I am looking at a 2008 Honda Civic and a 2010 Honda Civic with similar mileage and about a 2000 dollar price difference between them, although the 2010 has leather seats and is a sedan instead of a coupe. Which would be a better buy?

I don't think I'm getting that '62 Corvette. This one is selling for $25,000. :\

Holy shit.

There is no denying it, Aston Martin is the premier high-end luxo-sport manufacturer. No one comes close, they have no equal...they're quite literally in a segment of their own from the interior, to design, to the sound. I saw a white V12 Vantage today on the road, and it's one of the biggest reasons why I love cars so much.

My automotive goal is to own an Aston Martin sometime within 5-7 years.

I wanted to get some better visibility from my headlights by swapping out the H11 for some Philips H9 bulbs. Anyone do this to their car and have a ballpark of how long these last? I've owned this Accord Coupe for 4 years and 22K miles now and haven't had to swap out the bulbs yet. I like the idea of better visibility but I don't want to have to be swapping out every few months.

I know you guys are all hung up on exotic beautiful cars.

But I just bought a new truck that I'm super excited to get, hopefully the dealer calls to pick it up this week.

I bought a black Toyota Tundra 2012 Crewmax TRD Off-road package.

I do ALOT of snowboarding in the winter, I needed something I can haul me and 3 other grown men around the Canadian Rockies and carry all our luggage and boards etc..

I'm most excited about the reclining rear seats for my passengers, and I don't even get to sit in it.

My family and I rented a Tundra once to haul stuff around. Loads of room in that cab.

So, the time has come for me to get some new tires for the 350z.

I was going to pull the trigger and purchase some GBP250 a tire Bridgestones as recommended by Nissan's high performance centre then thought I would do a bit of research first.

Turns out a lot of people on the internet seem to think the Bridgestones are a poor choice despite the high price they warrant. Surprising.

So my question is, what is the premier manufacturer that produces tires built for comfort and grip (straight line)? Not too fussed about cornering speeds etc. My tire sizes are Front: 225/45 R18 91V Rear: 245/45 R18 96W.

Also, dat Aston. Imo, the most beautiful car out there. When a car looks and sounds that good, everything else is (almost) irrelevant.

Stock Bridgestones on 350Zs are awful tires, they're only expensive because they're an OEM tire and a lot of clueless folk will go to dealers or online and buy them just because they don't know any better.

There is nothing better than a Michelin Super Sport on the market right now. I have them on my 370Z and they're glue-like. Not sure how much they fetch for in the UK, but there's no question nothing competes with them - they're smooth, quiet, comfortable, the grippiest, lightest, and the best handling.

I'm not real hot on the front splitter on the Vanquish. It's a bit to busy for the rest of the car. The rest of the car, however, might be one of the best shapes to grace a car in the last 25 years. That side-profile is simply stunning.

I was just gonna say. Those ground effects look way bad on that car. Don't fit AT ALL.

2013 SRT Viper starting at just shy of $100,000.

Come November, you'll be able to put a mean snake in your garage for $97,395, *plus $1,995 for destination.

Chrysler has announced pricing information for the 2013 SRT Viper, with the base price seen above, and the higher-spec Viper GTS model at $120,395 (plus destination). Either way, SRT's latest snake will pack the same 8.4-liter V10 engine with 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. For those keeping track, the Viper's weight-shedding diet means each of those ponies is lugging around just 4.9 pounds. Stepping up to the GTS will net the buyer such goodies as two-mode active suspension, premium interior furnishings.

Looks like it's in R8, GT-R, ZR1 and 911 S territory. Curious to see what it achieves.

Never really liked the Viper coupe, always thought the roadster looked much much better. They are making a roadster version of the new one, I presume?

One thing you get on the GTS opposed to the base is the hood, I think GTS hood (blue car) looks worlds better. Still that ridiculously curving roof with the double bubble is so fugly, that's why roadster rules...

That was properly fast.

I really want an STi/TRD version of this car already. Surely though, the stock internals will not be able to handle that power for too long.

x2 on sti version. Don't doubt it won't last that long without a built engine, but as someone who is waiting an eternity for bleh power it is impressive they are already this far along.

