Demonic vibes right here brehs

He is what Christopher Nolan was four years ago. Hated because he is on a hot streak.

Gonna be honest despite Nolans obvious flaws he's a far more interesting director than innaritu to me

Birdman was trash script and revenant was cool but would have been much better if he just went with a tighter 2 hour revenge film

Let's not even talk about the mopey stuff he made before that

Revenants easily his best movie but it has its problems no doubt

Remember the little kid from Room? Jacob Tremblay?
It's a fair argument that he should have had a best actor nomination.
Little kids get supporting roles but it's rare they get a leading role. He really did a good job. The director deserves recognition as well for getting the best out of him.

That kid in Beasts of No Nations, Abraham Attah, did a really good job in the lead role as well.

Yeah, historically most Oscar nominations for children are bullshit (basically the "you were written to be clever and precocious" award), but he was absolutely stellar in that movie.

Hailee Steinfield getting a Supporting Actress nom for True Grit was hilarious, given she's out and out the lead character of the film and has far more screentime than anyone else.

Most years I would agree but the main and supporting actor fields are just loaded, especially the supporting field. At least the little guy gets to present an award.
