ESPN did it for you.

On Aug. 16:

Yankees: 75-42
Red Sox: 64-52 (10 1/2 back)

On Sept 1 (just 16 days later)
Yankees: 81-50
Red Sox: 77-53 (3 1/2 back)

A swing of 7 games.

Crazy

LOL.

The Yankees getting blown out 22-0 eases the pain of the Cubs losing tonight!

I have already recovered from what I call the worst loss of this year! 8-0 against the EXPOS ROOFLES. It's so pathetic to get beat down by the Expos its funny! 30 game season left, time to win the wild card!

Loaiza gave up 6 of those runs? :lol :lol

Guess we did a good thing in trading him.

Kruk was tearing him a new one on Baseball tonight. Said Loaiza gave up on the team and should be shipped out, never to pitch in a Yankees uniform again. Called him a disgrace and things like that lol.

something that hasn't been mentioned much, but what is funny is that Weaver kid is having as good, if not BETTER season than Kevin Brown without being grossly overpaid, an asshole, or made of glass like the aforementioned Brown. Throw in the fact that the Dodgers also got that Yency guy (relief pitcher) that is supposed to be a fireballer in the deal, and it looks like the Yankees got hosed on another deal.

i honestly wouldnt doubt if he was on a plane to new york right now or at the very least first thing tomorrow morning.

weaver was never going to be even a decent pitcher in new york. the yankees could have gotten a bag of balls and it would have worked in their favor.

What's even worse is the Indians went for the two-point conversion on the Yankees, adding salt into the wound...

I love that the Indians have a player named Coco Crisp. Who's on second, Boo Berry?

His real first name is Covelli =p

His grandma gave him the nickname Coco when he was little. Yep, I know tons of useless sports trivia.

Does anyone seriously believe that the Redsox will be in the playoffs longer than the Yankees, or even finish the season above them?
The Yankees are toying with them as usual. Give them hope, and snatch it away, that's what makes the curse so great.

The Yankees aren't the best team in baseball right now. and they need to make some moves in the offseason, but even a little league NY team could beat the Bosox in the playoffs.

if curt schilling and randy johnson can win a championship by themselves, curt schilling and pedro can. the red sox are the one team i dont want the yankees to face in the post season.

The Redsox might have the better team, but losers can't be winners, and the Redsox are not only huge losers, but they're losers who know that they're losers, you can't be bigger losers than that. Then you have the losers in loser nation, when you're fanbase is called loser nation, you must be a pretty big loser.

haha you are underestimating this years red sox team. They have two MVP canidates in Ramirez and Ortiz and a Cy Young Canidate in Schilling. Not to mention Pedro is still one of the best and the rest of the pitching is really starting to improve at the best possible time. Lowe is pitching the best he has all year and Wakefield has won like 7 straight. Compare that to the Yankees pitching and its not even close. Last year the yankees barely got by the red sox and this year the Red Sox are a much better team then last year especially in pitching.

Indians!

Too bad this is so rare for them...

What. Are you crazy. Indians have one of the best offensive teams in baseball, its just their bullpen that sucks. :p High scoring games are not out of the ordinary for them.

But 22 runs, thats rare for ANY team.

The Redsox will find a way to lose, it is their nature.

ha. sactown is the atypical bandwagon fan.

what a loser. let me guess, your favorite football team is the patriots, right?

Webber is my favorite player in the world, and I'm an "atypical bandwagon fan."

I'm a New Yorker, which means that I get to have great home teams to choose from (with the exception of the Knicks unless they get Webber), all New Yorkers are like that. It's not my fault that my city is better than yours.

Home teams as in one team, the Yankees right? The Mets, Jets, Giants, Rangers, Knicks, Islanders, etc. to my knowledge haven't exactly set their sports worlds on fire. If they're great, then this year's Diamondbacks would have to be considered good or at least a little above average. :p
