The Adventure of Elliot: The Millennium Tales….coming in 2026

Definitely will try the demo today. I've loved all their games, but I have to admit I'm unsure that HD2D is the optimal choice for a 3D action game. Will pick this up for sure, but need to see more for a day 1. I like that it looks like there's dungeons and some puzzle-ish stuff like falling floors.

Let's hope Faie is not like Airy…

Looks cool. Not too familiar with JRPGs, but this looks like gameplay that is similar to the Mana games?

Also kind of plays like Zelda.

Wow the gameplay. This looks GREAT. Reminds me of Secret of Mana or Secret of Evermore.

This is the game we have been asking Square Enix to make.

I know yall didn't like the direct but to me this plus Octo Zero were like dreams come true. A new Triangle Strategy would have completed the trifecta but I understand we are getting Tactics soon so good on Square for finally not cannibalizing their releases.

I'm with you dude, love that we are getting more games like this and not only Octopath (though I am looking forward to 0). Examples of genres left underutilized while every other developer is chasing the latest trends.

Do people really like these games? I was surprised by the new Octopath thread at how many people apparently like that series.

I've never tried any of these HD-2D games, but I'm also definitely not the target audience, since I generally hate JRPGs. But maybe I should give one of these a shot sometime.

Triangle Strategy is literally a masterpiece.
Octopath 2 is a great JRPG.
Octopath 1 is not bad, but gets a little too monotonous around the middle and end.

Live A Live and DQ3 remakes are both well done.

HD2D is usually a seal of quality. They've been on a hot streak for quite some time.

A masterpiece? How can something with such a stupid title be that good. 😯

The gameplay looks pretty fun, reminds me a bit of the old YS games. The Octopath games are a bit too "classic" for my taste (I can't stand random encounters).
I already hate the fairy though

You can wield a kusarigama, and you get a fairy familiar? Pristine pixel art style, too.

Switch 2, though? Shame. And any PC port's probably going to have Denuvo-cancer. So I'll have to live without.
shrug

This looked so fucking good!!!

Is this a demo that carries data to full release?

As a red mage fan this just really vibed with me.

I'm not sure the game still long before release and they want player's feedback so my guess is no.
I'm tempted to try it but I'll hold off and let others provide feedback.

All I ask is for a hard mode at launch, and for some kinds of dress up transmog.

The rest already looked promising.

Played a little bit of the demo. Music is fantastic. Sprites and overall graphic clarity could be better.
Controls are great so far. You can jump which is nice.

This was the highlight for me. Hoping I can change the VO to Japanese as I find they suit these games waaaaay better than English VO.
I don't know how the English dubbing industry never got much better. It still sounds like valley girl talk. Final Fantasy games seem to be the only good ones with good VA, but then again we had FFXIII which was horrible.

It's some combination of retarded writing (that would sound dumb no matter how talented the actor), poor direction, and having awkward pauses after every line so that it doesn't flow like a real conversation.

It's one of my biggest pet peeves about this genre and it's been this way for decades. I seriously don't get how anyone tolerates it. Most JRPGs I end up turning the voice volume to 0 and just reading it for myself, it always sounds 1000x better in my head.

Looks great. Reminds me of the earlier Mana games.

🤷‍♂️
I once trolled the retards over at VNDB by claiming that this is a Visual Novel.

Obviously I was banned. But it was worth it. Good game.