So I just finished my first of three days at the Mid-Ohio Raceway School. It was completely awesome and it's only made me more excited for the next two days. Shit, lemme just copy my facebook post:

"So I was at Mid-Ohio Raceway all day and managed to take only one photo, too busy having a completely awesome time. It was mostly autocross/car-control drills throughout the day with about an hour of lead-follow on the track at the end of the day. Anyway, at the end of the day there was a final autocross challenge in the Acura TSX with the top three going again in the S2000. So, naturally, I got FTD in the TSX and FTD in the S2000 (by a second and a half) but kicked over a fucking cone, lost two seconds for it, and lost.

Why is that upsetting? Because if I hadn't hit that cone I would have gotten a gift certificate for a free Mid-Ohio school event, $900 value. GOD DAMN.

Still, absolutely stellar times and I'm more psyched than ever for doing hot laps on the track tomorrow."

If you want to get on a track going very fast, and also enjoy making poor financial decisions, this is the thing you need to do.

Damn, sounds like fun though. I'd love to do something like that, but I haven't been able to justify spending that kind of money.

Yeah me neither, I've just been fortunate to have been getting a healthy per diem on top of my normal salary since February. I decided to take that money as fun money and throw it at this school and building a car for racing next year. Maybe I could have saved it or invested it, sure, but fuck you race cars are awesome.

This literally just dawned on me. Infiniti is the only luxury brand that doesn't use LED headlights. What's up with that?

Fake edit: Wait, my car doesn't even have DRL. That might be why...duh.

I wonder if the 2014 G will have it?

"A device for sale on the internet is allowing thieves to steal BMWs and other high-end cars without the need for the owner's keys, a BBC Watchdog investigation has found."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19562487

Oh electronic bullshit and BMW - forever intertwined now.

From what I understand, this involves the thieves accessing keycode data from the OBD port to reproduce a blank key. They still need to break into the car to access the OBD port though.

There are a few security flaws that the hackers are exploiting simultaneously: there is no sensor that is triggered when the thieves initially break the window, the internal ultrasonic sensor system has a "blind spot" just in front of the OBD port, the OBD port is constantly powered (even when the car is off), and last but not least, it does not require a password.

Also:

All cars sold in Europe must permit open and unsecured access to OBD codes, so non-franchised mechanics and garages may read the codes. BMW is not the only car company to allow key code access through the OBD port, but the recent rash of BMW thefts, compared to other makes, suggests another factor may be at play, possibly a good supply of blank BMW key fobs.

There isn't a real fix for this from BMW at the moment, but for now, some independent specialists do offer a service to relocate the OBD and attach a security pin.

It'll only be 300hp too, and I bet capped at that via internals.

I remember Subaru having a road map for it's development:
1. FA20, what's in the 86
2. A turbo version of said motor
3. A totally different version of said motor to be used in the WRX/STI.

A turbo version of the BRZ is coming, and it's direly needed. It won't make it any less of a "driver's car" despite what the sheeple say, in fact, it may actually become MORE fun... who'da thunk it?

Really? I find them so bland. They definitely look English, they have this weird kind of 'bloated' look to them like the Jaguar had for many years with the XJ or XK series or whatever it was.

I would much rather a Maserati Gran Turismo Sport or Alfa Romeo 8C. Both look gorgeous an d are easily my favourite sounding cars out there. The over run on the Maserati is just insane....

Yeah, I remember BMW getting a lot of stick for it, but other manufacturers are in the same boat.

My problem is that I have absolutely no idea which one is which. I think if I were going "British", I'd go with Jaguar. I've always wanted a Jaaaag.

One reason why I'm becoming a car-mudgeon - not much of these electronic gadgets actually help make the car or driving experience BETTER. It's not like we're using lever brakes and hand cranks w/ manual wipers here.

I'd argue that cars actually peaked in the 90s.

Outside of American cars, probably, but those peaked back in the late 60s.

That's what cars like the FR-S are for.

I'd want a supercar to kill me.

I'm not dieing in anything less than a 911. My kid is going to be so excited when I buy it and he thinks "hey, I'm going to get to inherit something cool!" Not so fast, junior... this is a combo deal. It's a sports car and a coffin.

Going for the convertible head scraper or dying in the typical closed roof fashion?

GAF, what's the general consensus on the Chevy Impala 2014, the new revision? And while we're at it what's the consensus on american compacts/sedans? I currently drive a 2004 Corolla, but I'm thinking about making a switch to something bigger, and the eco model of the 2014 impala looks great (mpg is a big factor for me due to my commute). When I got the corolla I was still in high school, and the train of thought was if you want reliability/efficiency, always buy Japanese as American cars break down like crazy. Just want to know if this have changed, I'm not much of a car aficionado.
