damn I'm going to the saturday game [my only game all year! :( ] and I'm missing Roy AND Roger going for their 18ths. bah...we had tickets to sunday's game but they changed it to a night game so my dad said it was too late and changed to saturday...now we have seats 38 rows up 1st base side in the outfield, instead of 10 rows back in the right field seats...damnit this is for my birthday too.

:lol I gave up on the season 3 weeks after the all-star break. Any team's two best hitters go down and you know it's over. And If the Sox were in first by 12.5 games I'd still be pulling for the Cubs to choke this hard. I always do.

But seriously, answer the question. Why must you continually flip flop? I mean...pretty much every main poster in this thread's team has had a really bad run. No one even comes close to you. You seem to take losses just like the cubs players.

Where the Cubs go, I go. :p This is the most painful year I've ever had as a Cubs fan. I want them to lose because many players on the team act like jackasses and they piss me off but they are my favorite team so I want them to win. I get conflicted. :p But now they seem to finally have gotten over their stubborn "US AGAINST THE WORLD" phase so I can cheer for them in good conscious!

Red Sox are gonna sweep all three in the Bronx.

This is great for the Cubs though. Dodgers/Giants close. I'd prefer LA to beat the crap out of San Fran but as long as they take each other out the Cubs should be able to win the wild card as long as they take care of business. Sept 20 in Florida is gonna be a big day. We need to at least split, but we can gain some major leverage by winning both games of the double header. Both Houston and San Fran have off that day.

Time is of the essence. Less than one hour till gametime. I will not let Guileless let this team go into a tailspin. So here we go:

this rain delay is such a buzz kill. it'll be good for the yankees though who seem to be a little too excited about this series.

Holy shit, all year I've had some Boston TV station that shows Red Sox games and I NEVER REALIZED IT. I also have a Chicago station called WGN that shows Cubs and I think White Sox games, and I never knew. And the Mariners and Mets' local affiliates (ok, no one cares about that). I could cry when I think of all the games I would have watched if only I'd known I could! All those summer afternoons stuck watching the Jays shit their unis in front of an empty stadium, or even worse the 2 or 3 times I tried to force myself to watch an Expos game on The Score. Dammit.

Of course, I realize that I could be watching the Yanks/Sox play just in time to enjoy the rain delay.

Woo! Derrick Lee 3 run blast in the 5th! Cubs up 6-0!

Last night Aram night. Tonight is Derrick Lee night! He has 5 of the Cubs 6 rbis!

One thing I have started to notice are the amount of walks Cubs players have been taking lately. Very impressive. Those solo home runs are now becoming 2 and 3 run shots because this team is taking many more walks than they did earlier in the year.

I'd love to see Prior, Wood, Zambrano, and Maddux turn it on. I know last year Wood had a fantastic September and Prior continued his 2nd half streak to the end. I think Zambrano can throw right up there with them guys though and they should really install some confidence and avoid falling apart. It's just a matter of time until we get hot

I just dont think we'll ever completely have our ship sink with so many aces on one team. Someone will keep it afloat and with the talent we have we're bound to start some streaks.

har har har! 5 game streak ties Cubs with Giants for longest active streak in the NL

John Olerud "put the Mariners on the map"? :lol Yeah, it wasn't Griffey, or Arod, or Randy or even Edgar or Ichiro, it was that skinny guy in the hard hat.

edit: holy shit Manny!

LMAO! Cairo ran all around the fuckin bases! Stupid yankee!

Crazy ending to the Astros game. Posednick with an apparently game tying single, then gets caught in a run down with a man on 3rd then he breaks home and the Astros get him in a pickle and finally tag him!

i don't know if its already been posted here, but supposedly there is rumors that the husband and wife from Oakland that were involved in that bullpen "brawl" during the A's/Rangers game were making fun of the pitchers stillborn baby, in which case i retract my statement. No only did they deserve a chair to the head, but also a blowtorch to the genitals so those pieces of trash are unable to reproduce.
