The Apprentice season 2 thread

Spoiler tags out of respect for the non Eastern Time Zone folks. Doubt it makes a difference though. ;p

Agreed, Elizabeth is a terrible leader. Mosiac's campaign was 100x better. I think she'll get fired. We'll find out in 15 minutes!

LOL that was the best fucking firing ever. She totally got fucking owned. Oh shit next week
Stacy J is back. Yes motherfuckers

Whoot! I was right! Not like this firing was a tough decision or anything. Yeah Trump totally owned
Elizabeth
this time around. I wanted to see more of Carolyn's bitching at
Elizabeth.
She rocks!

WTF is with the Donald redoing his lines in the boardroom? Anyone else notice that at some points in the boardroom, the camera is soley on the apprentice's and george and carolyn, and then you hear Donald speaking but it is way off line with how his voice just sounded a minute ago? I dont know, I think its just weird.

I've noticed that too. Every week they seem to dub over the boardroom with a message/summation of why Donald is firing the person. It's very distracting because it's poorly done. His voice sounds echoey and it shows reaction shots of people who don't seem to be reacting to what he is saying, and they never show his face during those portions. When the dub is done, wham! they show his face and his voice is back to normal.

YES! Good God, I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I'm not just hearing shit. They're very clearly dubbing him with re-read lines. So much for reality TV.

WELCOME TO LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!

The boardroom meetings are actually taped over a period of 2-5 hours, so you'd expect it to be a little out-of-sync when u pare down 5 hours to 10 minute footage.

I dont remember him doing it once last year, and I watched every ep. Now if they did do it last year, then they did a much better job at it.

LOL dude "WELCOME TO LAST YEAR," doesn't necesarily mean last year. Get a clue.

I've noticed it too. He did not do it last season. This is a first, and it's soooooo blatantly a dub. My guess is that he can't think of anything witty during the actual taping so NBC execs help him out later on. It's sad though. Makes me hate him even more.

Same here, I've noticed it and find it a bit annoying.

Remember the episode where they had the informercial challenge where the ladies sold the soap and the guys sold that griller thing? Anyways, the Thursday's show had Trump telling the ladies that they got obliterated / distroyed / (ok i'm paraphrasing here, but anyway) by the other team even though they only down by $10 or so.

Well on the Saturday show (not sure if they are even doing these anymore, where they have extended board room scenes and shit) had the same scene with Trump saying it was a close race. What a load of editing/dubbing BS crap!

Ok this is my longest post ever, so I'm a little tired here. :lol

He wasn't doing it in the earlier episodes but I think Donald just wants to cover his ass by explaining his firings which were really questionable in the earlier episodes.

I didn't notice the dubbing, but then again, I wasn't really paying attention.

I pretty much knew who was going to get fired right when the group leaders were selected.

Great episode! To me it almost seemed like the team wanted to get Elizabeth fired. I mean come on, the guy asked for emotion and what they ended up with is so far away from that. The boardroom scene was brutal. I haven't seen a group gang up on someone so quick and harsh since they stoned the fat kid in Lord of the Flies.

Kudos for Andy calling the "lets sex it up" ploy for what it was. After watching that video I can't even fathom how they could even do it.

"Be a cop and all the hookers do you for free"

Yeah, like I said, Andy is the fucking man. He proved himself. Maria, the dumb whore that she is, brought up the idea of sex appeal in an NYPD commercial. This chick is clueless and she says she works in the advertising field? The agency just told you what kind of ad they wanted, you don't ignore them! Moron, I feel bad for whatever company she's with.

Stacie J's was equally bad, if not worse. Some of my favourite coments "I've never been more scared in my life mr. Trump!" and "I was so scared I had to hide in a corner!"

Yeah, and the dubbing are pretty terrible, but I really hate the phony calls Trump always seems to on.

Stacie J's was equally bad

Stacie wasn't as pathetic as Elizabeth so it didn't come off as bad to me. But yeah I agree, they pretty much went out the same way. Once the others saw an opening they all just jumped in. At least Stacy made it past the initial selection of who goes back into the boardroom with the project manager.

No shit. I was wondering what the fuck she was thinking when she said they needed to inject sex appeal. What next, a commercial for Sesame Street with sex appeal? Good god, what a dumbass.

Let it be said...I found Andy's commercial too sappy, and the military thing was pathetic.

I think TWoP said it the best in this case...both Elizabeth and Andy had the right idea, the rest of the team had the wrong ideas (military, sex appeal). The thing is, Andy stuck to his convictions, and Elizabeth was not able to.

I'm suprised not more people bothered bumping up this thread. Anyways, I agree, I thought tonight's episode was great and I'll definitely miss
Raj and all of his antics, especially with the ladies. :lol

I sorta wished
Ivana
would have gotten fired instead. Well maybe it's because I just did't
like her attitude in the boardroom bringing up the whole Stacie topic.

