Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city continues to rack up the accolades. After entering the charts at No. 2 almost 10 months ago to the day, the Black Hippy’s universally-acclaimed major label debut has now been certified platinum. The album sold 9k copies this week — a 22% increase on last week, which we can probably credit to the mania surrounding his “Control” verse — which pushed it past the 1 million mark. Congratulations to Kendrick and the whole TDE family!

Is that really surprising? Regardless of whether or not you love or hate Yeezus, it's pretty fair to say it's far less accessible than GKMC.

Both fantastic albums. The real crimes here are MGHC and The Heist being so high.
