Man, i'm not gonna lie, that diversity thread on gaming side just makes me uncomfortable.
All the "maybe it's because I'm not a minority, but I don't care" and "i AM a minority, and I don't care" stuff getting parroted around without a second thought, people seeming to take pride in their not caring about diversity, and not really actually addressing, or playing dumb regarding the topic at hand... Man, seeing that kind of thing happen so unanimously, I dunno. Something about that thread, I just don't feel right reading it. :/

I'm hype as fuck with Final Fantasy XV, but there's just a little thing that concerns me. If they're going to have all men, at least put in one non-white/Japanese in there, but it's FF where anyone not of those two races are rare and when they are in, that character for damn sure isn't the lead.

Exactly! Man... Sometimes I wonder if people like that even at least try to understand the other perspective. It's sad how people can be so apathetic to things that don't concern them. As you say, that such things are normalized to most people, even to minorities, THAT's something that maybe we should take a step back and re-evaluate.

Those are the worst posts. When people go on about "checking a quota is bad!" or "it was just the creator's vision to create as homogenous a cast as possible"...
The first doesn't hurt anyone. If you can't handle diversity that's on you.
The 'creator's vision" stuff is nonsense. People can and do have the right to critique a creator's work and make it better. WE don't actually know why the creator chose to make a non-diverse cast is. Usually it's either they forgot/didn't think about it, or they actively chose not to. Both of those are worthy of criticism.
I feel like things have become a lot more positive regarding the game since the event. That airship reveal was PERFECT.
I'm so looking forward to it, even if yeah I take problems with the diversity issue. You can like something and of course be fully aware of its troublesome elements and how they can be improved. Being critical about the things you like, nothing wrong with that.
The contested convention probs happening.
It's probably going to be mediocre and peeps will lose their minds.
