Don't plan on taking a vacation August 16 because you're going to The Office. The American version of the hit BBC series has been announced by Universal Studios. This single disc release will include all 6 episodes (132 mins) for $29.98. The A/V specs include an Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1) transfer, and a Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo mix (English/Spanish subtitles). Extras include deleted scenes, outtakes and more.

Way to ruin my birthday...

Show sucked, hope it never comes back... unfunny to the nth degree. A waste of Steve Carrell's talents....

Although I found the receptionist chick hot hot hot... but hey, MILFs for life!

MSRP is always way higher than these things actually get sold for. I can almost guarantee you'll be able to catch it for $20 in a first-week sale.

That said, six episodes is still not very much. They really ought to have waited and just released a Season 1 & 2 disc, but I guess they are hoping that this set will bring some attention to the show before the next season starts. I'm just glad that the show is coming back next September.....anyone know how many episodes have been ordered?

Some of the deleted scenes have been hilarious -- they were occaisionally posted on Yahoo TV or the official NBC site.

Not only that, but they are apparently doing what Fox does with 24 and are just throwing the DVD profits right back into the show.

NBC hasn't announced the episode order, at least not in public.

Damn.. you can get 20+ episode series for 30 bucks, that price is way too much :\ Oh well, I'll probably end up buying it since it's so great and deserves the help.

the MSRP for pretty much ANY dvd movie is $29.99 (check the press release in the SIn City DVD thread), so, like others have mentioned, you will likely be able to get this for $15-20 the day it comes out at the bigger chains like Best Buy.

edit: Now that i think about it, where the fuck is the Arrested Development Season 2 dvd? Has it even been officially announced?
