Horror games are seriously subjective to me and definitely relies on suspending disbelief, that said its one of my fav genres. I liked Outlast, I liked Alien Isolation, same with SOMA played all of em with my lady and it was super fun for the experience of it.
What I'm reading despite some puzzles being trial and error its worth the play. I'll be picking it up a bit later when I have time, not sure if I want to do PS4 or PC yet.
You gotta play them in the middle of the night with no lights, headphones on, and your back to the open.
I enjoyed Outlast but I actually think games with limited weaponry are scarier than games with no weaponry, or at least CAN be scarier. When you have no weapons, you're expected to either run or hide. There's always a way out. But when you're given weapons you have no idea if you're supposed to run from this enemy or fight it unless it's a typical common enemy. You can be screwed over due to a lack of preparation.
Speaking of which, did Friday the 13: The Game drop yet?
