WHOOOOO

just got home from the game...atmosphere was great tonight, loved every second of it, even though I didn't get to see Clemens or Oswalt and it was just the Brewers...Ausmus got leveled by some Brewer at home but held on to the ball, he looked dazed, they put in chavez after that inning...Quite a few people left after the 8th, I dunno if that was 'cause Lidge was coming in or what... but it's great how the crowd gets up after Lidge gets 2 strikes on the 1st batter and stays up...the crowd in general was great, gave Ausmus a bunch of cheers for getting up and then batting in the bottom of the inning lol.

That game was a work of art by Roger. [and Lidge!]

Clemens 8.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 10 K
-> 18-4, 3.00 ERA

sweet sweep, we actually won 3 1-run games. 2-1 , 4-3, 1-0

Lidge in the series: 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K

I think he's glad they have an off-day tomorrow lol.

edit: Roger was also 1-3 with a double and got the only run home by GIDP lol.

"If we get to the playoffs, believe me, we're not going to be the ones who are scared," Martinez said.

They don't shut up.

Can't believe the Yanks pulled off two monster wins after the abortion that was Friday night. More than that, I can't believe Boston didn't rally behind that come back and completely destroy the Yanks. Weird season.

BTW.. Hands down the current best pitcher in baseball..

J Santana (W, 19-6) 8 7 0 0 0 14 0 103-78 2.65

Hasn't given up a run in 30.

I hate the Brewers. They should have won two of three against the Stros.

Big double header in Florida tommorrow. I want both games!

tomorrow's game is huge. Sweep and you practically take the Marlins out of contention. Split and that uneasy feeling oh how close this race is gets more intense. Lose 2 and look to have a hell of a time in this race. If we could just win these two we'll be in the driver's seat watching either the Astros or Giants slaughter the other. I dont mind which one does which. Or hopefully they split their 6 game series. Either way this is the last huge meeting with a great mlb team until the Braves in the final 3. Hopefully they put it all on the diamond tomorrow. I'll be happy if I see that.

Santana better win the Cy Young award. If he doesn't, there's something wrong with this league. I think he's 29-8 since he joined the Twins rotation (I have no idea why it took them so long to put him there in the first place: I knew he would be great even when he was a reliever. I don't know why the management didn't put him up earlier).

And Gardenhire should win manager of the year award.

buck showalter gets manager of the year.

and i liked harold reynolds comment about the yankees stepping up big time to their first real challenge of the year and gammons saying that in the past decade mariano rivera is the AL equivalent of barry bonds.

Wrong. Gardy gets it. He's had to deal with multiple injuries to key members of the lineup all season, and has adjusted accordingly, getting suitable replacements. The only guys who've been healthy all year on the Twins have been Radke and Santana.

and Gardy had to deal with the no-star-twins.... again :p

Ok, Santana is the big star, but.... :|

HOLY CRAP! Talk about pulling names out of no where. I just hoped it was the Marlins best pitcher against the Cubs' OPotY (Overrated pitcher of the year)

"Carl Pavano will go in Game 1 against Mark Prior, with Matt Clement getting the ball for Chicago in the second game of the twinbill."

GO CARL! SPLIT THE SERIES!

HOUSTON! IT'S ALL SYSTEMS GO!
*CHOOO CHOOO*
We love our Astros in Houston
And all across the Lone Star State
We're Texas proud
And we shout it loud.
Our brand of baseball is great.

Our outfield has plenty of muscle
Our guys can sure hit a ton
From Minute Maid thrills, watch them hustle.
Catching hard hit balls on the run.

Our infield is solid and steady
Making big plays is their thing
Steal a base, hit and run, get a-ready.
All the boys cause it's time for the game.

Yankee fan Matt Harrison, 28, who was reared in New Jersey but lives in Boston, said he understands now how Red Sox fans can feel in the Bronx.

As he pulled into a parking lot with Massachusetts tags, a crowd of jeering men shouted for him to back up, directing him toward a wall.

babe ruth is still the greatest hitter of all-time.

even with all the hitters advantages in modern day baseball ruth still has 13 more hr's than bonds in almost a 1,000 less AB's. he has a career batting average 40 points higher than bonds, career obp 30 points higher, career slugging 80 points higher.

I'm going to call it right now. David Weathers has melted down in Houston. He was burned...badly...nothing left but his corpse burning on the ground....then, only ashes...

Marlins win 3-0, Phoenix Weathers pitches a 3 hit complete game shutout.

:(

This is David fricking Weathers pitching and he is shutting down this offense? OMG. But it is only two innings so far. I think we'll get about 8-10 runs off of Weathers before he leaves the game.

BTW Clement has been shit the 2nd half of this year. Too many walks/hit batters. Good grief he gave up 2 extra runs himself in the 1st.

haha cubs choke in the 6th, get one run home and then have runners on 1st and 2nd w/ nobody out..Lee and Sosa K and then Grudz grounds out. :lol

Lee with 6 strikeouts today alone and only the bottom of the 5th. What's up with that? So Lee, Sosa, and Grudzielanek all fail to get a hit and move the 2 guys already on base. Kinda sad. Need a clutch guy in the 5, 6, 7 spot. Todd Walker is better that Grudzielanek imo. Derek Lee's usually pretty good too but cant play his old crew. Why is Michael Barret batting 8th btw? Behind Aramis, Alou, and Patterson he's the next clutchest player on the team. Grudzielanek should be 8
