pump the brakes dude
just because you never saw someone have a mental breakdown over some shit, doesn't mean they're a-ok.
its not a black/white thing either
We're talking anecdotes, and I obviously can't delve deep into peoples souls. But I've had fairly heart felt discussions regarding the subject with friends, and in several classes, and people were open as fuck regarding the issues. You're correct in saying that I obviously can't know for sure, and I'm well aware of the fact that beatings can and will leave an emotional scar, you'd be stupid not too, but I'm talking about an ass whooping. Hand to ass, stings during the process, but not afterwards. No marks or lasting effects. An ass whooping.
And it's obviously not black and white,
but I don't think it's incorrect to say that there's a noticeable racial divide when it comes to physical punishment and parenting. And few things in society are black/white things anyways. It's simply more likely and less likely depending on cultural background, nothing more. Black people are more likely than white people to get arrested for drug use. That's not to say that getting arrested for drugs is an exclusively black issue, but they are more likely to be. It's not a black/white issue considering whites are arrested as well, and can also be unfairly targeted or harassed by the police for the same things, but it can be discussed as such for the sake of conversation since it's makes things infinitely easier to discuss.
And a lot of it does in fact stem from economics, I never said there wasn't, but as I've said before, there's a more than noticeable racial component to it as well.
I didn't say all asians do X, I said my asian friends specifically. You however are blanketing all white people based on your friends. Did you see me extrapolating on the rest of the asian population based on my 3 friends? No. Try again.
Do you have similar feelings when you hear comedians make the
same exact joke time and time again? It's a joke, and my apologies if it came off as anythign but. I've made tons of arguments on this forum, and if you're familiar with my posting style, you'd know that a post of mine containing "White Brethren" and me being clueless within a conversation about Country music (a reference to a post I made here on Friday) is anything but serious. I apologize if you were offended, or believe my views to honestly be that pedestrian and blanketing, but it was little more than a light-hearted jab from anecdotes drawn from my personal life.
And my comment
was in regards to my friends, considering the fact that the comment in question was "whenever my group of
friends start reminiscing about it, my white
friends look more clueless than I do in a conversation about Country music."
