion

Tough choice.

After the marathon was the last BRICKED I'd like to see something more akin to a sprint, a speed build that could be done in 30m or less. Maybe for Octoberkast!

It's pretty cool to hear them talking about Lego stuff and I guess I should finally post my little story.

So back in March I went into my local Lego store to pick up the Tie Fighter. I actually watched Star Wars for the first time at the beginning of the year (despecialized versions, so thanks Wes!) and got way into it. I already built the Lego X-wing and Y-wing, so I thought I might as well get the last ship to go with them.

Anyway, I overheard the Lego store employees talking about needing volunteers for some event, so at the register with Tie Fighter in hand, I asked the guy about it. He told me it was a Guiness world record for the Ninjago spinners (beyblade ripoff) and he offered me a 30% off coupon for anything in the store to tally spins for 2 hours. I thought would have been great for the Imperial Shuttle I was eyeing. When I accepted I thought it could lead to a job there which could be pretty awesome.

Well, he called me later and it turned out they didn't need people for the event. But, he did say they were hiring and to submit an application. Ten days and an interview later, I was a 'brick specialist' at Lego.

So I've been working for Lego since then. I actually moved recently and now work at the Glendale Lego store, which is one of the biggest in the world and the current Lego store of the year.

I wanted to say all this so I could finally say thanks, Tested! I guess I should thank Gary specifically for getting Will and Norm interested. If it weren't for you guys I wouldn't have gotten interested in Lego and I wouldn't have my cool job now. Thanks!!

p.s. The Imperial Shuttle is sitting on my desk right now, which I got on one of the four 50% days Lego store employees have a year.
 
I'm very very very sad :(

Weekend of 19 and 20th I got my day off, but on the 26st and 27th I have to work :(
And because of the time difference I can't see ANYTHING this year :(.

It's not all bad though: I think there's a certain appeal to getting to listen to the archive at your own pace.

edit: Norm's NYC food strategy is amazing. I would have done the same.

I keep forgetting about the Metro apps and I've been using Windows 8 since RC days. I'm always heading towards the Desktop.

Also, Brian from the AnandTech podcast put it best about iPhone secrecy. You can only pick 2 out of the following 3: Low cost, secrecy, high volume.

Obviously Apple has chosen low cost & high volume nowadays.
 
Great show.

Good choice on Shake Shack. It kills In N Out. I would never get the crazy praise In N Out gets, when Shake Shack kills it.
 
Was it last week's podcast where Norm was doing the sticker thing? I can't remember.

I just know that when Will was scolding Norm over the sound of opening envelopes it was much more annoying and attention grabbing than the sound of the envelopes themselves.
 
I never once heard the sound of any envelope on either podcast. Will was freaking out over nothing. I think the podcasts would go much more smoothly if he took half a Valium before recording.

Also, remember that these guys tend to be caffeinated as hell. Maybe they really should try Xanax for an episode instead.

You didn't hear them because I went through and manually removed the noises from the first five minutes of the show, before I asked him not to tear the paper. If he hadn't stopped doing it, it would have taken me three hours to fix in post.
