TGS 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

All I care about is a Persona 5 release date. And that it's release is in 2015.

This is literally all I want out of 2015. Atlus could simply put one 10cm x 10cm stand with a December release date and do nothing more and I'll still be fine with it. Anything else would just be icing.

Yeah thanks for the idea, i'll probably do this too since it's too much of a hassle to import.
How much do full-priced US titles cost digital at D1? 40$?

40-60 dollars from what I've seen, I'd expect Persona 5 to be full priced so 59.99 digitally, so 50 and 20 dollar PSN cards needed to digitally get it.
But we'll see, could be that it's 49.99.

All I care about is a Persona 5 release date. And that it's release is in 2015. I really hate how cagey and stingy with gameplay they have been with this title. I think ATLUS needs to step their shit up. Persona 4 was a sleeper hit for them, and should have given them the juice to market the game right. Instead they've locked advertising behind P4 spinoffs and have been largely silent. Maybe they'll turn things around. I suppose we'll see next week.

Not holding my breath though.

Perhaps whatever strategy they're going for will pay off, in the end. When media starts blowing out, those who've been waiting for information for so long will generally forget the time that they've been waiting for and instead focus on what they're putting out in the present.

Plus, Atlus is very particular when it comes to spoilers, so they don't want to show too much of the game to their fans for that purpose, which I think is nice. Makes me wonder how Spike Chunsoft will handle Danganronpa 3 when it's formally announced.

Didn't Persona only get an image of those chairs at it's announcement? Or was there a trailer too? I can't remember..

Anyway I hope Danganronpa gets more than that, obviously with story based games you don't want to spoil too much though.

When can I expect new game announcements and/or new trailers for previously announced games?

I think last year I remember watching a playstation event.

Looks like Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi will be @ TGS for a Sengoku Basara event.

I'm pretty sure there was a trailer and that image was the biggest things to come out of it other than the lines.

This was the teaser trailer for P5's announcement on November 24, 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mZssK05WYo
This came out 10 months later, on September 1, 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y5U8n4Ie3I
Then we got the first actual trailer on February 5th, 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc_9r4wifFc

The last one was the non-publicly released PV02 on June 25th, 2015.

It's especially important in Danganronpa's case to not show much, because any small thing in that series can ignite a huge flame. Talking about game mechanics and some minor things about the early goings of the game and the setting would be all I would want. I'm not sure how they promoted previous games in the series; this will be the first time one has been announced since Danganronpa was officially released in the West.

I'm actually kinda glad that i know almost nothing about Persona 5. I saw 4 characters, some of the dungeon stuff and some locations and that's it. Don't have to show me all the characters that you can have in your party and all that.

Resident Evil 7/Subtitled or not numbered,

I'm probably in the minority here on GAF, but i could totally go for a new action RE right now. Played 5+6 in coop and loved both of them.

Yeah, as of now Megaten/Persona titles are among the few i trust buying blind with almost no informations (others are FROM and CDPR games).
That's how much they earned my trust.

I agree man. If they make a PC version they should support co-op online/lan. Or better yet if it doesn't have co-op just make it a strong solo experience.

Thanks guys, I remember now. Man they know how to cut a trailer, that last one is great dont know how many times I've watched it since release.

Yeah I think that's what they'll do, show off the new setting and any new game impressive game mechanic- and maybe a new Monokuma/animal thing if they have one again. I hope now they know they can count on some western sales they get more resources/money.

Setting+mechanics+Morpheus announcement is what I am predicting.

Whoa, do you think Danganronpa 3 will be a PS4 game, or are you just talking about the Danganronpa VR project that will be at TGS?
I like bold predictions so I am saying that DR 3 will be a Morpheus game. It will also be on vita but DR 1 VR will be released before 3 in order to hype everyone up. I am predicting this because Kodaka said that DR 3 will be released in a surprising way.

Bold Prediction: The trailer shown for P5 will just be PV02 with a release date at the end.

All I need is DMC5 and Bloodborne DLC/expansion. Both seem likely.

Also I predict that Karin will be announced for SF5 at Sony's pre-TGS conference.

I have my fingers crossed for a new Suikoden, with a lot of movement on the franchise in the past year I have to hear something this year.

If something is announced I will be doing a Michael Huber reaction for Shenmue impression.

I believe Verendus said there was a new Suikoden in the works, but that it was pretty far off and we wouldn't hear anything before 2016 at the earliest.

Ah, thanks for the info. So looks like it's question of 'when' not 'if' and TGS would be the perfect place to reveal. Are Capcom doing their own thing or will this announcement (if it happens) be at Sony's conference?

Also DMC has typically been revealed at TGS. DmC was revealed at TGS 2010, and DMC4 got a proper non-teaser reveal at TGS 2006. Coincidentally DMC3SE released that year as well.

And Verendus said of his pre-E3 "wishlist" that about half of the games there would be revealed this year at E3 or TGS.

I hope they have the balls to not show anything from the game but a release date. I would be fine.

Edit: talking P5 of course.

I said this back after the initial announcement, but given the era we live in I just didn't see that being the case; and yet here we are.

I'm still split. Half of me can't believe Atlus would show so little of their marquee game so close to release and that it's been delayed; and yet half of me believes just that and they'll release it before years end.

There was also an employee of Konami saying it was suspended but I am hoping it was wrong.

Are we expecting the rumored Sony AAA JRPG to appear this year? I am so excited to see it man...

Yes, Verendus said we would see the first 2 (out of 5) AAA JRPG's exclusives soon and that was 3 months ago so we are do for Sony's AAA JRPG at least for TGS.

A new Suikoden was scrapped I think.

That article didn't say he knew there was a new Suikoden being worked on, only that if there was one it might've gotten stalled. The reading indicated this might've been a follow-up to the PSP stuff, not a new thing like what Verendus was talking about.*

Until Verendus comes through with the biggest "psyche" ever for me and says, it's dead.

If we get Gravity Rush 2 for PS4, a Persona 5 2015 release date, and some more info on The Last Guardian I will be fully satisfied.

Yeah.
I'm dying for GR PS4 info.

I'm also really looking forward to Level-5's PS4 JRPG since we were apparently so close to seeing it at E3 it seemed.

Well Kobayashi is showing up at TGS regarding Basara, but I sure hope it has something to do with DMC5...

Really though if Capcom want to make another fighter along with SF5, they should approach it using the KI Season 1 method.

Small correction: Itsuno will be on the show floor for only one day. He didn't say anything about any other engagements at TGS.
