I think the difference here is that Federer has a chance on every Murray service game, while Federer is capable of serving at a level that Murray just can't hang with. Once Murray develops a more consistent first serve, he'll start to dominate the men's game.

I think that's why he changed his racquet. Murray doesn't serve this bad usually.

Both changing shirts within the first set. Fuck that.

I don't want to jinx Fed here, but I can't believe how steady he played that set, that was vintage 2005 Fed in the first set. Federer of the last few years though has not been consistent over his 5 set matches, see 2009 Aussie open against Nadal and the 2009 US Open final against Del Potro. We'll see what happens here.

Those should not be in the same sentence.

Murray bizarrely lax.
I can't understand it myself. We've seen instances in this match already where his forehand literally makes us shake with amazement. Why the heck is he fucking around?

I love how Federer is challenging Murray to hit those circus return winners from way off the court. Almost like he's saying "Yeah, you can hit those shots, but now you have to do it against me".

Murray needs to connect with a massive shot and rally behind it. Like he did againt Cilic and like he always has to do in the big matches.

He's not angry enough yet.

See 5th set against Nadal and Del Potro in major last year. Right now he looks like vintage Fed, but his consistency was spotty many times last year in big matches. I haven't seen Fed play as well as he has tonight since 2005/2006/2007.

Somebody hasn't seen Murray serve this year. the man improved his serve by tenfold.

His service percentage is the same as last year when everyone thought he improved it. Yeah he can get it to 200k's and hit two spots which works against lesser players, but without a high percentage it has no effect on god returners. I think we might be arguing semantics, but we both seem to agree that service percentage is key.

Federer's offense >>>> Murray's offensive but....Murray's defense >>> Federer's offense

Murray's gonna have to bore the shit out of Federer (and me) if he want to win.

Murray has been outclassed so far. If he continues down this course we'll have a short match on our hands here. C'mon Murray show some passion.

I don't know what it is. Murray is simply hitting it right where Federer wants it. Looks like this might be a 3-setter :(

Haha Murray go win Rotterdam again as a moral victory. Hopefully come Wimbledon we won't have to see your mug and stupid video packages about your childhood.
