Bonds, who will be chasing Babe Ruth (714) and Hank Aaron (755) the next two years, said on Wednesday night that he'd like to extend his contract with the San Francisco Giants through 2007. He'll be 43 years old by the end of that season.
Bonds is under contract for next year with a vesting option for 2006 based on plate appearances.
"I'd probably want to extend my contract one extra year; that way, if anything should change, I wouldn't have to worry about free agency," Bonds said before the Giants whipped the Brewers, 8-1, at Miller Park on a night when he went 0-for-4 with a walk. "But 2007 will definitely be it for me, no matter what.
"Next year is really going to dictate what I do after the 2006 season. Even if I sign an extension, if I feel like it's time for me to move on after 2006, I'll know after the 2005 season. At that point, I'll let everybody know whether 2006 will be my last or whether I plan to move on to 2007."

I bet he could hit at least 3 more than that.Lathentar said:His average would be around .310 I'd bet, with about 70 HR.

Aramis with 3 HR and the Cubs are still only winning by one run.

no kidding. Newsflash: even if hawkins doesn't blow this game, you're still behind in the wildcard.

Not in the loss column. Giants got 6 games with LA, 3 with San Diego, and 3 with Houston left. PUHHHHLEEEEAAZZZEEE if you think they will hang with the Cubs.
Cubs are 2 wins away from back-2-back winning seasons

Poor White Sox fan. I remember years when the Cubs were bad. The only thing you have left is to hope the Cubs choke since your team couldn't get the job done.
