Not even in Little League do teams get THAT FUCKING SCHOOLED (well that could be because of the pussified "let's not discourage our fragile children" nature of today but hey...).

something that hasn't been mentioned much, but what is funny is that Weaver kid is having as good, if not BETTER season than Kevin Brown without being grossly overpaid, an asshole, or made of glass like the aforementioned Brown. Throw in the fact that the Dodgers also got that Yency guy (relief pitcher) that is supposed to be a fireballer in the deal, and it looks like the Yankees got hosed on another deal.

all credit goes to jim colborn. Just look at mota before he met colborn he just threw heat and changes now he has the whole package. Yency will be our future setup guy

Chili Con Carnage!
22 points in the endzone with the homerun and the three pointer? Im new to baseball but i guess the Yankees are like a joke team or something?

Interesting stats...

Tuesday marked the first time that the Mets and Yankees were shut out at home on the same day.

(Source: Elias Sports Bureau)

The last team to win the World Series in the same year that the Republican National Convention was held in their city was the 1908 Cubs.

what a loser. let me guess, your favorite football team is the patriots, right?

Not take away from your post or anything, but atypical means:

Not corresponding to the normal form or type; not typical.

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
This is like one of those cartoons(was it bugs bunny?) Where the players were just doing a conga line all around the bases.

Yeah, Weaver has just been dynamite. I've been saying all year I thought he'd turn it around after his rough start because I saw this kid pitch in Detroit and many of his outings were just electric. Colby is an amazing pitching coach.. he truly brings out the best in his guys.

I knew that Dreifort just couldn't be the man, he just doesn't have the fortitude or something. When it's on the line and he's the man, he buckles. Yhency Brazoban however will be our go-to guy for years to come. It would have been nice to have him coming in during the 7th, and Mota in the 8th (talk about an unhittable 1-2-3 punch), but we'll take what we can.

I still hate the fact we traded Murphy though.. he and Edwin Jackson as well as a few of our other young studs at AAA could have been a foundation for the future when guys like Nomo, Alvarez, Lima, etc. have retired. And dont get me started on trading for Choi.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Scoring 6 times in an inning twice has to be some kind of record.

Ok, thirty game season left, this damn Cubs "team" better start playing to their potential. If this Cubs "team" does not make the playoffs this year, make no mistake about it, its a bigger choke job than the bartman ball of last year. Last years team wasn't supposed to do shiat, and almost made the world series. This years team was predicted to make the World Series (Along with the Stros being another strong favorite), and now one of the two teams - maybe both- are gonna have insanely disappointing season by not making the playoffs! Lets go Cubbies! It's time to dominate!

I bet if you took Reds pitching away from Lance Berkman and looked at his stats he'd only be hitting about .275 through his career.
I can't wait to see what he does today! Shit I didn't know it was a day game!

Berkman with another homerun today.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
Kent Grand Slam! 9-3 Stros......That Cubs series lit a fire under this teams ass :D

edit- Roy O left with a sore ribcage muscle....ughhh please be nothing...this isnt fair :(

Reds can never pieice anything together. For years the starters were awful and they had one of the best bullpens. Now they've got a few descent young starters and some in the minors and the bullpen is complete trash.

Not to mention all the injuries that occur every day. Finally thought we'd see the best young outfield in baseball in Dunn, Kearns, Pena after Kearns came back from the DL and now Pena hurt his wrist then his ribs by banging into the wall...sigh.

Awww, how cute. Look at the Stros fans getting all excited about potentially winning the wild card. You need to simmer down, or you're going to be greatly disappointed. I've been saying for months that as of September 1 its officially go time and that is when the Cubs kick it up a notch. Stros can keep on winning but its in vain, as they aren't going to catch the Cubs. I don't know why you won't believe me!

The positive side of the Stros being in it is keeping this thread alive since it is dominated by Stros/Cubs fans (But wtf is MY POSSE they have abandoned me!). I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just want to help out my Stros buddies by helping to keep realistic expectations in check!

CONFIDENCE!

If you want to listen to Cubs panic talk tune your browser here right now:

Chicago sports radio stream. Talking about the Cubbies right now. It's funny. Most people outside of Chicago expect the Cubs to win the wild card. Most people in Chicago expect the Cubs to choke!

awaken from what? they had a 10.5 game lead and now it's 3.5 they had the best record in baseball at one point and now...... not. so please explain what exactly aer they gonna wake up from? vazques is gonna stop giving up gopher balls all of a sudden? it was one game and it was bad, but dont blind yourself.

the team has yet to realize its potential. the only reason they had a 10.5 game lead was because the red sox were playing .500 baseball for 3 months. starting pitching hasnt done ANYTHING useful all year (outside of el duque) and the hitting, while among the top of the majors could still be better.

edit: what i shoudl ahev really said was that this:

the offense has been carrying them all year and i dont believe for a second that they are gonna "turn it on" all of a sudden. it's ther pitching, not the hitting.
