TGA 10th Anniversary pulled in 154 million livestreams

Damn, no wonder everybody thinks the winners are the gaming Oscars.

When there was only 1.1m watching via the official stream i find this very hard to believe.

They probably counted people who watched some portion of it.

I watched it because TW4's official video is age gated... but if you watched the stream there was none. That's all I watched tho.

meanwhile, less than half of that watched the Paul/Tyson fight and Netflix completely shit the bed.

(Netflix originally published '60M households', this was later bumped to 108M active streams...still a lot less)

Isn't the 150m = the entire gaming population?

Easy to get that many viewers when everyone and their grandmother was making up some crazy stuff trying to hype the show. In the end, no Half Life 3 and no holy shit moments.

Somebody do the math: there were about 1 million viewers on youtube. I don't know how many there were on twitch. Even if it was significantly higher, let's say 3 million on twitch, then that's 4 million.

Where are the other 150 million? I call bullshit!

Those 1 million viewers and concurrent live viewers. Not "total" number of viewers.

People don't seem to understand the difference between concurrent viewers and unique viewers over the course of the entire show.

Very rarely do viewers watch from start to end in one sitting.

Geoff is definitely just saying over the course of the show there were that many unique impressions made. Even people who tuned in for like 2 seconds and left.
