Unrealistic expectations? I always expect Apple to suck, and they rarely let me down.

2) Mac Mini -- they should have included a SPDIF jack. That extra $1 would have made it a perfect HTPC.

If this means I can finally dump MS Word, this is the biggest news of the day.
I like the cut of your jib.GXAlan said:1) The iPod shuffle 2.0 should include an Sony eMarker like feature where if there was something you liked, you can push a button. With that, you can sync daily and then get a random mix of tunes from iTunes. It becomes like a portable HD/XM/Sirius radio. If there's any song you like, you push a button and it keeps track of that name. You can buy the song later from iTunes if you want. It would figure out which songs you might like and load those on next time. You could even combine it with a subscription model where you pay $10/mo for unlimited downloads, etc.
Mac mini also offers all the software that you need to finally enjoy the Internet hassle-free including email, chat and a web browser that blocks popup ads. You also get a DVD player, calendar software, an address book, faxing and a way to download your contacts to your cell phone or iPod. You can balance your check book with Quicken 2005. And when you want to take a break, play the 3D games Nanosaur 2 and Marble Blast Gold.

Whos going to be using a mac if you cant even use office? Certainly not any businesses...

Don't go out of your way to upset Microsoft or you'll end up with no office.

Timbuktu said:iWorks is no Office. It's just Appleworks and Keynote repackaged together, it purely for consumers. I dunno why one would want to dump Word.
Prospero said:If this is true, then why does Pages have to import files from Appleworks?
Timbuktu said:Sorry, didn't know that, but my point was that iWorks occupies the same market that Appleworks did and does not threaten Office. It is a lot cheaper, to begin with. I have to try my hands on it, but my feeling is that it will still lack a lot of the features that Office has and those who need Office should still get the Office.
but man... iLife got buried under all the annoucements, HD for iMovie is pretty amazing. And I'm surprised that Sony got on stage with Jobs, I thought the two companies were fighting each other.

That's the thing that boogles my ming. I work hard to earn my money and I can't understand why I should pay 50 for a thing that is going to rest in my friggin' pockets. If at least it had a decent screen, but not even that. You wouldn't pay for it, but others would/will. I remember all the criticism that Apple recieved when they first announced the iPod Mini, and look how well that has sold.
I am out of words, I retire from this thread.Fusebox said:If you only have good music on your 'shuffle' then what does it matter what song is playing? If you really feel the need to skip a song when you're out jogging then just delete it from your player.
Phoenix said:Sorry, but most business are no longer office dependent in that manner. Most documents that we deal with are in .pdf format when exchanged because they will work on every platform in our enterprise without problems nor concerns about spreading macro viruses and the like. If you're using a Mac just because you can use office - there is something mentally wrong with you. There are STILL plenty of people out there using WordPerfect and a growing number using OpenOffice - neither of which have 100% office compatibility.
And many business have enough old PCs sitting about that you can have a Windows box sitting on your desktop right next to your Mac if necessary![]()

exactly. all corporate culture adheres to the *.doc format. you may do whatever you wish, but you better make sure there is a doc version available for everyone else.