It was a really close one tonight, and I wouldn't have been shocked if any one of
the three
got their ass canned.

Raj
shoulda brought in
Chris
for making those comments in the boardroom though.
He
definetly would have been fired.

I think most of us understand reality shows are almost as fake as anything else on tv. This episode just took it to far. I dont buy that some amazing contractor just happened to pull up to their doorstep looking for work. I havent watched much this season but i remember stuff like this happening all the time last year. In survivor they can set it up so competitions favor a certian gender but they still have to go out and win it. This show can be more eaisly manipulated.

Yeah, last year the teams had to rent out apartments, and one team hadn't rented it, then magically the person showed up to rent it 5 minutes before task end. That stank to me.

I loved Raj's line about sacrificial lambs. Trump's a jackass for thinking that people should seize upon everything people say to make them targets. How is what Chris said fire-worthy, but Ivana's bitchy mudslinging is not enough for her to be in the boardroom? I'm also not liking the fact that he doesn't let people defend themselves anymore, just to go for the abrupt "you're fired". On the bright side, no dubbing this week! :)

They can also do a lot of things with fancy editing and the different types of music they're playing. I can always tell which team's going to win by the music alone. Yeah gimme a cookie for that. :lol

The Apprentice and Survivor (although this season is blows) are the only 2 reality shows that I currently watch. I can't stand the others..

Did you notice how angry Trump was at Chris for mentioning how poorly the team was doing? I am certain he would have been canned for that. Just like Bradford did when he gave up his immunity.

BTW - I've stopped using spoiler tags now, seems like noone else cares anyways. :lol

There is a disclaimer in the credits saying trump consults with the producers before firing anyone. The show is still entertaining but i dont see why they need to pick off the most popular characters so early. People are going to watch either way, at least leave someone in they can root for.

Except for the stupid episode where Bradford was fired, I can almost always tell who is going to be fired by the halfway point, since they don't even do a convincing job of making it look close most of the time (the home shopping one notwithstanding). It was obvious Raj's team was tanking, and Ivana needed more screen time than her snippy line about Stacie for her to get fired.

All I can say is both Jennifer's looked might sexy this episode. Raj took his leaving with stride...hahaha he hit on Robyn. :lol I've also concluded that Ivana is a two faced piece of shit.

I thought Jennifer looked a bit chunkier in this episode. Maybe it was the bikini scene that did it though.

Her firing took 5 days before this episode. It's all in your head.

I smell a really satisfying IVANA FIRED! episode being set up. The show REALLY wants us to hate her.........and thus her firing will be a sweet release for the viewers. I certainly am looking forward to it.

Is there any reason to think that the final 4 won't be Kelly, Jen M, Kevin and Andy? Wes might sneak in there, but Chris and Ivana are absolutely toast, and Sandy and Maria are unimpressive.

It could be, but aren't these episodes filmed over a span of 1 week? Elizabeth got fired last week, we haven't seen Jennifer in ages.

Nope. Each season is shot in about 20 days.

Yeah, Trump doesn't want us to know that with his "15 WEEK JOB INTERVIEW" bullcrap he says every episode.

Also, the cab shots always show the cabs driving in nighttime from the outside, but when Stacy R. was fired, you could see sunlight behind her outside the windows when she was talking.

They also filmed them all walking to the cab before the season started. (the part where they walk out the door and enter the cab)

I really hope you're being sarcastic because there's NO way the entire season is shot in 20 days. This episode alone spanned at least 3 days. Maybe more.

And near the beginning of each episode whenever Donald gives the gang their task, he always says something about this is a 15 week job interview.

No, not sarcastic. Trump said it himself. The last season was shot in less than a month. And yeah, this episode spanned 1 1/2 working days, the night of the second day consisted of the boardroom and the next day consisted of the team's trip. This show's editing techniques are beyond confusing.

Edit: Also, you do know that the boardroom meetings average about 2 hours and have gone on to be nearly 5 hours long? There's so much crap behind Apprentice that people don't know.

From a press release about last season:

"A few examples. Organising a celebrity auction at Sotheby's. Producing a rock concert at a casino in Atlantic City. Designing an advertising campaign for luxury goods, including a 30-second TV spot, a billboard campaign and a magazine advertising campaign, then presenting the work to an executive at one of America's biggest advertising agencies. Locating an apartment in a rundown part of town, renovating it and leasing it out for a year. Each of these tasks must be completed within a 48-hour time frame."

It is definately not a 4 month process. I'd say between 20-30 days is most likely the true time frame.

Yeah I heard about those boardroom meetings (Carolyn mentioned it on Conan O'Brien) That's why I can't believe these things take such a short amount of time to film.

My appreciation for this show -1000

Electric Sheep: Thanks.

Jenov4: Yeah, don't be so surprised. There's a reason why the average sleep they all get is like 5 hours.
